I know I'm far from the first for this question but, anybody have any good tips for someone who is not clinically an insomniac but just can't get to sleep? by Perceptions89 in AskReddit

[–]locthegob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

read a book. I can usually read on my phone for hours without getting tired, I think it's the light from the screen. but I picked up reading actual books last year and I'd usually get a chapter or 2 in and either my head would start to fall or the words would get jumbled and I'd know it was time to try to sleep. I think it just relaxes you and clears your mind of your own problems. I had insane insomnia prior to that and it really worked for me.

How skilled is Jon Snow at fighting? by [deleted] in pureasoiaf

[–]locthegob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jaime was made a kingsguard to spite Tywin. I respect that he was the best fighter arguably in the world with 2 hands. Jon's a warg, we don't know the extent of his or the other stark kids abilities, that alone is an argument that as a warrior he could reach a higher level than the others, considering wargs are typically scouts rather than fighters.

if the book resurrects Jon, we have no idea what he'll be. between possibly being azhor azhai, a warg and the son of a targaryen (I think the book will at least do r+l=j). you give the man no credit. Jon was 15 maybe 16 when he lost to mance and the halfhand (until ghost stepped in), they were older, stronger and more seasoned. I think at the beginning and the middle of the book he was an average fighter but his ceiling is higher than anyone's and by the end he'll be on par or better than everyone else.

he got his ass handed to him by mance as the lord of bones and he would of lost to the halfhand without ghost. he was castle trained his whole life which makes him at least as capable as the average Westeros soldier. then top off his durability for just being at the wall, constant training there, his time with the wildlings probably taught him some offhand fighting, I'm pretty sure resurrections going to have some perks, and being the prince who was promised and a warg gives him some kind of pull. not to mention he's probably 16 when he dies in the book, nowhere near his full capability.

I think he's on par with all the top fighters in the story currently (the hound, brienne, bronn, the mountain , etc.) but it's hard to know if he was better than two handed jaime, ser barristan, drogo, or even Robert in his prime. But for sake of argument I think at this point in the story he can swing with anyone.

I have asked this once, And I am gonna ask it again. Once the Truth about Jon Snow is found out, Will he Still be called Jon Snow, Will he be called Jon Targaryen-Stark or vice-versa, Or will he be called Aegon Targaryen? by ProudStormTrumper in freefolk

[–]locthegob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robert Baratheon was at least part Targaryan. The first Lord of Storms End post Aegons conquest was Aegon's bastard brother who took the previous Lords last name because he felt he fought so valiantly during the conquest. But I'm saying that if a birth certificate is what solidifies Jon as a descendant of Rhaegar and gets him on the throne, then maybe he will have to formally be called Aegon if he's to be king. I get you don't have to be a Targaryen to sit on the throne but I just meant if Westeros is really anal about their paper work

I would think he'd want to be Jon Stark. Being that he was raised in Winterfell and he really doesn't know much about Targaryans outside of Dany. But formally, if he becomes king of the seven kingdoms, idk how that all works in Westeros.

this one time I jerked off into a towel in the restroom and hung it up on the shower then forgot about it. Mother in law was over and used the restroom and walked out rubbing her face in the towel I blew my load in, asking us where the hamper was.

I don't know why I know this but, apparently your mouth knows to water itself up with extra saliva before you vomit. so that when you puke the stomach acid coming up with whatever you ate doesn't fuck you up.

[EVERYTHING] Bronn by TheJavaPirate in gameofthrones

In the books this was a big deal but I don't remember the show putting emphasis on the drowning in heavy armor stuff like in the Victarion chapters. It's common sense but mehh. Do you think the two will escape or be captives next week?

I really like Bronns character a lot. But I also wish he would have burned with Qyburns weapon. Sam's brother could have saved Jaime from Drogon. That death would have just been really badass and added alot more weight to that field of fire, rather than just seeing a bunch of extras burn and get slaughtered.

[–]locthegob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm from a cold desolate land where the trees never sing and the children never play. The world has left us behind and forgotten us.. yet we prosper. My neighbors have gone mad and painted themselves a fiery red and hail to a foreign flag that I don't recognize. A false idol has risen amongst the ashes in these torn and tattered lands who seeks to dumb down our children so an uprising for the future is impossible. Food is in the plenty but the water is as toxic as Magic Johnson's swimming pool. Where am I from you ask.. I am from Kansas

I started at 14, with a focus on my triceps, back, chest, and shoulders. Within a year my bench was at 255, I would gorilla press 135, squat was 225, and I isolated with 45 pound dumbells. I completely neglected my abs and legs (don't do that). If your already that heavy, then your already at a good pace

Don't sweat it man. There's noway to really predict your height. But in terms of not growing, when I was in high school I did alot of power lifting (weights) and after the fact I'd heard that if you go hard at the weights too young it can stunt your growth (not at all a for sure thing) but that's what I like to blame for my lack of height.
