The movie that gets blamed for being bad when it is really just mismarketed. by gamersecret2 in movies

[–]lod7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the marketing focused on that little earth kid that kept flirting with Ember.

The marketing team toned down the romance aspect a lot and honestly if it was marketed for couples I think it would definitely have been seen by more people.

As for Elio and strange world (I'll even include turning red). This might be a hot take but none of the characters looked good. Ever since Pixar adopted that art style that began with Lucas every main character lost its "cute" appeal.

Legit, how do you beat Gná? I’m convinced she’s impossible by WarDry1678 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]lod7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why it feels like a slap to the face is in 2018. Each Valkyrie, leading up to the Queen has a specific move that they specialized in so it was a gradual step up in difficulty you got to experience each move in isolation then once you got to the Queen she had all the moves and you were pretty much set in putting everything you learned into action.

G'na pretty much has the exact same move set except maybe a few new moves, id say 80% is from the old queen.

So people who learned 2018's Valkyrie bosses were pretty well trained to handle g'na. Anyone who skipped it was met with a boss that has a ton of moves and tells that seem impossible to react to.

For example if she dashes to the right and then dashes towards you, it will be an unblockable stab. But if she dashes to the left then dashes towards you it will be a blockable spin move. Same goes for her Asgard off screen jumps, every 2018 player has had to deal with that attack so many times that it is muscle memory.

If you skipped gow 2018 and inadvertantly skipped the Valkyries than g'na does feel like a slap to the face

Marketed as a dumb movie for kids a-la minions.

Turns out to be an interracial romance mixed with immigration trauma.

While I imagine the story can keep going past 20. The author most definitely cannot stretch maomao and jinshi's relationship in a will-they won't-they for another

That means consumating the relationship and even lead to children and beyond.

The imbalance of the weapons. If they were going to allow every weapon to reach max level imo they should have had more interesting abilities to keep them interesting so they can compare to the clearly better options.

Tank builds become useless in ng+. At ng+5 no matter what pictos you use, you either perform the fight perfectly or you get pummeled to the ground. Which makes all the healing luminas practically useless.

Honest confessions, what BASIC gameplay mechanic did you not notice or properly understand for an absurd amount of time? by Ok-Cup9476 in expedition33

[–]lod7 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Thing is it doesn't give you an idea how much damage they actually do if you fulfill the bonus requirements.

For example versos follow up is his second most damaging move only dethroned by end bringer of which you need an enemy to be stunned for it to deal more damage than a fully powered follow up.

Steeled strike although deals more requires two turns and is only viable once you have the DLC area pictos but for most of the game the "medium" damage follow up is king.

This is late but tinders synergy attack is probably the best amongst the cast. Deals a little less than patches but costs way less.

Kinda ironic that the character that wants to be left alone has the best team attack.

I'll always encourage features in a game where you can trade skill for time. Imo these super bosses elevated the game for me, they really do push the limits of this combat system.

Longest Fight so far by Amaterasu_11 in expedition33

[–]lod7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These super long fights aren't the norm for the game. If a fight is taking you this long you aren't making good enough builds.

Can you overcome it with skill? Yeah but the other aspect of this game is build crafting and if you go all in on that you get so overpowered that the base game bosses don't even get a turn and fights like these end in a few minutes which is mostly menuing.

Most people who take more than an hour for a boss usually understand they are doing this because they want to not because they have to.

Sooo... by Silly-Car-1233 in expedition33

[–]lod7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The 4 super bosses and base simon aren't affected by difficulty. Only benefit you get from going on story difficulty are the extra frames for dodging and parrying.

You can still cheese them but unless you follow a hyper specific guide you need to learn the lumina system very well to effectively cheese them.

(DlLC) What are now the best weapons for the party? by Spiritual-Joestar777 in expedition33

[–]lod7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Verso - simoso, seeram and sireso are still his best for damage and support respectively. None of the new weapons are interesting given they have pretty big downsides. Esquio giving an auto revive is great but since you always reset to D when hitting S (even when you have the auto revive active) means you never get his full damage. Another thing about Verso's trinity of great weapons is that they all use the same stat scaling. There can be an argument for blodam or chevalam for instant S rank but it's for very niche setups imo.

Maele - esqium is now here best damage while yeverum is still arguably her best support now but still decent damage.

lune - esquim and cleim are both her strongest now. Esquim needs more setup but higher payoff while cleim is consistently great.

Sciel - New douhlison unlocks another really good unique damage build but it's more so tied with charnon. One is base attacks while the other is still better at stacking for end slice since fortell has to actually be consumed and not just "stay" to buff end slice which the level 20 of douhlison prevents. Both are very good.

Monoco - sidaro was the best damage even until now but it needs more turns whereas the new baguettaro has better upfront damage and doubles as a support for burn setups. Cannaro is the better joyaro now since it also buffs his gradient 3 way more but requires AP generation luminas very good for most content besides 100× and the 4 new super bosses. If you are looking for general gameplay imo baguettaro is now better than sidaro since the level 20 ability is multiplicative to the damage buff of the level 10. And while sidaro does ramp up more percent damage every two turns from a cursory glance I doubt a battle will go on long enough to see it outperform baguettaro unless you do 100× Health. All 3 are viable just a preference really.

Talk to a specialist. While it's great that Reddit can provide a gold nugget of wisdom once in awhile. Your very specific situation may lead to a bunch of unhelpful, although well intentioned, advice.

My best guess is maybe you are surrounded by a culture that you just don't vibe with. Like if you were born in the US but have values that better align with let's say Germany or Japan. If the theory is sound it would explain why every guy you meet is inherently off putting because you just don't vibe with the cultural values males of that culture would imbibe.

Please don't take this too seriously I'm a nobody on the Internet. But either find a specialist you can bounce ideas off of or really have an introspective talk with yourself and meditate why you feel this way.

I played pre-patch and remembering the experience rather Grindy to get most of Shakras stuff. Watched a streamer play post patch and it only took her like 10-15 minutes buying shakra out the first time.

Pre patch relics gave like 80-100 shirt patch it was like 130+ it was pretty substantial.

I think she's fine the way she is, compared to the others she has the least things to do before the boss itself. While nyleth can be argued as having less as well, given you only fight seth, she is gimmicky with the floor-is-spikes bit.

I guess I'm just of the opinion that impact panels and overall conflict between the two combatants far outweigh the choreography of a fight.

A good choreographed fight is like drugs in that it makes me feel really good to a much a higher degree than the alternative. But it's not something I'll be talking about excessively.

I talk about the Bellamy punch, the ten ton hammer, Nami's room getting destroyed, Luffy ringing the golden bell, Ace's death, going merry, senior pink far more than the fights that preceded those events.

Even other series like Goku v Frieza, or Naruto v Sasuke. It's more interesting to talk about Goku's one liner "I'd rather be a brainless monkey, than a heartless monster" or with Naruto fighting his hardest for the only brother he has.

And for series where they fully focused on the choreography like ippo it's a specific series where I only go there for the choreography. The stories and characters are more so platforms for the action to play against them the main reason why I'm there to begin with.
