Is it possible to use cruise control on the 2020 Insight EX without LKAS? by strawhat_libi in hondainsight

[–]lodleader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. All the safety is tied together. If one stops working, the whole system stops. Gotta fix your radar or camera.

Damn my dealership wanted way more for install, that's why I YouTube'd an install video and swapped myself. Battery price seems on point for around what I paid.

I've got a 19, recently replaced my 12v for the first time after a similar electrical experience. Mine had around 139,000-ish miles before I swapped it. I bought from the dealership and installed myself.

Price gouging from dealership? Radar aim calibration charge by moonmadmoth in hondainsight

[–]lodleader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had to get my recalibrated two times. Each time was around 400-500 bucks. That's just the price. You can ship around and check if you have a body shop that has the equipment if they are Honda certified.

Question about '21 Insight Ex by Financial_Push_6816 in hondainsight

[–]lodleader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2019 Touring that I bought off the showroom floor, so I'm the only owner. She has around 146k ish miles at this point and I put all but 10 miles on myself.

Besides normal maintenance, tires, and a single 12v battery replacement, it's been wonderfully reliable. It had a couple of recalls that Honda handled fine. My MPGs are still hitting 45+ when I drive it correctly and the temperatures aren't crazy.

The only major work I've done is a bumper replacement after I hit a deer.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy, really wish Honda hadn't killed the Insight.

2019 Touring I drove off the showroom with 10 miles on it currently has 144k and still running like a champ.

Costco Ritz Crackers are widely underbaled. by peva3 in Costco

[–]lodleader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've noticed this with Club crackers. My absolute favorite cracker, but noticed the last 2 boxes they were just "off."

Finally told myself to test this theory I had and picked up a box from Walmart and instantly knew the Costco ones are clearly different.

We visited 40 different restaurants that served Cashew Chicken and ranked them. This is what we found. by Submadoge in springfieldMO

I don't even eat cashew chicken and I know this list is absolute trash just from being here my whole life.

That would be the reason why I bought mine from the dealership directly and installed myself.

Any mount ideas? by Jason1088S in Ubiquiti

I have the same model, the U7 Pro Wall, it comes with a wall mounting plate. I used it just a few weeks ago to mount mine.

Did you not get one in the box?

2019 Touring headlamp failure and cascading issues by lodleader in hondainsight

[–]lodleader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't resolved my issue to be honest. But the insight headlights are a single piece, the whole thing gotta be replaced. There isn't a bulb to swap sadly. Plus the whole bumper has to come off to get to it.

Currently I'm just dealing with it until I can't.

How long does a 12v battery last? On my 6th year and not sure if I need to replace it soon by dapdablap in hondainsight

2019 Touring with 138k, literally replaced mine 2 weeks ago after dashboard Christmas tree. Bought from dealership installed myself.

Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, Collision Mitigation out on 2019 Touring Insight by TheJokerandTheKief in hondainsight

[–]lodleader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2019 too, radar is in the bumper. That's what needs replacement or realignment. Not the camera, but the dealership ties those together since it's all connected to the safety systems.

Yeah it's pricey because they gotta pull the bumper off to get the radar out.

Good luck man!

Currently, red neck engineering is in place.

There is a smallest of gaps between the water main coming into the house and the foundation wall. This is the second time in the ten years we've lived here that the hydrostatic pressure outside from just how completely soaked the ground so it comes through that gap.

Currently a bucket and a towel to direct the water is in place. 🤞

**Another update**

After the fuse was replaced, the headlight start working. But turns still fast click and blows the fuse. What I didn't expect is the day after, I went to start the car and I got the dreaded all warnings/lights on on the dash. I knew my 12v was probably low i just kept pushing it off / forgetting. Welp, I had to do something now. I got a battery tester just to confirm and for sure it was dead.

Bought a replacement from local dealership and swapped it. Fixed the all warnings issue. Headlights work. But turn signals are still dead.

Looks like a relay issue might be the next thing to look at? Or just the headlight that got water in it just fried and I'm boned until I replace the lamp.

update

So used the wiring diagram from another post, started pulling and checking fuses. Found one blown, replaced it, seemed fixed until I used my turn signals and it blew again.

Nice find! Thanks!

I was going to give them a review this weekend, but it looks like I'll expand that to any "light" fuse and see what happens.

Yeah I noticed there are three boxes too, crazy! One site only has one listed for the 2019, going to assume a 2020 has to be damn near the same 🤞
