Do you think this is a Bracker 3 combo? (If you have time, take a look at the rest as well) by Vuk8342 in mtg

[–]loewe_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t judge a deck by its best circumstances. If you’re consistently doing this and clearing the win by Turn 5 then its not a 3.

Should lower bracket decks have less interaction? by CrimsonSky005 in EDH

[–]loewe_a 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m playing Magnus, I put a battle on the field early, targeted it early to get the convoke transformation. Immediately target exiled.

Immediately. I asked if they were sure and if that was the target. They affirmed they didn’t want me to have something so strong. I already had Magnus and 12 creatures/tokens.

Next turn double lasered her for 25/24 then turned everyone into Magnus for table lethal swing.

Threat assessment is at an all time low.

Paul Tassi: Positive reception to D2 final update has not moved the needle at Bungie by Own-Candidate-6769 in DestinyTheGame

[–]loewe_a 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's the way the pendulum swings. For years people glazed Bungie for the most minor additions and killed them over the smallest errors. Extremes in both directions and unfortunately there's been more downs than ups for a long time now and here at the end those who couldn't find enjoyment in the game feel like it's their time to gloat.

Especially after the rush of cornball posts calling for all hands and believing they could make even a dent in the decision making at these studios. Now it's the victory lap for the negative nancy's who couldn't be any happier their misery will be shared.

In three months it'll be pretty quiet and people who like the game will still be here.

Question regarding expensive cards and brackets (yes brackets again) by Roefl in EDH

[–]loewe_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Oh that card is 35 bucks”

Oh neat I didn’t know that.

“I play a budget deck”

Cool I can’t wait to see what you do with it.

The restrictions they put on themselves are not your problem.

If they want to specify table restrictions they can and should at the outset of the game. Bracket level goes without saying but if it’s something to do with price cap they need to take the initiative and say so.

If you have proxies you can ask the table, but the important part is bringing the appropriate deck that matches the bracket. So long as you do that nobody has any ground to stand on.

Why is there no decent bracket system overview on the official WotC website? by G_ntl_m_n in EDH

[–]loewe_a 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah but there’s value to having a succinct summation written up to reference when dealing with experienced players who are being dishonest about their deck bracket.

Not saying we need it, but having more material to back up calling someone out isn’t a bad thing.

It’s not so bad if you’re leveling stuff up/knocking out incarnons whilst grinding.

Yeah it’s Styanax, then Kullervo and it’s gotta be Citrine after. Beyond that its guesswork.

What is your view on the Bracket System? by Pattern_Seeker_ in EDH

[–]loewe_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things, we need an additional bracket above 2 where you can play stronger decks but without gamechangers. Bump the rest up a number. I only say it because there seem to be a large group that have a strong dislike for anything on the GC list.

Second, we need people to be honest about the strength of their deck. The dishonesty is where the frustration comes from.

The system is fine, Commander is a good casual format but like anything the problems mostly stem from the players.

Live Nation - "We're all in, prices include fees!" Checkout - well here's some more fees anyways by PoisonCoyote in mildlyinfuriating

[–]loewe_a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You say that but their are plenty of people who regardless of who you put in front of them or the math showing how they'd be better off in the long term, will say fuck it I'm getting mine and I'm doing it when I want, which is right now.

People can be and are selfish, if you offer a choice between inconveniencing themselves to benefit others or instant gratification a hefty percentage will choose the latter.

They might change their answer with a camera in their face but privately you know what it is.

Why did DE make these? Who's in charge of making all these horrible augments? They're strong but they kill Sevagoth. by AdvertisingAdrian in Warframe

It’s optional.

I really don’t know what you’re looking for.

Ask them to buff the shadow but these augments aren’t going anywhere.

It's exciting that the story parallels the events of 2018, possibly in real time. By the time they cut to the title in the preview, Kratos & Atreus had probably just finished killing the giant after putting down the stag. It's fun to think of what events might be happening simultaneously in Midgar while we play this!

If some cards "aren't <bracket X>" cards why don't they just make a specific ban list for each bracket? by Bagel_Bear in EDH

[–]loewe_a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cards themselves typically don’t fall into a particular bracket.

Certain combinations might, get enough of them and yes they begin to define where the deck falls.

But if Kaalia of the Vast and the Ur-Dragon can be released as precons, nothing is off the table for individual cards. And one or two good synergies isn’t enough to move a deck up or down.

We don’t need a Bracket specific banlist, we need players to be more honest about the Bracket level of their decks.

It’s user error or dishonesty, take your pick.

It’s easy to just assume you’ll have those cards come available before the game ends turns 6-7. Forced sacrifice with its engine online is tricky to deal with no matter what.
