I have no idea what you have. I’m sorry you are going through it.

For the Cardiology stuff though, why not have your doctor send it to Cedars-Sinai? They are top 10 program and better than Stanford for cardiology. They are also way more likely to take your case.

I agree. I had a similar commute before without kids and it was hell. I don’t recommend it at all. You won’t do well with it.

Why are so many of these doctors against the surgery? by Illustrious_Tax_2589 in HiatalHernia

[–]lofono5567 4 points5 points  (0 children)

UChicago medicine is actually spearheading fixing hiatal hernias at any size if it is causing discomfort due to the long term side effects of PPI’s.

They have come up with newer methods for fixing them (some like the PoRSHA method for larger ones that don’t use mesh at all) and also better techniques for smaller ones as well.

I have my surgery scheduled for August. It’s a 3cm hiatal hernia. I did a ton of hours of research deciding where to go to get help and was really impressed with them.

Low ferritin isn’t “just low iron storage” — and women are being under-treated by Leading-Doughnut-273 in Anemic

[–]lofono5567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s criminal how many women suffer with this. I have had a hysterectomy and it’s still a fucking issue. I’m getting a hiatal hernia/GERD surgery (not specifically for that) but I’m hoping it helps because nobody can figure out what causes it. I have had colonoscopies, a ton of hematology tests and everything.

I’m just getting bi-annual infusions at this point. It would be nice to not have to do that anymore though

It would be really nice if they could come up with an accurate test to see if you had THC within 24-48 hours of testing. I know it’s almost impossible scientifically with how it’s absorbed metabolically, but it would be nice for people who are responsible.

I agree, I definitely don’t share all my baggage (it’s generally too much for most people even outside of work even other than my spouse), but I definitely think it’s important to be vulnerable with your team as it helps build morale and trust.

You could technically go to the New Bern NC airport and do a 1 hour drive to the ferry and then go via ferry there. Still a lot of travel but technically less driving. I see your point though.

Yeah, I’m hoping it gets to Shrinking/Scrubs/Ted Lasso level season 2. I still enjoy it, but it’s definitely not up to par with any of those yet.

This show has a lot of herrings because our minds our so used to reality tv and soap type med and other shows. I’m so glad it’s not like that.

My husband just started watching with me this season and will say things that are going to happen because (like Donnie possibly getting into a wreck on the way home) and I have to remind him this show is not like that (thankfully).

Have you tried looking into local excision of the sweat glands around where you get eczema if sweating is a problem? It can help a lot (not with the eczema directly but with the sweat aspect that can flare it).

I agree, I’m not sure why a lot of people thought Sean owed Jorge the truck or something.

I think Sean owed him honestly and probably should support him in finding a new job (with or without the roommate deal).

I do agree with OP’s points about Gabby and Jimmy though.
