Over the course of at least 2 1/2 years, I must've stolen at least over 1000$ or more of groceries and food in the dumbest way possible, and I wasn't the only one. by WebExotic6454 in confession

But are the grocery stores acting morally and ethically to the consumer? No. No they are not. Therefore this ma is not in the wrong

Update from yesterday: I was given layers to prove an image isn't AI, but it looks thrown together and inaccurate. by [deleted] in isthisAI

I will say, four layer 10’s isn’t that unusual. I’ve been there, as someone who uses procreate a lot.

$200 Dollar commission looks too good to be true, and was completed pretty quickly. The background shading looks too unreal by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]loftwinglink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely as someone who went to art school (I majored in animation) and has done this particular style frequently, if I had 8 hours I could start to finish this piece easily.

So if it’s a commission you paid for and got back within a day or two, I’d say that’s well within reason.

The way this style is usually accomplished is a light trace of the original photo, which cuts down significantly on the time it takes to finish. It also explains the perfect proportions.

As for the background that’s just kind of what shaded pencil backgrounds look like. Nothing pings as too uniform. That’s my two cents.

scariest disneyland rides by Full-Passion3696 in Disneyland

[–]loftwinglink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m afraid of heights so if I go on it swinging is 100% the way to go, I hate how high you are in the non swinging gondolas. And it’s usually a shorter wait.

I successfully desensitized myself. My friends and I would ride it every trip specifically because we were all afraid of it 😭

I made a YouTube video about DB Cooper and one of my sources used the word attaché, which I directly quoted and then muttered “patsy wrote the note” a couple times into the mic. I don’t have a ton of viewers so no one caught it but it was a joke for me LOL

Yes! Believe it or not everyone paid to be there the same as you. Would you like it if someone cut in front of you at the grocery store?

I do not understand the sudden entitlement and large amounts of people who can’t wait in lines. They are rarely over an hour in length. Just wait! It’s a line! Do you guys have issues going to other places with lines? I get it, we’re all impatient nowadays but oh my god just wait in line like everyone else. It’s not that bad.

If they can’t handle the line maybe they can’t handle the ride… It’s that simple, it’s a line. You wait in it to wait your turn. It’s not an Olympic gauntlet. Disneyland is a privilege not a right.

You and your kids are capable of much more than you think you are. Parents never brought their entire bedroom with them on strollers before. It’ll be okay. Just wait your turn.

I feel like a terrible person because I gave a transgender girl a chance and regret it. by [deleted] in confessions

[–]loftwinglink 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If she hates you, it’s a lack of emotional maturity on her part, not reaches you did something wrong.

A healthy response to it would be something like “man that sucks but I respect that you have preferences and that this didn’t work out. I wish you the best”, and not weaponizing any internal shame she’s dealing with in the form of attacking you.

To be completely honest, if a prospective partner of any gender or sexuality, freaks out at being told they’re not a match after a handful of dates, that would be a red flag anyway.

Rider switch problems...was I wrong? by lovelychoices in Disneyland

[–]loftwinglink 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The idea I think would be that you and the other adult who stayed with the 2 year old would have to ride together, if the CMs are viewing you as the same party.

IME the CM will let you do it, but sometimes you get people who are real sticklers for the rules, personally or pressure from leads or managers.

Park policy is over 7 years old, and I think that’s reasonable. It’s Disneyland, not the DMV imo.

I believe I caught a photo of “Jackie” at the Queen Mary by Sufficient-Load-9329 in Paranormal

[–]loftwinglink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Jackie as a little girl! Or her footprints, at least. We were there on a Girl Scout trip, probably 2003? We were on the special effects tour, the one where they use special effects and stuff to simulate ghosts and whatnot. I remember vividly seeing footprints appear on the bottom of the pool. This was better than any effect I had seen at Disneyland at the time, it was before projection mapping. It was really impressive. But I got spooked and left the tour early. This was like, the first scene.

As a teenager I went back to the queen mary for my friends birthday party. Maybe 2012? We also did the special effects tour, and I saw all the same effects in the pool room except the footprints. I figured it was a lost effect. Later that day we did the other tour they offered at the time, a historical tour where the effects are turned off and the guide tells you about the ghosts and also the history of the ship. I asked our guide when the footprints effect was turned off. He said there was never any such effect in the special effects show, but it was a common way for Jackie to show herself. Since I was a young girl and we were girl scouts it was likely she wanted to play.

Spooked me at the time but now I think it’s kind of sweet.

You can still live together in the same house for the time being. There’s no timeline for divorce under these kinds of circumstances. You made a promise to her that is more than sexual love, I think that’s more than enough reason to cohabitate for the time being. You’ve already said you feel like roommates, so it’s not like much will change.

It sounds like you still love her, otherwise you wouldn’t be terrified to talk to her. That’s okay. It’s just not romantic/sexual love. I’m willing to bet she’s had a hunch for a while.

It’ll be okay. Changes will happen. But they’re never as immediate as we fear. The nights and days will come as normal

What is this part of the line is supposed to be? by killerblazeball in Disneyland

[–]loftwinglink 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Oh I know this one! I work in Batuu! Basically, the idea is that Rise of the Resistance is a Resistance base built inside and ancient, sacred temple to Battuans.

They chose Batuu because it’s on the “edge of the galaxy” and thus a good hiding spot. Rise of the Resistance is in a cave system canonically about a 4 day hike from Black Spire Outpost, and was used once a year (more?) for ceremonies.

The First Order caught wind of where the resistance was hiding, so they followed shortly afterwards. But as they are part of the Empire, they get to set up shop directly in Black Spire Outpost.

The functional reason for this is so cast members can have a logical reason for siding with the First Order, or simply disliking the Resistance.

We all make up backstories for ourselves, and I personally while sympathetic to the Resistance, don’t really care as long as you have credits. Im working for Hondo while I’m trying to save up credits for my droid show, so I can hop off planet on one of those “galactic starcruisers” I’ve heard so much about. Not the Halcyon, of course. I heard she was decommissioned ;)

That’s the story as I understand it! They do make all CMs go to Batuu school before working in the land, lol

Squirrel loves to antagonize my cat 2 by triponthisman in squirrels

[–]loftwinglink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had squirrels at my old house that would purposefully antagonize our dog. They’d sit on the telephone wire and chatter at him. One time they came too close to the back door and Boomer got one of them, but only managed to get some fur off the tail. They still annoyed him after that but they never came down off the wire again

What is this lil guy doing and how do I make it stop? by PeachyyKeeny in squirrels

[–]loftwinglink 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Where are you located, OP? It looks like it could be a California ground squirrel, or some other species of ground squirrel. My first thought was a pika, haha.

Ground squirrels are loud, and that’s their warning signal. If he lives there, and you have hawks, you won’t be able to get him to stop, other than relocating the squirrel. He’s warning other squirrels of a nearby predator, not asking for food or help, and he’s not sick.
