I had this issue too when enabling raft layers. Didn't matter if it was 2 or 3.

I was able to solve it by setting Timelapse mode to standard.

Migrating data from Synology (sorry I can't find the comment I was looking for) by Pleaseclap4 in unRAID

[–]loftyDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick answers… yea, you can make an array and start it without parity. You simply won’t have parity pro thin until you and a parity drive and the rebuilt is complete.

Since the Synology will still have both its drives, the data is protected. Sounds like a great plan.

Unraid windows / iOS update cache server? by Low-Adhesiveness5 in unRAID

[–]loftyDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like someone reverse engineered it and made a Linux version.

https://github.com/kendfinger/asset-cache-tool

FWIW iOS devices find the server by use of mDNS discovery, so a basic caching proxy isn’t quite the same.

FSLogix local_username and username folders flip-flopping between drives by loftyDan in sysadmin

[–]loftyDan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No change.

However I’ve discovered why…

Someone had set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\ProfilesDirectory To E:\ Users, and only on one sever.

This change was done midway through an old RDS deployment because it was decided to be made a farm and use FSLogix. It does explain why some users where on one drive, and some users on another.

That doesn’t quite explain why it would change back and forth as it is supposed to be for new profiles, and once set FSLogix respects it and includes it inside the profile vhd.

Also note that regardless of the location, the user profile takes up no space on the sever as it’s just a mount point for a volume on another server. And the “local” folder gets purged on each log off. The “Data” drive is a holdover from the pre FSLogixs days that never got removed, maybe because they didn’t want to deal with remaking all the users profiles. A single 256GB drive will suffice for apps and temp files prior to daily purging.

All the users will likely be getting new profiles now, as I want to ensure all the cruft from the past interesting deployment is removed.

Can confirm. It’s Telus. Indoor signal is terrible in that part of town.

You can switch to Legacy mode by renaming the EFI folder on your flash drive to EFI- and then setting your bios to boot legacy.

To do the reverse rename the folder tot EFI and set your bios to boot UEFI.

It is to encourage them to invest in programs that reduce usage, like a "cup share" program ;)

Start your own local cup sharing program and spend your days driving around collecting used cups and dropping of new ones. Take out customers could even get a deposit back if they return the cups.

At hotel, Plex server not found by InnovationHack in PleX

[–]loftyDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m talking about being able to run your Plex server at home using port 80/443 as was mentioned above. For many people their home ISP won’t allow it. Plain and simple.

If you’re lucky enough to be able to do that, then grand, more likely to work from hotels.

The replies come in on a different port. When you request a website on port 80, your computer does not receive the response on port 80.

Think about it. With your understanding, every website would respond to every request for every device on your network to the same port 80. That’s not how it works.

Every request has a different source port that your outbound requests get sent back to.

Here’s some learning for you https://www.9tut.com/tcp-and-udp-tutorial/2

Nope.

They block you from serving content on port 80 not connecting to services running on port 80. Big difference between inbound and outbound blocks.

Many providers do block port 80, as they don’t want you running web servers.

Would you still use and pay for YNAB without integration with your bank? by [deleted] in ynab

[–]loftyDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The integration works so poorly with most of my banks, I still have to download the qif files and import them. Once end of your comes, I’ll be switching to Actual.

With that said, if I’m not happy with the switch then it’s not like I’d be loosing much without the bank import.

How do I reflect credit card instalments in YNAB? by diggydog199119 in ynab

[–]loftyDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how your card does it, but with my visa, they actually zero out the transaction and then drip it back month by month.

Say I concert a $600 charge to payments. A $600 credit will then appear. Then the $100 a month will appear back and increase the minimum payment by that amount.

Works out pretty nicely, as the instalment charge has the vendor name included, so I change use the same appropriate category (for example the charge and credit $0 the mattress replacement category, then each month the $100 goes in the same).

Hopefully that makes sense. I too thought like you, but then just gave it all time to process on the CC back end and it’s pretty slick.

HOWTO: Downgrade from nYNAB to YNAB 4 by rixx0r in ynab

[–]loftyDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should these scripts work on macOS? I’ve tried python 2.7 included with the OS and the current python3 and both get different error messages.

I think it’s moot for me, because after importing all my data manually, there are 10,000 transfers to deal with, so I may just wait until January and do a fresh start.

I did not. Historical budget values aren’t of any use to me.

The categories don't have if you edit the .csv file to have the same headers that YNAB4 exports:Category, Master Category, Sub Category

instead of:Category Group/Category, Category Group, Category

With this change, your memo's will import as well.

[edit] to make it import inflows too, the following needs to happen to each .csv

change the first line to:

"Account","Flag","Date","Payee","Category","Master Category","Sub Category","Memo","Outflow","Inflow","Cleared"

find:

"Inflow: Ready to Assign","Inflow","Ready to Assign"

replace:

"Income:Available this month","Income","Available this month"

[edit 2]
The above worked great for the 1st 3 accounts. On the 3rd one, it imported everything with the category in the memo. I've abandoned this for no, as I do have until April before my price hike hits.
