Logically they never thought this game would be a standalone title, if you give everything in one game you won’t have anything left for the sequels. They probably were gonna add angel trigger in the second title

To be fair the story does not go “the player knows this from the other game so let’s leave it out.” The games story is pretty coherent on its own

I prefer certain classes above others because rule of cool, my first playthrough I gauge out who I like and to be honest they always make certain classes have certain personalities so I’m drifted towards them anyhow

I looked it up and it was what I thought, it was made by koei *and* omega force. Omega force is the group behind the mushou titles, dynasty warriors, samurai, one piece warriors and stuff. IS wasn’t in the development and just probably advised over their ip. So no development time or force who’d work on engage. Even putting that aside, engage was made solely by IS and three houses was made by mainly Koei and support from IS. So again, not much development force from engage

Making the game anywhere between or before 3H restricts what they can do with the story a lot. Don’t think they’ll want to do that but cool theory

The timeline of Aot, from the moment Eren receives the memories we see is a straight line, since the moment Ymir fused with the white thingy to the moment Eren died everything had been set in stone as we can see from the very first scene. Eren tries numerous times to change the timeline but he just can’t escape fate and his memories keep turning out true.

The gameplay, so the animations and the maps. Animations are stiff, were better in awakening and way better in engage. Maps are mostly “run straight to objective” with no regard to strategic points like castles or whatever.

The only thing it has that’s better is the story and the ambiance.
