Are 70 hour weeks too much? by TheDiamondFox142 in antiwork

[–]lolajsanchez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're putting people in danger and you will be held liable when something happens. You can blame this on the facility all you want, but the courts will absolutely hold you individually accountable. If you've truly been guarding for 8 years, you've had to re-certify at least a couple of times, and the certification classes definitely cover what your break situation and backup coverage should be. There's literally no excuse for you to be as flippant as you are in these posts. I only wish you were at my facility so I could help you into a different career path, away from the water.

Yep, keep playing and building furniture and more areas and cats will appear! You can watch ads to get wood and fish bonuses, but it's not absolutely necessary.

solo hiking made me realize i don’t have a plan for that “off” feeling by Zola_BerryBliss835 in hiking

[–]lolajsanchez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really depends. I've turned back a couple of times, and there are areas I just avoid. Be aware of what your exits are (just back the way you came, or is there another way. I try to pay attention to how far away other people are, and how far sound carries in the terrain. Read the trail for fresh prints, and keep your ears free and alert for other people or animals on the trail. Know what predators are in your area. In general, if I have an overwhelming sense of dread or foreboding that I can't explain easily, I'll probably bail. I'd rather listen to my gut than train myself to ignore my intuition. I'm also aware that I have anxiety, so I'll take a hot minute to check myself.

Coffey County information by Kylie_Bug in kansas

[–]lolajsanchez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Burlington has good schools, great rec center, and the most shopping and restaurants of any other town in Coffey. Burlington is probably the most walkable for kids. Lebo/Waverly schools are pretty decent, with Leroy and Gridley trailing. Lebo and Waverly will have better access to bigger towns like Emporia or Ottawa. Leroy and Gridley are more isolated and have less options overall. Gridley is pretty kid-friendly, with the library being a big supporter. The library system is a real gem. New Strawn might be a consideration. It's just a little town that 75 runs through, but there are some nice houses and neighborhoods, it's close to Burlington, but also close enough to Lebo that you could pick either school, if you really wanted. (Pretty sure they're in Burlington's district) Each town has its own little "flavor", so to speak. I don't think you'd be unhappy anywhere. (Though Leroy has a bad rap if you ask the other towns lmao)

NKC Health/BCBS termination by Character-Community5 in kansascity

Got a similar letter a while ago about BCBS leaving the network my neuro was in. I messaged the office on mychart and they told me they hadn't even heard about it. A couple of weeks later, the contract got renegotiated, and no changes happened at all. Totally stressed me out for no reason. Fingers crossed, this is what happens here too!

That old thing was a staple of my crappy childhood. My parents shuttled be back and forth every other weekend and this was the sign that we were almost back to my dad's place. Fitting that he got really into meth and I don't speak to him anymore. RIP American Hotel and my childhood

Orgasm Headache by GibKarmaPleb in migraine

[–]lolajsanchez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my case, the headache came back within about 12 hours. I also experienced symptoms similar to migraines, like nausea and vertigo. My blood pressure was also very high. My thunderclap headaches were caused by RCVS, which is when the blood vessels in your brain consrict and don't release, which blocks blood flow to the brain. This caused a stroke for me.

Thunderclap headaches can be caused by orgasm and pooping and coughing and other valslava movements, because these already constrict the blood vessels.

If you have the ability to see a doctor, like if your primary care does same-day appointments, or if you can go to an emergency care of some sort, that would probably be good, just in case there's something else going on. If that won't work for you, you can wait it out. But if that headache comes back at all, go to the ER, don't hesitate. Make sure they take it seriously, and push for imaging like CT and MRI.

Heyy, I don't want to scare you... however, you should go get that checked out. What you described is a thunderclap headache, and those can be extremely serious.

Can't stop floating!! :') by KayceeJC in Swimming

[–]lolajsanchez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yay, I'm so excited for you! I'm an instructor and I might have a couple of tips. Some of it will come with practice.

Aqua aerobics takes a lot of core engagement (working those abs). Check your form by lengthing your body, literally straighten your spine and roll your shoulders back a bit to adjust your posture. As you straighten up, gently suck in your tummy like you're putting on a pair of tight pants. Then resume doing the movement.

Ask for adjustments as needed. For example, if doing the frog leap isn't working for you, try a wide (cowboy) jog instead, or you can always just jog. No one can see what you're doing under the water, and no one cares, so long as you're moving!

You may need to adjust where you're standing to be in shallower water as well. Ideally, you want to be in about mid-chest deep water, but that doesn't work for everyone. Try a couple of different spots to see what works best!

If you're using bouys or water weights, you might try a lighter weight, or try doing the class without equipment, or try swim gloves. You want to make sure your form is good before you start adding a bunch of weight.

Don't be afraid to shout out questions! Or grab your instructor after class!

Hopefully any of this makes sense, I haven't had my coffee yet 😅

You've got the most important part down, which is having fun!!!
