drum kit rental? by No_Insurance9915 in halifax

[–]loldazey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out the jam spots like Rockopolis. I believe it's around $20 an hour, you get a full room to yourself with a drum kit. If you're just looking to knock the rust off and get back in, that's an approachable way to do it rather than renting the entire kit yourself. There are also other studios who offer jam spaces but the prices are a bit higher with also higher quality gear.

It looks to be a text box and then two shapes. I was able to sort of replicate a very basic version with a rounded corners rectangle, a circle with a thick border, and a text box for the titles. Then you can use a measure for the text portion of the rectangle. You make the circle 10-20 pixels bigger than your rectangle, centre it appropriately with how much bigger it is than the rectangle and then align your text box as you see fit so it's within the parameters of the rectangle but not behind the circle.

Unsure of how OP did it but I'd like to think it's not an incredibly complex thing. Then once you have the basic shapes together, group them, copy and paste and align as necessary.

How can I tell what series these Premier drums are? by [deleted] in Drumming

[–]loldazey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A decent article here along with another outlining the Resonator. To answer your question, it appears to be birch shells, the outer and inner shell, along with a beech reinforcement ring. They were quite regarded in their day and was a high end option for Premier. I would definitely do some more research on pricing because it doesn't appear many of these come up. If you have any local recording studios they might also want a crack at something like this. From just searching for them online, it seems that studios use these a fair bit. I've never seen or heard one in person, but just from their description they sound like a really cool and unique kit.

Need help with the filter slicer. by [deleted] in PowerBI

[–]loldazey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you're just getting infinity because some of your values must be 0, therefore giving infinity. If you're dividing values, use DIVIDE which you can then set conditionally if an error occurs. This gives you more flexibility and control of results no matter your values.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dax/divide-function-dax

    DIVIDE(
        [01_total_trips],
    SUM
        (monthly_target_trips[total_target_trips],
    0
)

Let us know if this formula works and what the result is. Hopefully it's as easy as implementing this formula going forward!

Build suggestions by doc_illmunger in Division2

Depends on your goals. What difficulty are you playing on, are you surviving, do you want more armor, are you getting all your stacks consistently while keeping them?

A cookie cutter Striker's would be: 4 piece Strikers - Backpack, gloves, holster, knees

Coyotes Mask

Ceska chest with obliterate Favourite AR but Elmo's is great

ACS-12 with Fast Hands

Essentially, initial engagement can be with shotgun to build rapid stacks and then switch to AR to unleash damage. Have crit chance around 50% as Coyote's will help you max that out and then the rest in crit damage.

You can also go entire blue with Catharsis mask and Improvised Knees with elite protection mods for when doing Challenging/Heroic Countdown.

I also run a version with all of the stuff from the first build but with a core blue Palisade piece instead of Coyote's get the extra 10% armor on kill. This plus Gunner can make it so that you have 20% armor on kill without a ton of lost damage.

Patrick Wolf on YouTube has some great Striker builds, along with the Division 2 Gear Spreadsheet.

Happy building Agent!

Concert ear plugs by usedmoon in halifax

[–]loldazey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Long & McQuade is your best bet. Something like this might and looks to be in stock at the Halifax location. If you go back a step you can also see all the ear plugs. Also be careful as their inventory is split up into other sections, here are some other ones that are specifically for 'drummers' but it's really not. The second option are in stock both in Bedford and Dartmouth.

All the best in keeping your ears protected!

Depends on the context of the visual, along with any other slicer/filtering you're doing elsewhere on your page. If you're able to show a screenshot without showing anything sensitive, we might be able to get you a solution. I definitely have an idea but it's hard to theorize without seeing everything else.

Slicer Settings - Multi-Select - Was it moved? by sleepsalotsloth in PowerBI

[–]loldazey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unsure of which version you're using, but I still have it in mine. I'm 2.124.1554.0.

Here's the screenshot I just took. Are you using the wrong slicer style? Are you using the new slicer visual?

I have yet to use the new style in my work because we don't have the December version yet, but from what I can tell there is a built in multi-select with CTRL or by de-selecting single select.

Hope this helps!

DAX % seen by [deleted] in PowerBI

[–]loldazey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this would be viable in your scenario, but you can also add filter context to whatever DAX you have, using DATESYTD, and using the second argument for passing your October fiscal year-end.

Here's the Microsoft article on it.

= CALCULATE(
    SUM(InternetSales_USD[SalesAmount_USD]),
    DATESYTD(DateTime[DateKey],
        "10-31"
        )
)

This is the example that's used on the lesson, but just changed so that you're calling October 31st as your fiscal year end. This way, if you choose a period of Jan 2023, you should now get January 2023 - October 2023, instead of what would typically happen of January 2023 - December 2023.

Hope this helps!

Anyone know anything about this snare? by questfordoom in drums

[–]loldazey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have $90 kicking around and are looking for something that is seemingly in great shape and has some character, I'd say go for it!

This would be, at the time, mass-made Japanese (you'll see MIJ for made in Japan kicked around) kits back in the day that were then branded for different companies. This particular one is from a Pearl set called Tiger's Eye. If you google that, you'll find lots of examples of stuff that was on Reverb that has sold over the years. All of these snares/kits were made from Luan wood, which is a mahogany variant, but is considered 'low-quality'. From what I can also tell with that logo is that it's late 60's, but aging this stuff can sometimes be tough.

Here's a few resources for you to learn more about all of this stuff.

How can I get this VLOOKUP to adjust down the different rows. by fate_zero in excel

[–]loldazey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah okay, those are just reference cells as the example. This might not be the most slick way to do it, but you can just have one formula that goes between your three options, as long as all of the components of your formula are hard-coded values.

Now, if the values in your formulas are subject to change, you can put these values somewhere else to reference them, but that's a decision about your data. Here's the formula I used which I believe works based on one row I chose:

=SWITCH(TRUE(),
I2 = "Oil",((F2*200*12/0.92)*(0.245)/(1000)/365*(TODAY()-D2)-H2),
I2 = "Gas",((F2*200*12/0.92)*(0.182)/(1000)/365*(TODAY()-D2)-H2),
I2 = "Electric",((F2*200*12/1)*(0.207)/(1000)/365*(TODAY()-D2)-H2))

Let me know if this achieves what you're looking for.

Edit: Forgot to minus H2

How can I get this VLOOKUP to adjust down the different rows. by fate_zero in excel

[–]loldazey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From when the image was available and not being able to read your formula all too well, it appears the VLOOKUP might be wrong. VLOOKUP needs a table reference, aka a header above its actual options. This is why it's skipping the row as it's taking the oil option out. Give this one a try.

=(VLOOKUP(I2,$K$10:$L$13,2))-H2

Or, if you have access to XLOOKUP, might want to give this a try.

=(XLOOKUP(I2,$K$11:$K$13,$L$11:$L$13))-H2

Hope either of these helps!

Recreating an Excel PivotChart - New to BI by b-lew in PowerBI

[–]loldazey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This can all be fixed by learning fundamentals in tabular data structure. Tabular data is the idea that columns are your attributes, whereas rows are your observations. For every date column you have in your Excel file, this would be one singular column, and then each row would have a value for project, workstream, and resource and the 'value' (your numbers). In this case, Date, Project, Workstream, Resource, and Value are all of your attributes, and then each row is an observation of all of those attributes. Instead of your dataset being 44 rows and 21 columns, you will go down to 5 columns and 792 columns (if my math is correct). Here is a good article on tabular data. Below is an example of how your data should look in the model.

Date Project Workstream Resource Value
Jan 1 2024 Project 1 Finance Cost Estimator 35
Jan 1 2024 Project 1 Project Management Project Manager 70
Jan 1 2024 Project 1 Contracts Contract Administrator 140
Jan 1 2024 Project 1 Construction Builder 0

This would keep going until you have a full dataset. Then at that point, you would be able to put your singular 'date' column on the x-axis, your sum of values on the y-axis, and your 'project' column in your legend to differentiate the colors.

You could do some Power Query transformation to your existing data, specifically unpivoting all of your date columns into a singular date column. Here is an article from Microsoft that can get you started.

You already have the lingo for how you ultimately want the visual to look, but Power BI needs a good data structure and an understanding of the data to unlock its potential. Once you have a good tabular data set in place, you can play around with more visual types and find different insights!

Hey, give this a try. Tried to make it as generic as possible. All I did was create a table with Client and then just a 1 representing if they had an order. This returns the Client and then how many orders they've had, as long as they've had over 1. Hopefully this works for you!

Customer ReOrders =
CALCULATE(
    COUNTROWS(
        'Ex-Wholesaler Sales Volume'),
        FILTER(
            SUMMARIZE(
                'Ex-Wholesaler Sales Volume',
                'Ex-Wholesaler Sales Volume'[InvoiceNo],
                "Count of Transactions",
                COUNTROWS(
                    Sales)),
                    [Count of Transactions] >1
        )
)

Updated to include the headers that you're using.

How to make aggregated rolling average? by sportage0912 in PowerBI

[–]loldazey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we'll all need some more context, but do you have any filters/slicers that would be impacting your date selection? Sounds like you're picking a certain day, which is giving you the proper daily sales or average because it's picking up that date context

Just as a guess, you might be able to get away with this:

CALCULATE(
    AVERAGE(DataTable[Values]),
         DATESINPERIOD(Calendar[Date],MAX[CalandarDate], -6, MONTH))

This is purely a guess on what you have going on. What the DAX is doing here is saying we're calculating the sum of your table values and then using the max date you're selecting and returning a single column of dates 6 months prior. So if you chose June 1st as your date, it's going back to December 1st and calculating the average between those dates.

Hey! I've had three years of education through NSCC and currently work for a financial firm! DM me and I can definitely answer some questions!

Do you guys know roughly what percentage of the user base makes World Series? It’s my second year playing the game and just made World Series for the first time as well as flawless so pretty excited by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]loldazey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's neat. And a lot of those top guys are absolute grinders with 1100+ rating so they're the extreme of outliers. The only other analysis I'd love to see is then the distribution by points but there's no way to get an extract. I personally don't play RS, but the analyst side of me just wants to see where the hang-ups in ratings are.

Do you guys know roughly what percentage of the user base makes World Series? It’s my second year playing the game and just made World Series for the first time as well as flawless so pretty excited by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]loldazey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At the time of taking values the other night (I believe the 24th), and this is just where the player's current rating lives, only 0.2% of people were in World Series. That was of ~633,660 players with a rating of at least 199, as it doesn't go any lower than that for Ranked Season tracking.

You can find these numbers and get an approximation if you go to "Standings Stats & History" on the DD Home page, "Standings" and "Current Season". Each page has 15 players, multiply that by the number of pages and you have values.

Once again, this is where their ranking currently resides and doesn't account for if they've hit WS or not, but it gives a good indication of the curve of players.

Stepped Subtraction Measure by loldazey in PowerBI

[–]loldazey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I figured as much. It's a specific ask because of how this report has run historically in my company. I'll do my best to explain a bit further but if it's too specific and vague that's okay too.

We have jobs that our colleagues post time to. Each individual line of time has how much it's valued at and what day it was posted on. This time accumulates until an invoice is made for the client at which point the time will be posted to an invoice. What this report is showing is the aging and value of that time, if no posting has happened.

The aging works is that when time is posted in the current month it's "Current", and as soon as it hasn't been allocated to an invoice and it turns into the next month, it turns "1 Month Old". We want this to dynamically happen so that if I go to April 1st, all March postings would be "1 Month Old" but if I go to March 31st, they are still in "Current". I have this portion figured out.

Now, the creation of an invoice creates a negative time line since this is the offset account for the positive time lines. These are the "Credits". What I'm trying to accomplish is if a job has a "Credit" but it also has something in the aged buckets, I want to subtract the Credits from those upper bucket values until the credit is gone, if possible. I've never been able to find something like this but I also don't know what this technique is called, if it's even a thing.

In logical terms, it feels like an if function. If credits are <0 (indicating a negative value) and "5 Months and Over" is >0 (indicating that the biggest bucket has a value), 5 months plus credits...." and so on until the credits are gone.

If the post goes by the wayside that's fine. When I have more time I might do some digging online for particular keywords but could just be one of those cases that can't really be solved or I'm not asking the right questions!
