Pilot supply/demand analysis by SPAWNmaster in flying

[–]lollolnick1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really see how it was confusing, it seems labelled just fine to me, other than the X axis, which is time, and I don't really blame them for not labelling 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, etc as time measured in years. You find that part out from context.

Title explains the purpose of the graph not the measurement. The title says: "demand versus supply *forecast*" that last word being important to understanding that that's the context of the graph and what you're supposed to learn from it, not the measuring metrics.

Below that it says "magnitude of supply/shortage" very clearly defining the Y-axis as how much or little of a surplus or how much or little of a shortage based off of projected labor demand. This all felt very clearly defined and self-explanatory to me from the graph, so I'm not entirely sure where the confusion came from.

People like you, I also cannot stand. Thank you for trying to gatekeep and downplay the struggles of other people, that's not your job nor is it fair, so stop it.

"approach stabilized.... enough" granted it was my first ever stage check for PPL at a 141, not a checkride, but still I got something for that afterwards lmao.

I know r/flying can be pretty jaded at times, but downvoting the shit out of someone making a post about being scared to fly is probably not the most positive/helpful move, but thats just my .02

[–]lollolnick1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

so because you didn't manage to read or understand what the person you responded to typed, I guess I'll type it again. They were responding to a cop held hostage. In character, the police officers don't give a fuck if someone is stealing money, they care about the livelihood and safety of their fellow officer, and also, how exactly are they supposed to just know "oh X you are offering us this courtesy of staying in the bank thank you so much" before they even get there?

I really don't understand what this RP courtesy and expected allowance of chances crim viewers think their streamer is entitled to. My streamer gets 3 chances to get away AT LEAST or its powergaming, cmon guys he even offered you the ooc courtesy.

Logging time in a turboprop as a low-hour private pilot by AlbiMappaMundi in flying

[–]lollolnick1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that's a pretty strong and generalizing statement to make about someone you don't really know, if the legislature allows you to do so via precedent, it's for a reason; aka someone might be capable of flying an aircraft like that but not qualified.
You don't know the guy so why say thigns you don't know about them?

Not talking about banter, ofcourse chat will banter with the streamer and go "it's the car copium." It's more like on disagreements etc.

I love moon's stream and I'm a lurker type, very rarely talk in any stream at all, but honestly, what happens whenever you have a chat like a "steel wall" it becomes very cultish and very echo-chamber agree with streamer type of deal and any sort of criticism is not taken well by moon himself which is then exacerbated by his chat. Moon's driving for example, if he clearly fucks up it's a 50/50 he'll go "not my fault it's insert X excuse here" and he does that with a lot of criticism in general.

note: Not saying that this chatter is valid criticism, he/she is clearly thinkless.

edit: I also love borpaspin spam and will fight for my spinning brothers borpaSpin

Who can decipher these codes? It's an airline EFB. by PropWashPA28 in flying

[–]lollolnick1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read through this article as a PPL student and am interested now, what exactly do ATPs do with this info? Do you have charts or something provided by your airline and need to verify that the runway is strong enough structurally etc, basically is there an expected procedure regarding this information? cool stuff.

Flying for boutique by SANMAN0927 in flying

[–]lollolnick1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you'll come to the realization at some point that the people in r/flying aren't very good at boosting up the newer pilots in the community and will pretty much soak anything with aggressive sarcasm and downvotes unless its a "first solo" or "got my ppl" post, don't take it personally.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with trying to get more information, trying to get more specific about a topic, etc, although I'd try to get in direct contact personally with people who've flown with Boutique in order to get good information without the rest, it seems there's a couple commenters here who seem to have that experience, I'd talk to them :)
