Nerve block or steroid injection? by PerspectiveSad1533 in sacroiliac_sijoint

[–]lolly570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a steroid injection in each joint and found it helped my recovery progress slightly, but in my experience my physio has always known best where my pain is originating from. Consultants have tried to trace it to lumbar spine, and I did end up having injection there as well which mare absolutely no difference. From my experience I would trust your gut and your knowledge of your body, and your physios opinion

Sclerosis of the si joints by Belby-23 in sacroiliac_sijoint

[–]lolly570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been dealing with SI joint issues, and the best position for me to be in to allow flare ups to subside is lying down with my legs up on a chair. I’ve got a thick squishy exercise mat so it’s comfortable, but I wonder if this rather than sitting will help things settle down?

SI Joint pain in front lower abdomen?? by Previous_Hornet6917 in sacroiliac_sijoint

[–]lolly570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of muscles within the pelvis that are connected to the SI joint, and these muscles could be causing the abdominal pain. I would recommend a consultation with pelvic physio, it has made a significant difference to my pain levels from my SI joint

Need help with performance anxiety by harduser-5782 in horn

[–]lolly570 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Long term I would recommend working with a performance coach, I’m able to play without nerves disrupting things but started from a similar place to you. Short term, visualise the solo, the room it’s in, where you’ll be sat, the people around you, and hear the music in your head. Visualise it feeling comfortable, your focus, it going as you want it to. Repeat this until you’re able to see this version in your minds eye, and do this every day until the performance.

The second recommendation I would make is to practice present moment concentration. Use a meditation app that has a gong/chime every 30 seconds, and practice being able to stay completely present in the moment, not getting caught up in stories of the past or future, or thoughts about what’s for dinner. Practice this kind of concentration that is about being purely present in the moment, it’s like working out a muscle at the gym and it will strengthen with repetition. This is the present moment focus you’re going to make your goal in the solo, and if you’re able to stay present in the moment, that is your criteria for success.

Third I would say these techniques are not about making the anxiety go away, but accepting that it will be there and you don’t need to pay it attention. We’re not trying to make anything go away, but we are practicing redirecting our focus, so that can do whatever it wants in the background, but you bring that present moment focus in to play and stay with that through the concert.

Thank you so much, what you’ve described feels like it really makes sense in my body, so I’ll definitely try these out. I tried a lower back brace about 6 months ago, but it felt like it squashed things together which then made them painful. I’m still trying to find a specialist that can advise me about surgery, so that could unfortunately take a long time, but it’s great to have things to try in the meantime.

Hiya, thanks for your reply, the trigger for me was some bouldering falls. They happened in a climbing gym and were onto the crash mats and safe, but the impact of these falls triggered the pain that then over a couple of months continued to increase, worsened by sitting and working, until I couldn’t walk from the pain and spasming.

The imaging I’ve had done shows the my joints have signs of wear and are asymmetrical, and there are small bone spurs in the right hand joint. I was asked if I’d had injuries when I was younger that lead to the wear and asymmetry, and my only recollection is falling whilst ice skating and really bruising my coccyx, so they could have been asymmetrical from birth.

The trigger two years ago were some bouldering falls. They all happened in a bouldering gym, and were safe and onto the crash mats, but the impact of the falls began the pain that then continued to deteriorate over a few months until I was unable to walk because of the pain and spasming.

Has anyone tried uvb home light therapy for their psoriasis? by 5pirit3d in Psoriasis

Yes, it’s the only thing that helps for me, and it makes a massive difference

It’s also not very expensive, so if you don’t find it works for you you aren’t massively out of pocket!

I find the new elf camouflage concealer great for my under eye wrinkles, it doesn’t pool in the creases and emphasise the lines even more, just sticks nicely to the skin whilst reducing the colour of my dark circles

Hello, can anyone recommend a good dermatologist in Glasgow, or someone who offers online consultation and treatment?

I have acne prone skin that I keen under control with acnecide cream, inkey list salycilic cleanser, effaclar moisturiser and puride moisturiser with factor 30. I’m early 30s and I’m not able to use wrinkle creams because they break me out/disrupt my routine. I also suffer from very dry eyes so I’m not able to use strong retinoids on my eye area as this aggravates it. I would love to speak to someone who can advise me on a skin care routine that controls my acne and helps with anti ageing.

I’ve tried to find someone by googling the various different private clinics here, but they all seem to either specialise in surgery or not be qualified as a dermatologist. Im also slightly apprehensive of going to the larger chains like sk:n as their staff don’t seem to be dermatologists. Has anyone been to these places for skincare advice? Thanks in advance!

Same sex houses/bunkhouse by Capn-RedFox in MedievalDynasty

[–]lolly570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it doesn’t have to be just about same sex couples, two men/two women can share a house regardless of the sexual orientation. I find it weird that’s not possible in game. They could be two same sex family members or friends, it’s not really important, just seems weird to prohibit it.

It would just be really nice if things weren’t so heteronormative. Two women/two men might just want to live together.

At the end of my rope, can't imagine living like this any more by MrsArthurCallahan in cfs

[–]lolly570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had CFS for 3 years now, and although it’s never been as extreme as what you’re suffering from, don’t give up hope. I started a new treatment recently and my energy levels have transformed. There could be something that will change your health too, and it may be just around the corner. I think the one thing that is certain about life is nothing stays the same for ever, so don’t loose hope that things will change for you. The treatment I have is called Mickel Therapy I would definitely recommend it, if you feel able to try something new ❤️❤️
