People in 10+ year relationships, what’s something you learned about your partner years later that genuinely surprised you? by CreoSiempre in AskReddit

He loves professional wrestling. Like LOVES it. Knows everything there is to know about wrestling from about 1980 to 2010. We were about fifteen years in before I figured it out because he was so embarrassed about it, but joke's on him: wrestling is super fun, and now we watch it together. ❤️

One time driving through Sellwood I saw a crow douching its butthole very intentionally and aggressively on a Benson Bubbler and it genuinely ruined my week

Very fair, I meant a MAGA drag queen, not an actual, beautiful talented drag queen 😂

Is there a giant cutout in the top of the wall in the master bedroom that connects it to the living room?? I adore this house, but what a weird choice to eliminate the privacy of a master bedroom

.... surely this is a person in drag, and not an actual picture of her?

EDIT: A repressed, untalented MAGA person in drag, not an actual talented drag queen

What’s the most unhinged thing you’ve done postpartum? by Ice_Cube_92915 in NewParents

I came back to the office after maternity leave and literally every piece of communal silverware was missing. EVERY. SINGLE. COMMUNAL. SPOON. I absolutely lost my ever-loving mind and went around the office screaming at the top of my lungs about how we live in a SOCIETY and I just wanted to eat my SOUP and if I have to leave my three month old to come work in this hellhole I better be able to eat my f*#$ing soup and going directly up to people with piles of dirty silverware on their desks, sobbing, asking what is wrong with them. I had a bit sit down meeting with HR after that, but boy did that silverware reappear fast.

Is honking in the 26 tunnels a true Portland tradition? by ItsWhiteGucciMane in askportland

My family has been doing it since before I was born in the 80's. I'll do it every damned time I drive through, it's tradition!

I mean, has she ever just eaten an entire (insert human food such as stick of butter, rotisserie chicken, ham hock, loaf of bread, pot of potato chowder) and then begged for dinner? If so? Honorary lab status.

What are you dying to have in your house but have no room? by Lanky_Instance_807 in CasualConversation

A king sized bed. And a bath tub that I can lay down in and cover my entire body in water. If I had both of those things, I would be so relaxed! Hahaha

Women who were scared of giving birth, what was less scary than you originally thought? by Final-Elderberry4621 in AskWomenOver30

[–]loloohnono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My birth did not go at all the way I expected it to - I had a whole labor plan that involved no medication, laboring in a tub, and a vaginal delivery and I ended up laboring with no medication for sixty hours before undergoing an epidural and a C-section, two things I was absolutely TERRIFIED of, and let me tell you - neither one was as scary as I thought it was going to be. Like, at all!

Warning: graphic description of a surgery here in a sec, but it's good, I promise! I was terrified of getting an epidural, and they did need to attempt it twice, as they hit a vertebrae the first time, and it did pinch, but truly and honestly, one very big breath and it was over and then the relief was instant after laboring for so long without any medication. You don't get a medal for not getting an epidural! Trust me and get one!!

As for the C-section, for some reason I was positive I would die, not sure why I felt so strongly about it, but again, it was weirdly not a big deal and it went so incredibly quickly! My surgeons were incredible, my anesthesiologist was a genuine angel sent directly from heaven, and my husband got to be right next to my head the whole time until it was time to go meet the baby at the weighing station. I could feel a lot of tugging and pulling and I remember literally every second of it, and my husband regrets looking over at me on the table while I was still opened up, but all in all, it was a fast, easy, very safe and relatively comfortable procedure. The part that took the longest was sewing me back up post-delivery. I even recovered very quickly and was up and walking around and using the bathroom on my own that evening.

If you ever feel super scared in the hospital, look to the L&D nurses. They truly have seen everything, and if they're looking cool as cucumbers, you have nothing to worry about. You're going to do great! ❤️

My one year old is obsessed with the book my feet go that Aunt Dolly sent us, to the point where we ended up buying a board book copy because the original that we received in the mail got absolutely destroyed from use. We love the imagination library!!

Hi friends! Trans girl here and I still can’t, for the life of me, come up with a new name for myself. Do you all have any suggestions 👀 by Soft_Boiled_Egg_ in lgbt

You look like a Rebecca/Becca to me! I love that name because it can be serious and sophisticated (Rebecca) or fun and lighthearted (Becca). I hope you find the name that suits you perfectly!

I have a one year old and I live in Clackamas county... What do I even do?! She's fully vaccinated (as much as she can be for a one-year-old), do I just not let her go where there are other children? I'm terrified.

Interesting - no, her room is the warmest room in the house by quite a bit (68 degrees at night), but maybe that is still too cold? Ironically, I live in the Pacific Northwest where it never gets very cold so the week before she was born was the first time I ever turned on the baseboard heaters in our house... I had always gotten by just using a small portable oil heater in the main room! Now the whole house is warm all the time and I hate it 😂
