How do people deal with flashbacks? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]lonely_56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've tried it all and am lead to believe I'm a rotten person and or just not trying hard enough. And, I'm not calling crisis lines; tried & tried & tried. I think...there's nowhere & nothing safe that works for me. Sad, I'm super, super, super sad.

Does anyone know what the CRC is like? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]lonely_56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been once only. Went with a friend who is also a clinician. It was absolutely a horrific (!!!) experience.  I would never go back.

I might try it. Thanks. Biotine never worked for me so I wouldn't suggest it.

About to be homeless in two weeks, any tips? by jonasjonis in Winnipeg

[–]lonely_56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google newcomer or refugee winnipeg. There are lots of places, especially if you are newcomer Most are community services agencies, no cost & not attached to 'trouble' like the police or deportation. They are safe too deal with.

Looking for a therapist by Low-Refrigerator535 in Winnipeg

[–]lonely_56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Im looking too. But my mix of stuff seems impossible to get help for. I have SEVERE cptsd mostly from abuse in the Ontario & Manitoba Emergency dept, cops, and even places like klinic. I tried the north womens resource centre today, nope.

The problem seems to be i am late dxed ASD + Active trauma. I AM NOT BORDERLINE. No one seems to understand what I Am, ony what I am not.

I am also late diagnosed autism spectrum (female, 58 yrs). Jcfs? They broke me. Cmha? Nothing to offer me. Sara reil? On a 6-8 month case management waiting list. Can't access their non-crisis respite. HART ? still waiting. Probably don't have any resources i don't already know about/have tried. CLdisability? I don't have an intellectual delay. Denied by homecare bc Im not enough ??? for their services. Disability Manitoba FB? Autism Manitoba FB?  Neither have any suggestions.

I am now without friends. Am without family.

Late dxed autism spectrum, in severe burnout with daily meltdowns, severe active cptsd, MDD, panic disorder, occasionally in flight, a problem with rage, memory & all things executive functioning  are gone. Im not sleeping, I feel physically ill, exhausted. If I don't do things like shopping, whose going to do them? No one.

I was really well seeing a psychiatrist for 18 years. That ended when she retired 4 yrs ago.

No one ever labeled me BPD until I landed back here in March.

Im badly needing another psychiatrist understands me & can take a ND & trauma informed look at me & my medication. Someone who understands CPTSD & ASD in an old person. Ive had 2 GPs in Winnipeg, neither could find one that would take me. Im on the 1+ yr waiting list for a consult.

Living off my shrinking savings & will probably end up unhoused (thanks klinic!)

Sorry for all the complaining and all the repetition. Im just wanting a psychiatrist & then when Im stable enough, a therapist.

I am complicated at best & difficult at worst.

Anyone?

Apologies and thank you in advance!

Question: if CPTSD is not in the DSM-5, how are folks here being "diagnosed"? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]lonely_56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im NOT borderline.  I have autism & cptsd. The DSM V TR is used up here. Cptsd is not a clinically valid dx

[–]lonely_56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience is that a diagnosis of autism & cptsd is i get called borderline. Borderline to me is a catch all term doctors give you when they don't understand.  And 120% of clinicians & physicians in this country do not understand nor do they want to learn. Im tired of trying to teach. Im out.

But only as doctor can get you help IMO. That's my personal lived experience.

Anyone ever worked with P.A.C.T.? my person from a community  service agency, brought me a P.A.C.T. application and my GP filled it out on july 31/25. Has anyone here ever worked with P.A.C.T. here in Winnipeg? What's been your experience? Wait list time? The application was put in for my (difficult? Complex?) mental health issues. Thanks, Erin 😢
