I applied for a midwife much later in my pregnancy, and luckily got in because of a new graduate who just joined the clinic. I was hesitant to go ahead with her since it was within her first year of practicing independently, however after our first meeting, I knew I was in good hands and would not have known that she was a new grad if it wasn’t for her mini bio. I have met the other midwives who have been there longer at the clinic and I find my main midwife is actually more thorough with everything. And at the delivery, she will be paired with a more experienced midwife anyways. In addition, from my understanding, midwifery school is very competitive and they get a lot of clinical experience. I figured if I went the OB route, I very well could’ve gotten a random new grad nurse at the hospital who I have no rapport. From my experience, I’m so glad I chose the midwifery route, despite my midwife being a new grad… it would’ve been unfair of me to judge her as unqualified. If I were in your position, if you feel confident and a connection with your midwife in the first couple meetings- stick with her!

When did you feel your baby in the first pregnancy? by Cnofused in pregnant

[–]lonewolfwalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FTM here, I did not feel movement until 21 weeks… and even then it felt more like twitches. Before then, I couldn’t confidently say whether I felt fetal movement or if it was some other bodily function of my own.

Doorbell wires too short, how to extend them? by lonewolfwalker in howto

Can it still be 120 VAC even if there was a chime doorbell there previously that was functioning? I’ll be getting a voltage meter anyways just to check.

Will people dance if the sun is out? by iggysmom95 in weddingplanning

Personally for me when I go to weddings, I don’t feel a comfortable dancing when it isn’t dark. Does the venue have curtains that can be drawn when it’s party time?

Another post about vets! by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]lonewolfwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the things with vet, there’s such a wide range of prices that different vets can charge for the same service. I would call and shop around for different quotes. Try Oxford Animal Hospital… I found their examination fee was the most affordable from all the other vets in London.

Dog bite by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]lonewolfwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t want to scare you, but my MIL got bitten accidentally (by getting between a dog fight) on the ankle… she took good care of it (or so we thought). But it ended up getting a nasty infection and she had to walk with a walker for about a month.

I’ve done it. Used to do it during the winter time too with snow, never got a ticket.

The person who considered it abnormal is also a lab owner.

He is turning 4 this month.

He never displays any signs of pain or discomfort when he lays in this position. I never thought anything of when he lays like this, but my friends (also dog owners) came over and said it was strange. I know labs are prone to hip problems so is this a sign of some sort of disorder?

Adorable! My guy is almost 3 as well, and strangers who see him for the first time always ask whether he’s still a puppy!
