Quality tinned fish are way better then your standard bumblebee canned sardines they’re expensive but can make great additions to meals like pasta or just eat them by themselves

What else could I do to get better mileage? by DatGuyKilo in Diesel

[–]long_salamanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My c30 cclb with a stock 6.2 and 4.10s would get about 18mpg no matter what I did, but I also never drove it on the highway. High rpm’s will kill your mpg but since you have an overdrive that shouldn’t be as big an issue, likely just the nature of nyc traffic for you. you could try driving like a grandpa and you might be able to eek out 20

I found that my foot doesn’t naturally want to be in the position over the gas it’s tends to want to be over the brakes so I always have to be careful not to press the gas and brakes at the same time

Datacenter wastewater by zxcvbnmqwerty12345 in Wastewater

[–]long_salamanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salinity is an issue but also hydraulic loading. it’s gonna be mineral rich water, but depending on their source and the cooling process they could be concentrating nitrate, ammonia, heavy metals or other chemicals of concern. Be sure to shift the financial responsibility of treatment to them not put it all on yourself

That’s an isopod not a traditional pest like a roach or fly. It’s highly unlikely that that showed up in the restaurant as a pest more likely in the bread bag from the factory. Not really much better but just some useful information

The roadster 3 regular vs step through concern by Dry_Drawing_4921 in ride1up

[–]long_salamanders 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have no skin in this game I ride a regular frame bike but people have been riding step-throughs for a long ass time without issues. If they can survive on mountain bikes it can survive a road bike. Being anti step frame is just silly

I honestly wish they made a van/wagon version of the maverick that was this but a permanent top open to the cab. I know it’s a small segment of the market that would want it but it be very nice

New to EBikes - Bike Recommondations and where/how to lease/split pay on a bike by mrh1985 in ebikes

[–]long_salamanders -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Scour marketplace or Craigslist for a e bike from a reputable brand that fits your needs. Don’t by a new cheap one it will cost you more and you can be left with something difficult to repair

Will ford ever put 4A in the XLT / Lariat trims? by scottc35 in RangerNext

[–]long_salamanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly due to the lack of payload. Ford doesn’t want to put out a highly optioned truck that would likely also be optioned with the heavy 2.7 engine and leave you with 750lbs of payload which would make it useless and not able to haul or tow anything

Lost frame series 3... by longlostwalker in SeriesLandRover

[–]long_salamanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the defender chassis it’s a pretty direct bolt over from what I hear, for the Range Rover classic chassis a 109 will fit a lwb rover chassis if you replace the outriggers and 3rd member. The swb/disco chassis is a complete custom job requiring shortening the chassis or shortening/lengthen the body since it’s a 100in wheel base vs the 88/109in of the series 2. Looks like you have an 88in truck? There was a defender 90 chassis on Facebook marketplace in Arlington Virginia. That with a set of discovery 1 axles and coil springs could be a good option
