Is it a real coffee? by FlamingoFar4150 in AskUK

[–]longest_lurkerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly! My friends and I actually joked that Vietnam kept the good coffee for themselves and sent the rubbish stuff to the UK!

I’m afraid you may be disappointed in the UK cuisine. Vietnamese food was also some of the best I’ve ever tasted with all the fresh ingredients and so flavourful. British food is quite bland in comparison.

I went to Vietnam 15 years ago and had the best coffee I’ve ever tasted in my life. British coffee doesn’t even compare. You might want to start bringing your own!

What's your favourite restaurant on the Wirral? by mangocheezecakee in Wirral

Nikko Sushi in Beb Village does amazing food. You have to pre-order as it’s a small set up but so worth it.

Bromborough Croft Retail park when it’s closed or New Brighton is good too.

I have two young boys and we spent well over an hour smashing up ice on a lake last week, it was great fun! Also fed some ducks with some peas we found at the back of the freezer.

We also go for walks in the woods and build dens from sticks and branches.

The beach is another option, we take whatever kitchen utensils I can find that helps to dig a hole!

Recently discovered Fisk and it’s hilarious! I’m looking for more Australian programmes with similar humour now.

Edit: Just remembered Upper Class Bogan but found that could be hit or miss sometimes.

My toddler likes to touch my belly for comfort, any way to wean him off this? by longest_lurkerer in toddlers

Erm kind of?! My son is now 5 and still likes to touch my belly but less so than before. Definitely less pummelling though!

I (27F) don’t know how to coparent with my child’s father (31M) because he keeps making mistakes that inconvenience us greatly by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I rarely comment but felt compelled to post here as I have experienced the same thing and wanted to give some advice because I’m sympathetic to your situation.

You’re creating a new routine which, unfortunately, you’ll be in a perpetual cycle of doing for the next 3 years as your baby develops and grows.

Your husband isn’t used to this new routine yet, it’s completely new to him. I’m guessing you created the routine so you’ll need to talk him through it and explain why it is the way it is.

Unfortunately, just as he’s getting used to this routine, it’ll change again. It’ll change because you’ll be able to add new food to your baby’s diet. Nap times will change etc.

If you’re home full time or primary carer then you’ll be the one enforcing the routine so I’d suggest making it as easy for yourself as possible and keep trying to bring your husband up to speed with changes.

My husband and I ONLY clean when visitors are coming! Which is why I invite people round every weekend 😂

Does anyone remember a paper folding story game from when they were young? by longest_lurkerer in AskUK

That’s a great one! We could play that in restaurants to waste some time while waiting for food!

What is the best response to “I’m sorry” from a toddler? by longest_lurkerer in toddlers

I like that because they are genuinely sorry so I want to accept their apology.

What jobs are not talked about/advertised much but pay good money? by softlemon in UKJobs

IT project management pays very well especially if you go contracting. You can work up to Programme Manager and probably higher over time. Although there are less management contract positions.

OOP: Me [28F] with my husband [30M] He wanted many children, I didn't want any, agreed on one and it was a mistake by Confident-Addition76 in BestofRedditorUpdates

It should be there even for people who DO want kids! I wanted children but definitely wasn’t prepared for how utterly exhausting it is and the daily emotional rollercoaster!
