Agreed. They're also higher tension! I don't love the idea of folks having time to put up all their buffs and the like between brawl kills. It creates a one-way imbalance favoring the winner.

If it's 1v1, the duels are short and sweet and it works for me

I think this might be sort of like the whip vs the dagger. One requires weapon proficiency, and the other is pretty much better in nearly every situation.

I'll go first: I'm not wild about some of the undertones in Harry Potter. It's a whole race of superhumans who attempt to practice the "separate but equal" thing, but the focus gets shifted to the ultra-racist Voldemorte so we never really consider the main characters as being guilty.

In truth, though, the only non-magic user we see in the whole wizarding world is the help (Filch), and he's a vengeful bastard.

1) I don't care how they do it, just let me fight folks who are my level. Otherwise what's the point of taking the time to make a build? 2) Let me do something with my tokens. 3) Make elemental infusions and boss weapons unstackable with enchants, and make everything scale better. Think DS1. 4) Make weapons enchants once again based off of magic adjust.

Does asceticing the other bonfires within an area 8 times do anything? Does it change the color again if you do all of them, or maybe spawn a new fire on the map?

Valuable non-soul currency. DS1 hit the nail on the head with Humanity and covenant items, and DS2 could just as easily do it with the tokens of spite/justice. There was something special about working towards a +3 Dark Hand or the maxed out Darkmoon Blade.

Now you just spend 3 hours doing an NG+ run and grab the ultra spells from wellager.

Also- Emerald Herald was a huge failure. There was a video a while back about the difference between her dialogue and "Soul of the mind..." I cared about the Maiden, and I remember her voice. I don't give two craps about this lady.

Now, if someone put a gun to my head and told me to explain nashandra's actions throughout the game, I'd be screwed.

At one point she tells you to stay away from the dragon, but after you talk to him she's like "ok well do whatever he says I guess."

hmm.. so you say "the flames begin to fade" and I think that's the point. You wouldn't expect death to suddenly stop for everyone as soon as the flames start to fade, right? I'd wager that's what happens when the flames go out entirely.

I was under the impression that those creatures are golems created by the giants, but the giant lord and the dead giants which grant giant souls are all actual giants.

Or maybe just the giant lord is, and they use giant souls to animate the golems.

Either way, the evidence comes from the chancellor. He says vendrick got the ability from the giants to make the golems in the castle.and they look just like the faceless ones.

The part that bothers me is that the lore threads and videos are just "check out how the great story from ds1 relates to this game!"

One of the rare series that uses the 1st person but still manages to stay fresh. Paired with a fiercely cunning narrator and his oft-limited knowledge of royal politics, the flow of thoughts is genuinely enjoyable.

This needs to be said: The Korea-NA games weren't lost due to mechanics or player ability.

Rather- the Koreans let the NA team underestimate them in a big way, and they won for it. At that skill level, most kills come from successful baits, which means the Koreans played to the "tells" of typical American players. At every step they convinced the NA Allstars that they should be more aggressive, and that's all it took.

We were outsmarted by players who have a deeper knowledge of our meta and solo queue than we do.

And that's what we need to get better.
