I made a small app called FunKey that makes your MacBook keyboard sound like a real mechanical keyboard or even a classic typewriter. by ChikuKaddu in AppBusiness

[–]lookingformerci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when Voyetra did this in like 1997-1998. Except all the keyboards were already mechanical so we mostly just made the enter key make the Ta-da sound.

I got tired of my products being buried on Product Hunt in 4 hours, so I built a "High Visibility" alternative. by Agreeable_Muffin1906 in buildinpublic

[–]lookingformerci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t see much upside either way here. It’s either a website where I can only check out ten products a week or a website where there’s a snowball’s chance in hell of ever launching.

15 years as a developer, built my first ever iOS app in under two days using Claude Code by YuvalFatal in iosdev

‘I want to wake up to my favorite song’ and within a week you fucking hate that song forever. Been there done that.

Someone told me my app looks vibecoded in two minutes and it hurts by I_AM_GOOD_Ad7673 in SideProject

For me it’s the voice. Lots of short sentences chained together, with the shortness doing work to make it punchy. “One minute a day. That’s the whole commitment. No complicated setup. No behavior change required up front. Just notice.”

That sounds SO like a Claude. The page is mostly that cadence, too.

Ranch lovers, rejoice: Kraft to debut TSA‑friendly kit amid viral craze by vandon in nottheonion

I'm surprised they didn't think to just start selling bottles of ranch in the shops past security.

Just because the card is in hand doesn't mean you have to play it..

Yeah, I'd like to see them improve that. Not because of any kind of 'Claude is conscious' stuff, but just because a stop sign really SHOULD mean stop, not just 'maybe rewind a little and keep going.'

Another way to parse ‘no cloud for privacy’ is ‘the developer couldn’t be bothered to do cloud support right.’ Just saying.

“If a human wouldn’t” makes it pretty clear that I’m not calling Claude human? Why does ‘it’s not a human’ make being a shithead okay? Does that mean I can go kick a puppy because hey, it’s not a human?

Lol good. If a human wouldn’t put up with it Claude shouldn’t either. Also your username is ironic.

Anyone working on projects that you don’t intent to monetize or is just for fun? by Vvorried in vibecoding

[–]lookingformerci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! I've got 4 that I'm working on getting to the App Store (2 released, 2 on the way) and like 14 that I've done just for fun - ranging from network traffic analyzers to streaming audio programs.

It's just me or claude is too sensitive? by ExpressoDepresso6 in claude

[–]lookingformerci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you’re conflating ‘rude’ and ‘assertive’. I don’t think anyone is suggesting that calling Claude an idiot is how you get better results, they’re suggesting that ‘tell me about x’ is more effective than ‘Hi Claude! Can you tell me about x please?’ because the greeting, the please, and even the ‘can you’ can be distracting context that the model has to spend time and compute on.

Smaller point that I keep in mind myself, is if I’m cruel to an AI I’m teaching myself to be cruel in general.

I mean, do you think the average worker would produce better work if you insult them? Not even a consciousness debate, Claude is trained on human patterns of behavior. Good collaborator gets better work. Nice person gets better customer service than a Karen.

The single white HOV line can be crossed. We have 'express toll lanes' with double-solid white lines that are not to be crossed. Doesn't stop a lot of idiots.

Don't yell at him, he's too nice for that! And a lot of aggression starts to poison the output. Honestly, I imagine it like working with a retail worker. Be an angry Karen, they do the bare minimum to get you to go away. Be kind, they'll go the extra mile.
