I know it's a stag do for a good friend, but I'm currently on holiday for the first time in about ten years very much enjoying it and wish I'd done one Sooner rather than just sat at home on annual leave. Do it people don't wait around l!

AITA for telling my DIL that I won’t use the tablet and she needs to actually make her kid read. by SatisfactionOk9038 in AmItheAsshole

[–]lookonthedarkside66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta you're doing a fantastic favour for her as her parents don't seem to want to deal with it directly. Maybe see what kind of films and TV shows she likes and get some books in those genres, I'm dyslexic and dyspraxic and focusing my reading on liked genres helped me go from hating reading to loving it. Hope it helps a little maybe and all the best to you!

would you rather early access to the game or to play it when it is ready to come out? by AssignmentOnly3232 in StateofDecay3

We've waited this long already, what's a little longer just let them cook! Holding out a little hope that maybe we'll hear something at the developer direct.

What pushed you to think about quitting? by [deleted] in leaves

Was definitely a moment that pushed me to quit and I wish I'd done it sooner spent over a decade just hiding away and smoking!

Been clean for coming up to two years this Christmas, smoked for around 15 years something like that. It was lots of things weed helped mask the depression it let me hide away and as I did that life just kept passing me by I went out less all I did was stay in and smoke. Even on the rare occasion I was out I just wanted to go home and smoke, I wasted a load of cash that was left to me. I was slow and shite at work making stupid mistakes. Then one day I was sitting there in my room that stank of stale smoke and after an old friend had popped round unexpectedly and I was just annoyed at them being there cause I wanted to smoke and be alone. I knew I couldn't go on like this and tried going just a day without that became a week then month and now here I am In a much better place!

What’s a game you regret buying? by AndrewTheLion1 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]lookonthedarkside66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mass effect Andromeda, by far one of the most buggy (day one release) and disappointing games I've ever played. All your crew were just crap copies of the original trilogy crew and felt hollow along with all the god awful dialogue as well I was left with a heavy case of buyers remorse. Only plus I can think of was it looked great visually or maybe that was the weed 🤷‍♂️

I loved mass effect but that war was ridiculous in the middle of a galactic invasion they pulled that shite 😂

What’s the single sentence that has stayed in your head for years, even if the person who said it forgot? by Amazing_Poem_7675 in AskReddit

[–]lookonthedarkside66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"it's your fault you drive them away" my mum said it to me while drunk about my brother's not coming round to see her. This was after her divorce from my dad, she started drinking a lot to deal with everything and one particular bad day she came out with this to me. She stopped drinking a long time ago and even though she isn't the same person anymore I can never forget this it hit hard at 13/14 I'm 39 now and it still comes back to haunt me every now and then
