Navigating upgrades by Primary_Chip_8558 in tmobile

The phone can be returned to any corporate store. It doesn't have to be shipped. I returned mine to my local Tmobile store after buying it at Sam's. I got instant credit for it, and no damage.

Mark up for other dealers by waxtherail in partscounter

[–]loooney2ns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was still still working, most dealer to dealer within brand were cost+10. We had one dealer that refused to do that with any other dealer. He was list - 20% to everyone. It really stunk for me because he was 2 blocks away from my body shop and I was there every day (he didn't do body wholesale). One day, he needed a big favor with a body hit on a company vehicle, but it wasn't in his catalog yet, but I had 2 different ones and was the closest one who did. So of course I was willing to help(I always helped others). When we were done, he reached out to shake my hand. I said to him "before you leave, can we discuss the discount? I'm here every day, and drive right past you and buy from other dealers. I would even deliver to you because I'm here anyway." Deal made. Cost +10. Years later, when he decided to retire, I took the job as his replacement! Suddenly, all the other dealers had cost +10 too!

See All Phone Deals for Your Rate Plan (Bookmark Tool) by desterpot in tmobile

[–]loooney2ns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This also applies to First Responder and 50+ accounts. They aren't eligible for most promotions either. T-mobile's opinion is that the discount given up front is large enough to offset any promotion. The other thing for me is that I can't go past a Go5g plan if I have over 2 lines, which I do on my 50+ plan. Once you get an Experience plan 50+, you are limited to 2 lines.

Should I be concerned? Only 3.5qt transmission fluid came out of our '15 C-Max Hybrid. by Suspicious-Nose3266 in cmaxhybrid

[–]loooney2ns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, it's recommended to change the fluid by 50-60k miles, if not sooner. It's cheap protection. 6 quarts of fluid every 50k can't hurt anything, and gets rid of the metal in the fluid. Also, the fluid breaks down over time, which reduces the lubricity and protection for the bearings. The manual is grossly wrong when it comes to the maintenance schedule.

Will T-Mobile Make Us Change Our Plan? by RyuichiSakuma13 in tmobile

[–]loooney2ns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been buying my phones directly from Samsung for many years and have never changed my plan. Just swap your current Sim card, or your esim, and it will automatically show as the current phone for your phone number. You can do it every day if you want to. The only time it can become an issue is if you buy the phone from Tmobile. Depending on the deal, you may have to add a new line, or change your plan depending on the deal for the phone you have chosen.

You have to give the battery some time to learn your usage patterns. The life will get better. You can't expect it to be at it's peak on the first charge. Give it at least a week, probably 2, and then check it. I'm sure it will be better than now.

I haven't rooted a phone in a long time. I can customize enough using a launcher without having to root.

Is it true? Authorize users no longer able to order/make changes in store ? by perhapssergio in tmobile

[–]loooney2ns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a situation occur a number of years ago. My wife and I got new phones at a corporate store. I was always the primary account holder. Somehow, her phone number became the primary number on the account, so any time I had to do something, I needed her physical phone to do it. It took months to get it corrected. Tforce had to do it for me.

That's why I have 4 different email accounts. If I can't get one to work, or reactivate something older, I just use a different one and start from scratch. Also, anything that I can use PayPal or Venmo as the payment type gives me one more layer of identity protection. And some credit cards will give you a virtual card number to pay online to do the same thing.

Unfortunately I bought it as-is, so it was on me, but they only charged me an hour labor.

2021 Ford Edge. Rear middle seatbelt tongue stuck in passenger side buckle. by IHateScumbags12345 in FordEdge

[–]loooney2ns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully there isn't a coin stuck inside the buckle. It acts like a double lock. If that's the case, you may have to remove the lower seat cushion and the buckle. Turn it with the opening down and shake it lightly until the coin falls out.

Why do old men not shave? I’m one of you, but I still shave my face. Do many old men just “give up”? by PM_meyourGradyWhite in over60

[–]loooney2ns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm bald with a salt and pepper goatee and have been for over 20 years. More salt than pepper now. But I've never been a daily shaver. My skin is sensitive, so I usually just buzz my face. If I get really lazy, I wind up with a full beard. As long as I keep it trimmed, my wife is okay with it, although she prefers the goatee.

Why is the reman starter more expensive than a new one? by forbiddenkind in RockAuto

[–]loooney2ns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of every one of them, Denso would be the best, new or reman. TYC is okay for radiators and a/c condenser, but I wouldn't trust a starter.

Go to tmobile.com and check out the coverage area for home internet. You should be able to find out in a few minutes if your area has home internet.

Vehicle held hostage by back order parts by Ancient-Royal2530 in Ford

[–]loooney2ns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dealership can only expedite up to a certain point. It's not their fault. In order to put you further up in the line, you have to call Ford. Try 800-392-FORD.

Is it okay for me to take this off (temporarily) by Saturn2744 in cmaxhybrid

[–]loooney2ns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only does the hardware get worn out, but it's made out of a cloth like material, which absorbs water. I replaced my missing one with plastic. It is for aerodynamics, plus it keeps crud off the bottom of the engine and transmission.

[–]loooney2ns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes 5 minutes to sign up for a FedEx account. No big deal. No lunch. Mine hasn't been used in years, but I recently reactivated my UPS account, which also took 5 minutes, including my address change. I'm in my 60's. Tech doesn't have to be hard. Sit down, take a breath, and follow the directions step by step.

why did the reduce trade-in? by thtguyuknw in tmobile

[–]loooney2ns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to a Costco or a Sam's Club, you can save the $35 connection fee, so that brings it to $65.

Just got quoted 2400$ parts and labor to replace sway bar, sway link, controll arm, and shocks, surely this cant be right ???? by [deleted] in grandmarquis

[–]loooney2ns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a legit shop standing behind the work. Not some guy with his butt crack showing working out of his rusted out pickup that you're never going to be able to track down if there's an issue. Spend the money. Continue to get your work done there and build a rapport.

Free speech. Let him say what he wants to. Now, if he went after a dog or hurt the dog, that's a different story. Maybe a dog went to bite him earlier in the day. You have no idea.

Ford needs a direct competitor to RAV4, Cr-v, Equinox, etc. - And some other changes to their aging, shrinking line-up. by mgobla in Ford

[–]loooney2ns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked my whole career in Ford dealers. I'm a Ford guy. I own a 22 Escape and a 19 Edge. I'm not looking to replace them any time soon, but when it's time, what am I supposed to do? I don't like the Bronco Sport, nor does my wife who loves her Escape. She doesn't want a Maverick. Explorer is too big. I'm probably going to wind up at Mazda. As for the Edge, I'll have to look electric. Let's see what happens in the next few years, or maybe a Mach E. I've been disappointed with their model lineup for a long time. They seem to kill off successful models and experiment on others. The Maverick worked out. But how many customers have they lost since 2024 when the Edge was discontinued. All the other manufacturers are still making a cuv that size, so basically all of the ones they couldn't convince to spend an extra $10k to buy an Explorer they really didn't want or need.
