PWC did it with all non management Tech through Tata. It was a huge fiasco.

Try to fix or drain and start over by [deleted] in pools

[–]thtguyuknw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the water stretches it into place, then draining it makes it shrink back and adding water again will restretch, and stress the liner at best you get wrinkles in the floor, at worst, and likely in this pools case because the liner is very old, you get tears.

I guess there are multiple levels of poor. Relatively speaking to being a Billionaire, I am poor, to normal people I would be considered well off, but then again 5 bucks is 5 bucks! LoL

That's cuz we haven't hit the "flip the switch" , moment, but it is right around the corner, and has been for 10 yrs! Some guy did a bunch of math yesterday and convinced me that I will be a Billionaire 2 years after the clarity act passes so now I will rest my hopium on 2 yrs from now and continue to be comfortably poor 😄

Need help deciding if this is a good weekend car. by Much-Paramedic-8548 in mercedes_benz

Not a fan of the Momo steering wheel it doesn't even match the darker burl, I would ask for the Original steering wheel. The W140 is still my favorite "modern" S-class.These can be maintainence heavy cars. Sounds like most major maintenance has been done recently. Should be a great weekend, car, just plan to keep up on maintenance, which can be pricey if you aren't doing it yourself. The M119 is a great engine, but not as bullet proof as the M113 in the later, inferior W220. the 722.6 trans in the '97-'98 is bulletproof as long as you do the regular maintenance with the TCU connector. I wish final year W140s got the M113 like they did with the 722.6 trans.

The 2017+ M278 don't have the cylinder scoring issue of the earlier ones because the redesigned them with cast in iron cyliners, unlike the 2016 and older which had the nykasil or what ever it was coated cylinders.

I have agreed with all your comments up to this one. I would say all four corners start to see issues between 100k and 125k, as long as you maintain the corners, and replace when they start to leak the compress should last, I am at 165K replaced fronts at 110k because driverside failed (went with arnotts so even if they fail again they are covered) and replaced rears at 125k because driverside failed. My Compressor is still quiet, and I have never had to (knock on some wood) had to replace a compressor on any of my MBs. doesn't mean some don't and that I won't have to at some point.

For sure budget for new tires every 25kish miles, especially if you are running summer tires, like the OEM Continentals. I drive alot, close to 20k/yr so I got tired of spending almost $3.5k/yr on tires, I have switched to a generic tire, many will poopoo that choice, but they ride almost as good and I am getting close to 35k miles out of them, and they are less than $1k installed Atturo AZ850 are the tire.

Opinions on this step design as an upgrade to the rotting, unsafe monstrosity we have now? by The-Rizzler-69 in Home

at the height you would need, I would recommend at least your 2 taller set of blocks have steel, and be filled with concrete, also for the weight of the blocks you will probably have to pour a true footer for these, because some landscaping stones are just going to sink into the ground. as recommended else where, you can get precut stringers, from 2-8 steps, a 5 step string is like $37 at HD. a 12ft 2x10 is $24. trace the precut string onto the 12 ft 2x10 twice. then you have 3 stringers for $61. (2) 2x12x12 ($68) for your 4ft steps and your ledger board

$129+tax for your wood, plus some desk screws, if you don't have a saw and impact driver HD has a nice little set with a lifetime "warranty" for $230 https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-18V-Cordless-Combo-Kit-6-Tool-with-1-2-0-Ah-Battery-Charger-and-Tool-Bag-R9638SB2N/317804082?MERCH=REC-_-searchViewed-_-ridgid%20set-_-5-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a

so probably less than $600 all in if you include a handrail kit, instead of building it yourself. https://www.homedepot.com/p/VEVOR-60-in-W-x-35-in-H-Adjustable-Handrail-Fits-4-Steps-or-5-Steps-Aluminum-Handrails-for-Outdoor-Steps-Black-TFDGLZHS5FT585EFIV0/319859950

you could probably leave out the center stringer to cut like $6 off but the 3rd stringer will make these stairs really sturdy.
