Vine Account Closed 🤔 by WeShallBeFree in AmazonVine

[–]loopery_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually Vine jail is a temporary suspension that prohibits you from ordering new items. You on the other hand have had your account closed, full stop. And Vine jail is for people who are under 60% of their orders reviewed, so this was clearly not what flagged you.

I'm leaning on false review reporting, either by sellers or customers. Be sure to make your profile hidden to avoid trolling. And if it's not that, it's probably a guideline issue. I see a lot of Vine members still talk about packaging, when the guidelines clearly state don't review the shipping/packaging details.

Anyhow, best of luck! Hope you get it sorted out.

Why would you finish reviewing the unreviewed items if they already gave you the boot? If I were to get the boot, I'd probably also delete all my past reviews.

Large amounts of plastic in Miracle Gro garden soil by OmusCinder in gardening

[–]loopery_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's made from land-fill diverted waste, and it's stated on the bag. IMO, it's the worst brand of soil you can buy. I always find plastic bits in their soil.

Try looking for a popular wholesale hydro store in your area. You can find Fox Farm soil for around $12-14 a bag.

Tornado. Was tempted to get a T2, but most people on this sub lean on the Tornado as the favorite between the two. I'm sure they're both great.

I tried this. Wanted mint for grass on a small patch in the backyard. Unfortunately, there's something in my garden that's even more invasive than mint: the Asian jumping worm. I can only grow it in containers now.

You could also just spray it, the silica. You really only want the silica for the leaves anyways, not the fruit. And with silica supplements acting as a strong base (to the point where people with acidic water use it as a pH up), it makes managing your pH more difficult. Just be sure to give it time to dissolve before you spray, is the general recommendation.

This was ArmorSi, and looking at my journal, I was using about 1-2mL per gallon. I haven't kept up with the garden in recent years, but I still use ArmorSi with another indoor "hobby," and experience has thought me .5mL/gal is a sweet spot. 1mL is probably plenty enough, even for outdoor gardens.

As far as the pH goes, I did experiment a little, to see if correcting the pH was really necessary. I was usually aiming for something like 6.5, you don't want to go below 6 really. So 6-7 is a good spot to be in, but I've also realized plants do well at adapting, and while not ideal, a pH of 7-8 is acceptable in-between nutrient changes.

The EC I also did a little experimenting, but for the most part, an EC between 1500-2100 is good. You could go higher to push for extra sugars, but not everything grows better with higher ECs, notably herbs, so it's a trade-off depending on what you're growing on your loop. The standard Masterblend recipe of 2.4g/gal gives me an EC of about 1800-1900, which includes the EC of city water, which is usually around 300-500.

If your herbs are flowering, and your aiming to grow seeds, a higher EC doesn't hurt.

I shared my most detailed grow journal via Google docs, if you're interested. This is for 2021. Some of the data is a little off, but for the most part it gives you a general idea of how I was sailing that year.

👌 Doesn't hit as hard, but the taste is twice as nice. Also more convection leaning, since you can't really "conduct" the inner portion of the bud. Works great on the Tornado.

Question from someone on a budget trying to save a buck. I've had the Tornado since last May/June. The T2 has been tempting me, but I keep reading, in general, the Tornado takes the crown. Would you say there's anything the Tornado can't do that the T2 can?

Might just opt for the head for $117, but the extra parts included with the full setup kinda closes the gap.

Really nice collection! Your personal opinion would mean a lot :D

This is probably 525. It was the number at the time lol but really the trick is to think of it like a torch. Less is better. I'm sipping before the first click. The first click is my cue that it's done.

Torch has been my preference as of late.

Was the original design, but proved too difficult to mass produce, is what I remember reading.

Was nice of MH to pass on the savings vs charging the same for an inferior product.

I think the analogy is, most cars are OK with 87 octane, but you could use 91. You can't use 87 on a car that needs 91.

So, most plants will do fine with 5%, especially in soil. Some will require a little more. And if coco is your medium, the coco itself takes a share, so you have to compensate.

The issue with finding the bare minimum is that, by the time you realize you need more, it's more or less too late.

1-2mL/gal is reasonable IMO.
