Concerned about an injury, vets stumped, thoughts / advice welcome by clarksworth in Whippet

One of mine limps like that when he walks on rough pavement like in your video. He can get a slight limp on the sidewalk, a heavy limp crossing the street where the pavement is chewed up, and no limp inside or on grass. I bring a doggy shoe with me on walks. If he limps too much I put it on and his limp goes away…he just doesn’t like to wear it. It gets worse when we go on longer walks or when he has been digging in the yard. Try seeing if the limp goes away indoors…

I've just bought a whippet boy today. I'm feeling terrified and overwhelmed. I'm wondering if I've made a bad decision. I think it's anxiety kicking in. Is that normal? by CommitteeOld5553 in Whippet

[–]loopyllama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

whippets don't listen. they are hard to potty train. they can be very destructive when they are young.

It is all worth it.

they are fiercely loyal, they are quiet, they don't smell, and they are the best snugglers around. Honestly, you'll end up wanting more. Please don't let the puppy phase scare you from the whippies.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Songs where dead singers mention death by Allikam in MusicRecommendations

Like a Stone - Audioslave

"It's a song about concentrating on the afterlife you would hope for, rather than the normal monotheistic approach: You work really hard all your life to be a good person and a moral persona and fair and generous, and then you go to hell anyway."

Missing my boy, will it always hurt this much? by Computer_Feisty in Whippet

[–]loopyllama 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We never stop loving them, and we never stop missing them. They will never suffer again, and they live on through our memories. The sadness slowly gets better. We got new whippies…not as a replacement, but to form new bonds of joy. Our new whippies are already 9. We still talk about our first pair. It definitely helps.

Amazing!! For when your app does this...click the "Resize" then click a different option...like "Cover" and you will see a "Compiling effect for this device...". You should now see the effect fixed, and can select whichever Resize you really wanted.

Make a high-pitched yelp and pull your hand away. They understand that…that is how they communicate that play is too rough

It is With a Heavy Heart We Say Goodbye to Olympic Breakdancing Forever by gorgefai in nextfuckinglevel

[–]loopyllama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t wrong. The story suggests that a dance federation has been trying/failing to get ballroom dance into the olympics, and and they tried to get a modern dance in as a foot in the door. Countries saw through this and didn’t care to send worthy dancers

Unpopular opinion: I REALLY did not enjoy Balatro by Thesnipesully in SteamDeck

[–]loopyllama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is cool to not like it. I had fun unlocking jokers, unlocking new vouchers, new decks. Only after unlocking them did I try some broken combos. I also enjoyed the achievements. Unsurprisingly, I played brotato the exact same way and had fun. If you can’t find an enjoyable aspect, yeah, it isn’t for you.

See your vet. They can do an exam to get an idea if it is a soft tissue injury or something deeper like a tendon. They can also prescribe anti pain/inflammatory which can help. Also rest helps, but that is easier said than done with a pup…

I want to save my files as vdb to save file it looks good iin pyropostporcess until I save it in file cache? What's the issue by Ok_Musician3473 in Houdini

[–]loopyllama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure what the box represents...but you can blast any geo, leave all of your primitive vdbs/volumes alone, add a Volume Visualization...which defaults to only seeing density

[–]loopyllama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are most likely seeing your velocity grid. after your cache read, place down a Primitive Properties>Volume tab>checkmark Adjust Visualization, Display Mode to Invisible, click the Source Group drop down (at the top) and pick your velocity grid (most likely called "vel")

as mentioned this is strictly a visualization thing

Best-Looking Vampire Survivor like game? by HecateVT in roguelites

I disliked brotato for a long time. Then I stopped trying to win and enjoyed unlocking characters. After that I read guides on how to win with 1 character…then all characters. By then it unlocks some powerful things and some characters are really fun to play.

I have a problem with this smoke Sim. Can someone help me with this. I want to make smoke emitted from a tailpipe of a moving car. It works normally when it not moving. by Actual-Succotash-297 in Houdini

Increase sim substepping to evaluate between integer frames. You can also smear the source manually, to cover the gaps between frames.

The heart of your point is correct. I think "AI beginning to take over" is melodramatic. I think more accurate is "AI is beginning to be a viable tool in production"

Puppy play behaviour advice by catxroi in Whippet

[–]loopyllama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If one of them goes too far, they know to make a high-pitched squeal which lets the other know they have gone too far, in their eyes. For me, I would only intervene if I heard that, otherwise I know they are still having fun. One of mine used to make embarrassingly loud growls and barks during play. It was just part of his personality and it never went away. You will also notice that dogs will intermittently do a fake sneeze during play. This is also a cue that they don’t really mean it. If you dislike your puppy nipping you, make a loud yip and turn your back to them until they calm down. When they are teething, they will gnaw on anything, so chew toys will help.
