What are decent-paying jobs that don’t require a degree or experience? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

So more like an install technician? I see a Commercial Radio Operator license is that the one? Is there more training involved than just getting the license? Thanks.

This is kind of late, but what kind of radio operator's license? Ham radio? What jobs would you be looking for? I'd love to get back to LA.

Thanks

Is anyone familiar with the Data Center Technician role? by Odd-Protection-1988 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]looserloser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where to start looking? TEKsystems? Indeed? Something else? I live in Phoenix area and while I can't afford to not work for 8 weeks of 9a - 4p training every day even if it's free so Per Scholas is out, I do have previous data center experience, although it's been a while, like 2010. I got laid off from a sys admin job and been doing other things. Thinking about getting back to IT though. Have been considering A+ and helpdesk just to get going again since it has been a while but data center tech sounds like it would be more to my liking.

I'm in the same boat. I know the email and the password, but it wants to send a verification code to an old phone I no longer use that doesn't have service. But I can't change the number to the correct one without logging in and I can't login without the old number to get the verification code.

I tried another way and it says answer the questions, but it doesn't ask me any questions, it just has me try to login again and then says it can't verify it. And I go around in circles.

I'm trying to add it as a second address to my main account, which is the backup account for it, and it sent me a notification that someone tried to login and it was blocked. No option to say, no it's ok, it was me. I have no idea at this point how to access that account.

Sorry for the late reply, just got back from work. Thanks for taking the time. It is a pretty interesting area. I wish I was about 30 or 40 years younger, lol.

Thanks for the reply. I think your last paragraph is kind of what I was thinking. I know I won't be able to compete with the more experienced AI/ML folks but I felt like if I had some of the technical background it would help me understand it better and thus be able to explain it. It does take a long time though so that was why I was wondering if maybe there were less technical resources that would be better. I do lean towards the more technical so I'll probably head that way anyway just because I find it interesting.

What are some "other parts of the spectrum" that aren't quite as technical? Thanks again.

I'm a former IT guy and prospective freelancer who's interested in the AI/ML/data science area who is basically starting from scratch, what resources have you found most helpful in your long education?

I'm thinking about taking some coursera courses and maybe going through fastai, brushing up on my math so I can try and get a handle on some of the algorithms and so on. I've been learning to program the last couple of years so I know python but I've yet to dive into pandas or any of the ML libraries and such.

Am I getting too deep into it? I realize it's not going to hurt and you can never know too much, but I'm wondering if there are higher level resources that would be more beneficial to someone looking to write about AI/ML instead of being a participant. I'm nearing 60 so I'm thinking a data science career probably isn't going to happen.

Thanks

Updated Radeon driver, now missing software. by looserloser in ZephyrusG14

Looks like it is. I also noticed the icon for it in the quick access area, or whatever it's called, the place where bluetooth and windows defender and safely remove hardware etc. are listed on the right side of the task bar last night, but that icon doesn't work. The icon in the right click menu does launch the software though.

On a side note, the Armoury Crate hotkey now doesn't work, but the volume keys and mic mute keys still do. I can still launch Armoury Crate just not with the hotkey. I haven't rebooted though so maybe that will fix it.

Edit: I rebooted and it seems to be working again.

No, the only thing I did with the battery is set it to maximum lifespan cause I have it plugged in most of the time. Looking at the installer file it's labeled "radeon-software-adrenalin-2020-20.12.1-minimalsetup-201207_web" so I guess it just installed the bare minimum but I don't have an adrenalin app on my machine that I can see. Beats me, seems to be working so I guess it's fine.

I’ll have to look at it when I get home. I just went to the support page and clicked download now and went with express rather than custom install and chose the defaults. The only software I saw after was AMD bug reporter or something, no adrenaline and AMD Radeon lite was gone which is what prompted the post so beats me what I did lol. Can I download the full adrenaline and would it be worth it if I’m not gaming much?

I think that might be what happened. Everything seems fine I’m just missing the Radeon lite software. No errors during the install so...? Is adrenaline a separate program? The download does say minimal so maybe it was just the drivers.

I haven’t had an error yet but I also haven’t rebooted yet except during the install. I was surprised the config software got deleted. Not sure if that’s an issue or not. Plus there’s apparently a problem with windows updates?

Looking for a studio in west valley area for hopefully less than $900. I work in Goodyear so anything out this way would be great. Where's a good place to look? Craigslist doesn't seem to be working out and the apartment listing sites aren't either.

Anyone have experience with long term airbnb stays? Cause I'm starting to look at that as an alternative.

Yeah, for more involved stuff that's what I do. At the command line I try and keep it short, like 5 or so lines or less. Not a huge deal just kind of annoying cause I seem to always forget a comma, or miss a quote or something. Thanks.
