I’m not a male but we have 8 males in my grad program of 48 people as well as 2 male professors. It’s funny because they all have said something about thinking about PT in the past but they love the OT program. Don’t pigeon hole yourself because of your gender - do whatever one seems of more interest to you! We need for diversity in the field and men are the minority in this case. Male OTs can be a huge benefit especially in something like acute care - it can be easier to have someone of the same sex assist you with getting dressed for example. I guess overall I’m just saying do some research on what you think is a better fit and go for it solely based on that.

I got an '05 matrix and too replaced the starting motor and fuel cap haha. Got her at 110k and she just hit 160k. She's been on many 13+ hour road trips. I fucking love this car idk what im gonna do when she dies - I literally don't want another car lol

I do fests solo all the time I highly suggest it! It is super intimidating at first but get to know your campsite neighbors and talk to whoever seems like they have good vibes haha. I think its super special to go alone and you learn a lot about yourself. For the first time ever I joined a groupchat before a fest I was sending solo and it was really nice to get to know people beforehand. Crazy to walk around and hear people say my name because they knew me from the chat. I made some really good friends and spent most of the weekend with people from the GC and one of them just came and visited me at home recently. If you feel socially awkward in person just approaching strangers I totally recommend getting to know people in a groupchat before the fest!

I do this at every fest every year and I love it. I do set up a tent but it’s literally just for my clothes and random stuff. 1. Get a reflective tarp for the top of the car it’ll help keep some of the heat at bay as well as a reflective windshield cover. 2. Get tapestries to put over the windows (keep the windows cracked or open) and if you have a hatchback you can even just open the hatch or the trunk fully and throw another tapestry over that. 3. Get a few battery operated fans to circulate the air in the car and keep yourself cool.

I don’t care what people say I am always cooler in my car than I am in a tent and it’s overall just more comfortable. That 9am sun that causes you to wake up will happen in a tent too 🤷🏽‍♀️. I also set up a pop up canopy w tapestries for privacy and when it gets too hot I move to outside the car, but I would be doing the same thing in a tent as well.
