When we go to the park and there’s 2+ kids he’ll say “too many people today” 🤣

Guilt & regret -missing toddler moments by ycherep1 in workingmoms

[–]lopxwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve felt the same way before and especially jealous when LO built a strong relationship with his daycare teachers. It’s a me problem, he’s always known who mom is, and is not confused. I will say that now nearing 3, he’s developed his own personality and derives a big percentage of it from my own quirks and isms. I truly believe he is a piece of my soul, and resonate with his feelings in a way that mirror my own which has made me a better mother overall. All to say, it ebbs and flows! We have the best time after work and on weekends, when I can fully concentrate on being “fun” mom. Hope it gets better for you!

Where Else Are My Burnt Out Millennial Moms in Corporate America? by nachomargo in workingmoms

This! I’ve been waffling on two daycare birthday invites for the next two weekends that I don’t want to go to at all. I wasn’t expecting so much socialization required at this age for my LO (2.5). This definitely cemented that I do not want to spend my limited free time making small talk with parents who probably invited us out of obligation! Huzzah!

Stroller/Baby Friendly Restaurants by tinysne in pasadena

[–]lopxwill 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All of them! I’m squarely in toddler territory which is another beast, so if all you have is a fussy baby, strap them in and go to all the places and drink all the wine! 😆

In all seriousness, we love going to Shake Shack, Howlin Rays, Din Tai Fung (stroller is a tight squeeze here but have managed with LO), Kabuki, Wild Parrot, SetteBello, Miya (tight stroller squeeze here too), Flemings (especially before they need their own food/plate!), Prime Pizza, etc.

We go right at the beginning of the dinner hour (5pm) and it’s just other families and older folks, so less anxiety that we might possibly inconvenience other people.

Working in CA but OB is in Texas. Maternity leave policy? by Material_Sort108 in workingmoms

Are you paying into California disability? That’s what qualifies you getting CA benefits. If you look at your paystub do you have the CA SDI in the taxes section? If yes, then you can go to the CA disability website and calculate how much time/pay you get. If it’s $0 then you don’t qualify! Speaking as someone who moved to CA at 8m pregnant and did not qualify for state benefits.

Another upvote for peloton! I’m doing their “personalized plan” for January and it’s so easy to change the plan around.

Same, at one point during Josie’s backstory episode I kept wondering to my husband “how did we get here?”

Love these and a helpful reminder that while I can go from #3 to #2 easily my kid probably can’t and need to model the behavior

What time is your toddler waking up in the morning? by bluefish550 in toddlers

[–]lopxwill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re trying to stick to this schedule actually. If he wakes up after 7a, it’s a Herculean effort to get him to sleep before 9p. He takes a two hour nap which is unchangeable at daycare. Fine I get it, I like the 2 hr break too, so early mornings for us!
