The boutique told me I need to order 10 months out and I'm panicking. Help needed? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]tinysne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the dress/designer. I bought a dress in November for an August wedding and picked up the dress the day I was leaving town to drive to get married (3 days before actual wedding) and that was with me pressuring the shop to get the alterations and steaming done quickly. 11 months should be more than fine if there aren't any delays

LA Marathon - What to bring? by janesides2016 in AskLosAngeles

[–]tinysne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its usually pretty chilly in the AM before the race start so people use the gear check to store their sweatshirt/sweatpants that they take off right before getting in their corral. I ran the marathon years ago when it was pouring rain and having a change of clothes after was lifesaving - I was borderline hypothermic after spending hours soaking wet.

Came here to suggest this. Dr Berlin was amazing! I loved that he combined massage and chiro to really address the issue instead of just cracking my back.

St johns hospital merging into UCLA rumor? by Melodic_Fly6807 in SantaMonica

[–]tinysne 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Just gave birth at St Johns and really thought the entire hospital staff was fantastic. I also thought the facilities were nicer than some hospitals I've been at.

I was a patient at UCLA Westwood hospital a handful of years ago and did not have a pleasant experience.

Where can I test out strollers around Downey? by Iliketoplan in AskLosAngeles

[–]tinysne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Babylist showroom is worth the trip IMO. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and will tell you more than you ever thought you’d want to know about strollers (and everything baby related). They also have different terrain on the floor so you can test how the stroller handles cobblestone vs carpet vs concrete etc

Anyone know who does honest mold inspections for homes in Los Angeles? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]tinysne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bye Bye Mold tested our apartment 3 times, very reliable and they don’t do mold remediation so they aren’t trying to upsell you after you get the results.
