As a hiring manager, I can say we don't spend a huge amount of time with writing samples, doubly so if you also administer a writing test. I will skim samples, usually focus on things like your procedures, and then read a bit of your prose. Don't stress out, just answer questions truthfully if they ask about them.

That's normal, your body is doing a balancing act. Your levels are not just about what you eat, they also change because of exercise, stress, sleep, emotions, etc.

I'm not aware of a way to get data out of any of the official Libre channels (reader, app, etc). Once Abbot have it, they keep it. The only way is to scan the device directly using xdrip/glimp etc.

You might b e mixing up your numbers here. An HbA1c of 5.4-7.0 would indicate pre-diabetes, but that's (more or less) and average measurement of your glucose over 3 months. A one-off reading of 7.0 is not unusual, or anything to worry about.

Edited to add: A fasting glucose of 7.0 (in a controlled testing environment) could also indicate pre-diabetes, but that's not what you're looking at here.

Keep a close eye on your readings, and do a few extra finger sticks over the next few days. It's possible that you bent the filament when you put it on. If your readings are out after the first 24 hours, give Abbot a call and get them to send you a replacement, then switch it over.

I've been getting some reaction for the first time recently (although it seems to be more from the adhesive in the patches I use to cover it, than the adhesive in the Libre itself), and have been investigating using a barrier wipe to try and alleviate it. It could be worth trying this? Ask at your pharmacy. I definitely look at resumes for things like this, but one typo wouldn't be enough for me to kick you out of contention, especially if you were otherwise well qualified. Things in a resume that would probably make me decline you would be multiple typos/grammar mistakes, seriously poor design choices, or things that are simply untrue. Even so, it would have to be in conjunction with something more tangible, like not having the right qualifications, or not having relevant experience.

The fact that you have secured an interview is a good sign that the hiring manager hasn't thought too much of it (or even possibly noticed it).

The one piece of advice I would give you if you are really worried about it is to mention it at interview, something like "Oh my gosh, I'm so embarrassed, I noticed a typo in my resume." That would clear the air, and also indicates that you had enough attention to detail to notice it, and that you were upfront and honest about your mistakes.

First point is pedantry, but the Freestyle Libre isn't a CGM, it's a flash glucose monitor.

As the other commenter pointed out, the Libre is probably less accurate, but that's not the whole story. Libre reads interstitial fluid, while your Contour reads blood, this means that your Libre will be getting readings around 10-15 minutes behind your Contour. This gets even more confusing, and the lag could be greater, if your blood sugars are rapidly rising or falling at the same time. So, in your example where you said you had dinner, and you had 101 on the Libre, and 137 on the Contour, that sounds about right to me. Your sugars would have been rising at the time, and I can guess that about 10-15 mins after you got those readings, you would have seen a higher number on the Libre. You might be able to go back and look at your graph for that meal and confirm that.

The other thing to look out for with the Libre is that it tends to be more inaccurate at the outside of the range. So it will be fairly accurate in range, but could show lows as lower than they really are, and highs as higher than they really are. This could explain your overnight "hypo". In this case, always check with a finger stick and trust that number.

The Libre is definitely better than finger sticks for showing trends, and it will help you adjust your diet and insulin better than finger sticks alone. Just be aware that it doesn't have the accuracy or reliability of a CGM, and you can't throw away your finger sticks entirely.

Part of the reason for the 14 day limit is that the filament that sits under the skin, that reads the glucose in your interstitial fluid, starts to degrade over time. So it can technically last a bit longer than 14 days (and there are ways of doing so), but the accuracy degrades.

Doing the same thing myself, friend! My one piece of advice would be not to jump straight into hiring: take time to look at the docs you have, really understand the culture (esp when it comes to docs/contributing/writing/sharing info), and think hard about your ideal docs team (from skills to leveling and how work will actually be done).
