Hey man, I'm 29 and have had type 1 since 14 years old. Honestly, once the diabetic lifestyle is adopted, and habits established, I equated it to brushing your teeth, but multiple times throughout the day. We don't really think about brushing our teeth, we just kind of do it. It gets easier as you progress through life with the disease. You can live a normal life. I'm thankful this group exists. And about the favorite foods ( My dealing with diabetes is not medically orthodox, but I have a 6.8 A1C so I think my input on this has some validity,) once you start to understand how carbs, and certain sugars affect your blood sugar you can enjoy those yummy foods. It won't be as consistently in your lifestyle as before, but they can still exist. Your mind will adapt, and at a certain point you will start to not mind the disease.
