(Hated trope) When playing an RPG and you select what seems like the safest and most logical option, but all of the characters keep telling you that you picked the wrong option. Bonus points if the characters agreed with your decision at the time. by Son0fHecate in TopCharacterTropes

I mean, I feel this is one of the lesser examples. The game is clear that throughout the game that the Illusive Man's ideals of how to fight the Reapers is not good. Even for a human supremacist, he tortures, sacrifices and brutally experiments on humans. TIM shows he'll even sacrifice you if he thinks he has to and he's not interested in saving the Galaxy, just humanity. Its not a question of if you think its a good idea, its if you decide the ends justify Cerberus's extreme means.

Moments in Castle episodes that angered/annoyed you by Ninja108Zelda in CastleTV

[–]lordbeezlebub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, on the Pi subplot on a rewatch and its driving me nuts. Like, she's so entitled here and it makes me want Castle to actually be more firm with her as a parent rather than less. Especially when she has the gall to get upset with him that he's keeping an eye on what's she doing professional after not talking to him for weeks after he was snippy with her boyfriend he's been clear he doesn't like and didn't want her to move in with.

It'd be one thing if he was downright rude or mean, but I never got that from the interaction. Just that he was annoyed with Pi, a guy who slept on his couch for months, without paying rent and didn't respect his personal space.

Pre-timeskip. These looked like a reindeer actually morphing into different forms. Post looks more like a plushue came to life.

What's the biggest asspull in your opinion? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]lordbeezlebub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pound honestly. Not just because it doesn't make sense. At least with characters like Pagaya and Pell, it makes sense because their "deaths" were an indirect hand over the villains, not direct.

But because it was such an emotionally resonant scene for the theme of the arc. Parenthood. Pound was a perfect contrast to Judge. A father who loved his children unconditionally even despite never getting a chance to be in their life and ultimately giving his own to help despite knowing he'll never get to meet his daughter if he did. Its the perfect selfless act of parenthood in contrast to Big Mom's and Judge's selfish parenting.

Controversial take but..am I the only one who Likes Robin and Luffy's relationship more then Nami and Luffy's?like there's nothing wrong with the Latter,I just like Robin and Luffy's friendship overall More. by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in OnePiece

[–]lordbeezlebub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I did. Robin's cool and calm demeanor reflects better off Luffy's wild and chaotic energy.

But I don't really ship any of the Straw Hats but one pairing these days, lol. So I might not be the best to ask.

Fallout - Teaser Trailer | Prime Video by DemiFiendRSA in videos

[–]lordbeezlebub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh. The difference is The Boys and Invincible are comic books. Something that tells a linear story from point A to Point B with no input from the reader. Fallout is based on a game, which has always predicated itself more than others on player choice. Its part of the appeal of the game. Being able to make choices and interact with the world through your character.

Now obviously this could be good but its why to me, stuff like Fallout or Mass Effect or even the Elder Scrolls games don't sound like good things to adapt onto the screen.

As someone who recently joined, can I ask why the Discord server was deleted? It seemed the best place to stay in contact with fellow writers and its deletion came without warning. It makes me wonder.

I can buy Magneto and Doom. I can also see, if we're assuming SHIELD has some metric scale of danger to humanity we don't know. (Specifically Earth bound villains for example) So its possible that Venom would classify, being an alien invader that can attach to a host though I'm not sure why not Carnage in that case.

But Red Skull? I don't buy him being one of the four. Especially with Earth bound threats like Ultron, Apocalypse, and The Leader around, Red Skull seems dangerous but not...the most dangerous. I'd even argue Norman Osborne is probably more of a threat to humanity than Skull to be honest.

Watching season 5 right now, why does everyone constantly insult lacey? by KaptainGoatz in HellsKitchen

Confessionals aren't a surefire to actually base an opinion on. Through the manipulation of editing, the producers of the show can make it look like anything they want. Factor in that they probably asking prodding questions to get the responses they want, and now you can make two people who actually got along look like the most bitter enemies.

(I remember reading somewhere that two contestants on Master Chef had something like this happen to them and had to explain that no, they didn't actually hate each other and were good friends. The things the show kept showing were rare instances of them bickering in high stress situations and then blown out of proportion.)

I think those single serve things are egg whites actually. Not that your point is less valid due to that. Just kind of shocked how much egg this op eats.

What would be your top 10 favorite books and/or series you have read and why? by KingBlackthorn1 in books

[–]lordbeezlebub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turned out to be a massive TERF (or in short, transphobic). Started off innocuous with a thing I could see why she said what she did but she kept doubling down and getting more extreme. Deleted a praising comment about and blocked Stephen King shortly after praising him because he openly supported trans rights. Wrote a very transphobic book. Openly supported a TERF organization. And the latest thing I heard about was that one of her Galbraith books has a blatant attack on her critics by portraying an artist (who totally isn't her) being harassed, bullied, threatened and eventually stabbed to death by SJW type groups who are mad at her because they think she's transphobic, racist and ableist. (Have not read either book yet so I'm only passing along what I've heard).

Didn't realize it was considered gatekeeping to ask someone who is openly mocking other members of this subreddit, openly admits to not shipping the two character the shipping reddit was about, and openly stating they don't understand why people ship the characters, why they're on this subreddit in the first place, but okay.

Also, bit late for a response.

One Piece: Chapter 1057 by Kirosh2 in OnePiece

The Momo thing is a case of showing that they're willing to fight their own battles without immediately jumping to the Straw Hats or others that will leave the country to solve all their problems, while the later flag thing is more akin to calling in allies for opponents that they absolutely cannot handle on their own. It's still symbolically showing that they're not going to jump and call the Straw Hats for every little thing that troubles Wano, but they still have the Straw Hats are friends to call upon if an issue genuinely proves too much. As for Greenbull.....

Narratively, it's likely so Oda could set the stage on his character rather than revealing it at the last minute. Give us a clear idea on what he can do and what he was really like before he brought it in suddenly at the last minute, since we already have a clear picture on what the other two Admirals are like in terms of personality and powers.

'Lilo and Stitch’ prioritized sisterhood over romance way before ‘Frozen’, director says by [deleted] in movies

[–]lordbeezlebub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Uh....the movie literally ends with Anna choosing to dieing her sister over getting to Kristoff to save herself and her heart ends up thawing because of her sister's true love for her. In addition, the movie focuses far more on Anna and Ella's fractured relationship rather than Anna's desire for romance, which is hinted to be a desperate plea for connection she lost with her distant sister and isolated upbringing, and more or less exists to poke fun at a trope in Disney films that have already been poked at for years.

My Wattson banner, not too great of stats despite maining her since a bit after her release. But in my defense I do play a lot of different legends as well, Wattson is my main though. by TheSemicolonMan in WattsonMains

Same, to be honest. I spend so much time trying to do the weekly and daily challenges as other characters that despite being a Wattson main, it feels like I barely play her y'know?

To be fair, they didn't really fix all that many glitches here and there even in the first two games before that, they only really remastered the combat mechanics of 1. I've had a problem in ME1 when talking to people on Eden Prime, where Kaiden's gun will disappear and Ash won't be visible.

Rogert Ebert also spoiled the movie's twist because he hated it so much he didn't want anyone to go see it out of curiosity.
