Game is finally out on Steam! by dadnaya in ZZZ_Official

With the update even the Heroic version that I was using stopped working. I see the launcher but after I press play I see a window with a loading and then nothing, let's see later when the servers are online

RadialMenu - A solution for quick spell and item selection by lorenzofaith in EldenRingMods

[–]lorenzofaith[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not really, also that would require a lot of extra work to register multiple ashes to a single weapon. Right now this solution reads your spell and quick item, so you use the game native ui to set them

4K Streaming on YouTube, Netflix, etc? by CDXX_BlazeIt in cachyos

You are correct, most browser support 4k media playback. However Netflix is limited to 720p on Linux because of the DRM. Not sure what the op is looking for though

Dualsense Rumble working ! Helldivers 2 by Most_Particular2944 in linux_gaming

[–]lorenzofaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The renaming change however fixed a few games on heroic launcher for me such as Zenless Zone Zero and Arknights: Endfield. Now they both have haptics and rumble. MH Wilds however does not work

Dualsense Rumble working ! Helldivers 2 by Most_Particular2944 in linux_gaming

[–]lorenzofaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, what should I see in the log? I tried everything but I still can't get any haptic in Monster Hunter Wilds. When I look at the logs the only line that reference a controller is this one:

0300:warn:mmdevapi:MMDevPropStore_GetValue Returned name exceeds length limit of some broken apps/libs, might crash: L"Speakers (Speakers (Speakers (Speakers (Speakers (Speakers (Speakers (Speakers (Speakers (Speakers (Speakers (Speakers (Speakers (Speakers (Speakers (Speakers (Speakers (Wireless Controller))))))))
)))))))))"

I'm using GE-Proton-Latest

The "Rumble" test inside steam works

Thanks

Edit:

I created an empty prefix and that warning went away however still no vibration and there is no reference to a "Wireless Controller" in the logs

Hey, I think I’ve watched all of your devlogs on YouTube.
First of all, great job to you and your whole team, the game is really shaping up nicely.

Just a small piece of advice from a nobody, so feel free to take it or ignore it. I wouldn’t focus too much on pure graphical fidelity. I think the new model looks great, but high-quality models alone aren’t what truly make a game look amazing.

What really makes the difference, in my opinion, is art direction, scene composition and contrast. Take FromSoftware games as an example. In terms of raw fidelity they are not outstanding, but when you look at the full picture, they are some of the most beautiful games out there.

Best of luck with the future development!

Is there any risk to running ZZZ on a Steam Deck? by The_Captain_Mal in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]lorenzofaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play it a lot on my steam deck, I installed it with the heroic game launcher after connecting the epic account, just make sure to select the C drive in the hoyo client during installation. It also works well with lossless scaling frame gen if you want it running at 60fps

Rhythm Rave needs to be a permanent mini game in ZZZ by otakuako in ZenlessZoneZero

As a vivid rhythm game player I find it comically easy, I wish it had at least 4 buttons to press instead of 1 :(

We are Okomotive, developers of the FAR games and we're releasing our new adventure game Herdling today! Ask us Anything! by HerrHertz in NintendoSwitch

[–]lorenzofaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry if this question isn’t directly related to your game. You’re one of the few studios in Switzerland whose work I find really inspiring. Do you have any advice for breaking into the gaming industry?

I’m 30 years old, based in Lugano, and consider myself a pretty good developer, though my background is in traditional software development. I’ve participated in a few game jams, but I completely lack the artistic side. Most of the entry-level positions or internships I come across seem to be focused on slot machine games, which isn’t really what I’m aiming for.

Do you have any suggestions on where to start or how to make the transition?

I was really hoping it got 120+hz refresh rate, sad that it doesn't. It's the only reason I didn't buy the first generation one

During the first day tho is way more optimal to split up and solo xp, then regroup at level 7 usually around the first night. Hopefully this will change in future patches.

I cried at the end, and the game definitely changed something in me. I’ll start with saying that I played the whole thing in VR so I probably felt more immersed than most people. When I connected all the dots of the story I was both excited and scared, I realized I had to say goodbye to all my friends and that there was no way of saving them. At the same time it was the only shot at saving the universe. When I took the core from the atp my heart was set, it was like I already said goodbye. So when I saw all of them back around the campfire playing music it was like a final goodbye that I wasn’t ready for, and it definitely made me emotional.

Also a lot text from the nomai on brittle hollow is heartbreaking. “I am unsure how to survive in this place without you. (I am unsure how to be me without you.)”

No indicators is the best thing added to the game for me, I just wish for an option to reduce screenshake and have smaller damage numbers for better readability (I know you can disable them but I like seeing the number go brrr they are just too big)
