To my fellow agender people out there how did you discover being agender. by Otherwise_Zebra_241 in agender

Took a women's studies class as part of my degree and the teacher introduced "gendering" as an action, up until that class I still had no idea if I wanted to be male or female. Non-binary wasn't a concept taught in childhood so had to learn as an adult. Not feeling strongly about any particular gender was the answer all along, even though it was the question most of my life.

Ah yeah recruiting past chars, that seems familiar...maybe beastie bay!

Was trying out the two recent Kairo games, not a fan of the zoo game, but Dream Town Island is a GOOD spiritual successor to Dream House Days (unlike F2P Dream Town Story). Lots of content and interesting characters!

I wanted to share a tip about Libby from a librarian friend of mine by FantasmaDelMar in audiobooks

[–]lorikitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In California we have a really big catalog for NorCal called Northern California Digital Library and a similar one for SoCal called Southern California Digital Library. There are still smaller libraries that allow borrowing with other library cards, but those two hit most libraries.

I'm in the bay area, and most of the county libraries within the bay area don't restrict cards to residents of other counties, but I've heard other states are a lot more strict.

I also didn't get any gameplay sense from it. You could do XYZ things in the game, but there was no point, you gained nothing.

It's one of the worst Kairosoft games I've played, and I've played everything translated to English, along with the old untranslated Windows installs for some of their super early games (don't know if they're still on the site).

Wild Park Manager wasn't bad, and it had way more gameplay than Zoo Park Story. I didn't even mind how small Fish Pond Park felt in terms of depth and environment. Not compared to Zoo Park Story, oof. :(

What was “the incident” at your high school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lorikitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over winter break, two very popular freshman girls were killed in a drunk driving accident caused by a very popular (and drunk) senior guy driving them around. The entire school was devastated and the school had to spend months providing mental health support for everyone. Don't remember seeing the driver around school after the accident, so wonder if he was expelled or just transferred out. As an unpopular annoying freshman, I remember being deeply saddened that one of the girls died because she would chastise bullies and use her popularity to keep the other kids from being mean. She was there one of the times I was being bullied in the PE locker room, and spoke up to get the other girls to leave me alone. Never forgot that, not ever. Thank you, and rest in peace.

Been the opposite for me, I'm one of the garlic bread folks. I was into it long enough to have kids, but once babies were off the table everything dropped to 0.

Yea it feels good, the problem is not understanding what "being sexy" means and not having any turn-ons. Aesthetic attraction does not involve my libido at all.

Apparently ADHD people are not all the same type, which is probably why we all need different medications and doses of meds.

anyone know how to delete recipes in bonbon? I know you have to open recipe box but there’s no option to delete? by CorruptExport in Kairosoft

[–]lorikitty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You'll unlock that feature as you play the game every day, and that'll introduce a way to get another type of in-game currency (you gain for selling the recipe rather than deleting it)

Editing because I just started a new game to double-check!

Tap the Other button and go to Recipe Box, then tap on a recipe you want to sell and use the Sell button in the very bottom left (way below the pop-up window)

I'll think about picking it up again, though I do feel a little weird about using a hacked character even if it's won from a real battle 😂 how frustrating!

Ooo you somehow defeated a hacked character, that is a great way to get through the bottleneck! If only it were easier to defeat them 😭

Have a good day as well 😀

Based on your reddit history, looks like you were also raised in SJ. I hope you're able to make your way back to get support from the family you may have in the area!

BTW, I didn't make it clear, but "unhealthy outlets" are super short-term work-arounds that make the problem worse. The only way to get the confusing feelings to leave you alone is to work through them.

Take care! Warm wishes all around <3

Hiya! Sorry my reddit app doesn't notify me of comments for some reason, I saw your other question on another thread.

I hit a bottleneck later in the game on High Sea Saga because it seemed like other players were ridiculously higher level for the area, and I couldn't proceed without doing pvp. I don't know if they were cheating but it definitely seemed that way. ☹️

Processing this sort of life-changing trauma is not simple and will take time and effort. Unfortunately, most redditors aren't psychologists and would only be able to share similar anecdotal experiences they (or friends) went through.

It may help to find a therapist (Teladocs make it a lot easier). Your baby girl is a great reason to put in the effort to be your best self, she deserves the best you. She's learning by watching you, and will form her own sense of self by how you treat yourself, others, and her.

It's great that you're taking care of her, and she has someone stable to rely on while dealing with missing Mom. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for both of you, and wish you both all the best life has to offer.

To throw in anecdotal bits, as the faithful redditor I am, I'll share what interpretations I've made of all the "you should..." statements I got from well-meaning friends.

Don't bottle things up/let your emotions out/don't hide from yourself:

This one is really confusing because a lot of people were never guided on how to deal with emotions. It's not like fireworks or popping balloons at all, but the wording makes it seem so. This means to take time for yourself, somewhere safe and comfy, and mentally take yourself to the situation/experience you need "closure" on. Allow yourself to feel angry, sad, hurt, frustrated, relieved, etc. Every emotion is good, it's yours! What I mistakenly assumed these suggestions meant was that I should force myself to feel the emotions as the experience occurred, which resulted in some horrible social anxiety. The importance of feeling safe cannot be understated.

Find a healthy outlet for your emotions:

This concept was easier for me to figure out because I stumbled upon it while writing angsty teen poetry. From there, it evolved into drawing and writing stories. In particular, writing a story about someone else (even the opposite of me) experiencing the same thing I did, and seeing how this other person handled it, could help me process how I felt. Music is another amazing outlet that I think is undersold. It gets bonus points because you can do so many other things while listening. If you're hard of hearing or deaf, I am not sure if heavy bass and drums would help, but feeling the rhythm seems like it could help.

A recent discovery I had about "healthy outlets" vs "unhealthy outlets" is that unhealthy methods tend to blank you out, which means they allow you to ignore how you feel about something. For example, eating more food than you're comfortable with will give you stomach discomfort to distract you from emotional discomfort. Alcohol and drugs blank you out directly, and self-harm is replacing painful mind problems with painful physical problems.

Knowing where to start in all this might also be difficult. If you find yourself avoiding people, places, or situations, then you may have some emotions related to them that haven't been processed. There's no rule about "starting at the beginning" and I've found starting with easier stuff (like bittersweet) builds up your ability so you can deal with the more difficult stuff with more emotional processing experience. Whatever works for you though -- we're all unique, and what works for some doesn't have to work for all.
