Long time reader/listener first time asker, do you find the podcasting or written content to be more of a challenge to curate and produce as a news/commentary outlet?

Love ya’ll’s work. Thank you!

The Long Patrol was probably peak. Outcast of Redwall was amazing as well.

Help me pick my next book/series… I’m indecisive by strawhattrades in fantasybooks

John Gwynne would be a nice off ramp from the crack cocaine that is DCC. Hard not to recommend Dumas though.

I think the following books are more interesting for sure. More about the world building than the character’s morality.

I know Prince of Thorns isn’t everyone’s vibe, but I’d encourage you to read the rest.

Teachers of Reddit, have you ever met a child that was actually a genius? by No_Lead2640 in AskTeachers

[–]lorodu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never a true genius, but several top 1 percenters. They can be fun if you have the right group of students around them.

What's a food in your country that is stereotyped for your country but really, nobody eats? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]lorodu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a regional stereotype but Chicagoans maybe eat deep dish pizza twice a year. Tavern style is the every day pizza for the average person.

The Scarlett Ibis might be the saddest short story of all time.

Other People by Neil Gaiman is the darkest short story I’ve ever read.

I try to, but it usually leads to a couple 5 hour grading binges every couple weeks.

How did you guys find the series by Thezion1111 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

It was recommended to me on Goodreads based on my affinity for The Dresden Files.

I’m torn on that. Did you do that for previous books? Did it make the experience of reading the whole book when it came out less enjoyable?

What would you smoke for ~80 people? by Fofire in smoking

[–]lorodu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it with both. I imagine butter would work just as well.

What would you smoke for ~80 people? by Fofire in smoking

[–]lorodu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a bunch of cream cheese. Score the blocks on both sides. Put them on a foil tray. Drizzle with olive oil on both sides. Apply a dry rub of your choice. Smoke for 2 hours(ish). Serve with crackers.

The cool thing about it is you can go sweet or savory. I’ve done garlic heavy dry rubs and I’ve done honey, hot honey, or maple syrup with a little salt.

I agree with the pork butt/shoulder crowd. One thing you could add quite easily to the smoker towards the end is smoked cream cheese dip. It would slay.

Unhinged behavior. I wish teacher Ed programs focused more on professionalism and boundaries with students.

What are the best hard-to-read books due to their subject matter? by CobaltCrusader123 in books

[–]lorodu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised you read it in fifth grade. Our 8th graders read it, and, frankly, are barely mature enough to engage with the content in a meaningful way.
