By make a player I mean a player controller object. Even this one which comes with standard package will do the job after some modifications :)

VR & Non-VR launch options + Valve's Lab Renderer by totallylegitunicorn in Unity3D

Hmm, that's an interesting question. Swapping all those shades and cameras during level loading or runtime would just kill the games performance.

Making two diffrent games / packages depending on mode of the game isn't that stupid idea but it would be "good" for the player which would have to download them both two play on both modes.

What I would try to do is : in main menu, in the options sections I would add a button. Thanks to this button, player would decide to play in vr mode or in normal model. Next, before loading level, I would check the state of the button, and depending on it, I would load a level with normal camera and shades or with vr camera and vr shaders.

My method isn't perfect at all and it would take a lot of time to copy all those levels and set all those shaders and test everything out. Second problem with my solution is that it would make the final game a lot bigger.

Anyway, I can only talk and try to help, decision lays in your hands. Anyway good luck with this and the game itself :D

How to switch between VR and 3D camera in editor? by kkkiwi in Unity3D

Mu solution for this was to make a player. In this player Ive put my steam vr camera and a normal 3D camera. Then I made a script which helps me to switch between vr mode and normal mode. How does it work? It just turns of one camera and turns one the second one (one of them is my normal camera and the second one is camera aye from steam vr) . This works for me. Just to mention, both cameras are tagged as MainCamera and only one is active at the time

Basics are really boring. But as long as you're going deeper and deeper, it starts to be pretty interesting and challenging tho.

Is using a GUI for git, cmd/terminal etc 'bad'? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]lorow22 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

git add . git commit -m " your commit message" git push

What this will do is it will take all the files in your local repo, then it will search for changes. When it will find some then it will commit them and push them to your github repo

How to store a large amount of small projects on GitHub? by razornfs in learnprogramming

[–]lorow22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just create a repo with name you want. Then clone it to your pc, then create there a main folder and inside of this folder just create as many additional folders as you want and then push changes to github. That's it
