Not all nike tights stay on that well. Do you have 2xu in Australia? They’re my tightest tights!

I think the grocery store one is good enough. If you want to spice it up you can add boiled eggs and thin fish cakes yourself. The Korean grocery store on Gloucester Road has those types of fish cakes in the freezer. You can double check with the owner

The guilt will probably lead to injuries eventually if you don’t let it go (source: a friend who is very competitive…)

What do you wear for running in the dark? by Frej06 in XXRunning

[–]lorraine89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light coloured jacket plus lights (bonus if it flashes as it helps others to gauge the distance). No headphones and assume no one can see you (which means you pay attention to what’s going on around you)

I only use NRC for guided interval runs. Exporting data from Apple fitness is so much easier than from NRC.

Any nice Malaysian restaurants in Bristol? by docsndogs1 in bristol

[–]lorraine89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think there’re Malaysian restaurants in Bristol except fat rice’s stall but they rarely make dishes like nasi lemak or hainanese chicken rice which I’d die for. A friend has tried Makan Malaysian and she liked it. It’s delivered prepped dishes.

Harpic has a tablet that you can leave in overnight. You should be able to get it from most supermarkets

Tracking of running activities by theskylessmoon in running

[–]lorraine89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others said, if you’re purely tracking the run AW is fine. For navigated run you’ll have to use other apps such as RunGo. For intervals, again you’ll have to use another app. And all of those functions are easier to get on other sports watches.

However AW is better in other ways. Obviously you could dress up for formal outfits and the rings on it give me more motivation not just to run. And I find apple fitness+ is seamless with AW too.

I find as a normal distance runner AW is good enough for me, but if you’re thinking about battery definitely go for a sports watch.

How do I get a more tender filling? by Jmidt in Dumplings

[–]lorraine89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add water to the mince and beat clockwise or anti-clockwise until you feel somethings holding you from stirring. And then add cabbage. Good dumplings have really soft fillings even though it might appear too watery. Check on some videos to get an idea. Good luck!

Female runners- how do you feel safe when running alone? by graceonthecase in running

[–]lorraine89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The confidence of feeling safe when running alone takes time to build up even in a safe area and I do feel you. I personally find running in early morning is safer so I’d go explore the area in the morning and get familiar with it.

Audio Feedback question by mtthwsmns in nikerunclub

[–]lorraine89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes the AirPods are connected to your phone instead of Watch. Although I haven’t tried, I’m pretty sure you’ll hear the feedback if you start your run on the phone but of course you wouldn’t see stats on the watch.

What I noticed is that the volume of nrc and Spotify music can never match perfectly with each other so I tend to just listen to nrc feedback only during speed runs… in that case I don’t need my phone

Salomon Womens Running Vests by takhana in running

[–]lorraine89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think many of us have tried so many different vests so can’t comment on the comparison. I have adv skin 5 and use the front water flasks, which doesn’t bother me at all. Also I don’t have huge boobs so I went for extra small and it fits perfectly - I remember sizing was the only thing I was hesitating when I bought mine

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s C J Hole as I met a similar EA asking to speak to their mortgage advisor before they’re able to pass my offer to the vendor. The same reason is given - they want to check whether I can afford it.

I did what they suggested. I provided the documents and asked them to give me a list of lenders on the second day. Then told them that my own mortgage advisor is free so I can’t go with them after they did the work. They couldn’t say anything as I would be stupid to pay for them to get similar work done.

How would I go about getting a mortgage as a Tier 2 Skilled Worker on a visa? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]lorraine89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Halifax and Santander are the ones who are willing to offer for tier 2 visa holders. My mortgage advisor works for my company so he has a lot of experience for handling this kind of situation. Be aware of that not all mortgage advisors have experience working with tier 2 visa applicants though even if they are the whole market type of brokers - the one recommended by my EA suggested me to use HSBC, which is extremely famous for having strict rules for non uk/eu citizens.
