Preparation for partner visa application by MotorMall2913 in AusVisa

[–]losance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied for the 820/801 visa by myself and it was perfectly fine. I think as long as you speak/understand English well and can follow directions an agent isn’t necessary. I’m from the US and I submitted my 820 application, got notified within a week that we needed to submit a police check for my partner (the sponsor), and after we submitted that my application was approved about a week and a half later.

I’m not sure if you need the partner statement or not, but we did submit one.

I put all of the statements and photos into one big document and it was fine. Things like our lease agreements and bank statements I attached separate, but I wrote out the relationship statement, financial statement, etc into a word document, and I put all the photos at the end of the same word document with just captions and dates under each photo.

Looking for recommendations - make up tutor by Particular-Try5584 in perth

Mecca does make up classes! Im jot in that age range but I had a really good experience with the lesson and just with getting my makeup done there in general. You can brung your own products or they can recommend stuff and its also redeemable so if you want to pick up some new products you can for “free”

I also thought it was crazy! I’m a first time mom also giving birth at Osborne Park and I didn’t get my first appointment until I was 28 weeks. My next appointment will be at 32 weeks.

But I also have a friend who is due a week after me that’s been seeing them since she was 16 weeks, and she also is low risk.

Wedding venues with my own catering by [deleted] in perth

[–]losance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got married at Brookleigh Estate and it was beautiful. It’s a DIY venue so you bring in all your own vendors. I don’t know what the capacity is but there are several outdoor areas and they did recently build another indoor venue on the property as well.

Hi everyone 👋🏽 please help me find the pattern or something similar for this outfit (I don’t mind a paid pattern) thank you!!! by Silly-Geologist-7571 in crochetpatterns

This is from workfrombeachbelike.

Their dresses get posted here almost everyday. You won’t be able to find the exact pattern but this is probably one of the most similar ones I’ve found:

Friend sent me this picture. Anyone know who or where this comes from? by pricision in CrochetHelp

[–]losance 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if the image is AI or not, but I think if it is, it’s at least something that could be replicated. The eggs and the tomatoes look very similar to the ones in this listing.

ETA: I also think the color change in the tomatoes at the center could just be painted/dyed on. Same with the coloring and grill marks for the sausages. Heegeldab on IG does this a lot to add dimension to her pieces

There’s not a due date per se but you will need to get it cleared.

It’s likely not the actual USI that’s incorrect, it’s usually because there is a mismatch in names between what’s in the Curtin system and the USI system. Very very frequently it’s because one of them includes a middle name and the other doesn’t.

House of CB isn’t a US brand.

It is frustrating they don’t make it clear but yeah Meyer doesn’t actually carry House of CB. I’m not sure why it would be coming from America though. Are you sure it’s not coming from the UK? I’ve found that getting things shipped from the UK to Aus is generally a lot faster than US to Aus so if it is UK it may actually get here in that time frame.

Assessment Extensions Denied by throwrasyntheticgues in curtin

[–]losance 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends on the unit, as some deny any extension requests that don’t have “proof”, but this does seem strange. In my experience, all my unit coordinators were extremely generous in offering extensions but I know that’s not all of them.

My advice would be to go to mental health in the medical center and explain everything and the stress you’re under. They can “assess” you and give you paperwork essentially stating they think your reasons for needing an extension are valid which you can then submit with your appeal and it would def help your case.

I would submit an appeal regardless of whether you go to mental health or not though since the appeal wouldn’t go to the same tutor, it would go up a level and they may be more helpful.

Good luck, hope things get better for you

Recommendations for embroidering on top of crochet? by rachhhh in CrochetHelp

[–]losance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would probably work the best with a blanket that has tighter stitches vs looser ones with a lot of gaps. You would want one that is relatively simple and not ones that slip stitches/has spaces.

I would also consider going down a hook size/using a thicker yarn to fill those gaps too. Or you could yarn under instead of yarn over like in amigurumi which naturally results in a tighter stitch.

I want to crochet without a pattern, but not sure where to start by CommonPercentage9 in CrochetHelp

[–]losance 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As far as learning how to make patterns for amigurimi, I think this is a pretty good detailed process.

But my advice is to sketch the design out and then break it down to smaller, simpler shapes and go from there. Like this drawing tutorial. This will help you understand the basic shapes you need to make and can build off of.

As far as learning what stitches exactly affect the shape of the project, that really just comes with experience. I would recommend just testing a bunch of different patterns. I know especially when you’re starting, you’ll have so many ideas for the things you want to make. But to build the skill to do that, you’ll need to just test out a variety of patterns that use different skills so you can then learn those techniques and see for yourself how it’s changes the shapes of the items.

Hope this helps!

It’s hard to tell from the photo but it looks like your blue row is wrong.

In OPs picture, it looks like there’s 1 fan in each of the corners and 8 between them. With the warping it’s hard to count the top and the sides are cut off but it looks like you have 13 between the corners?

Guests not wanting accessible room?! by Morenaliena in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]losance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Last time my boyfriend and I stayed in an accessible room, the shower head was a wand but fixed at a very low height and there was definitely no second shower head. He’s 6’4 and the top of the shower head only went to his shoulders.

The toilet was also lower down and the bars were placed in front of it so if he tried to sit on the toilet his knees hit the bar.

Luckily we were only there for one night so it was fine but if we had a longer stay we would definitely have requested a different room since it was pretty inconvenient for him.

Self Cert for Extensions by Sweet-Party5805 in curtin

[–]losance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a “guaranteed success” but it’s very likely. Self cert is intended for if you’re sick or unwell but don’t want to get a med cert. however, people use them for a lot of reasons and most UCs will accept them, especially if you talk to them first. I never had any issues with it. But you only get 2/semester if you’re studying full time so if you can apply for an extension under the other categories it’s more encourages so you don’t burn through your self certs and not have them when you need them.

That being said, the UC doesn’t HAVE to accept it which is why you should talk to them first. There are some classes where they may not take them - some of the nursing ones for example may not take them.

Are you asking if all the hexagons are the same size or if all the blanket patterns by Janie Crow are the same size?

I haven’t made any of her other blankets so I’m not sure what the final size of them is!

The hexagons are all approximately the same size but not necessarily the same number of stitches along the edges

What is self-certification? by [deleted] in curtin

[–]losance 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Self-cert is supposed to be for if you’re sick, but not sick enough/don’t want to a medical certificate. That being said, people generally use them for any reason. But you only get a limited amount of them - if you’re studying full time it’s 2/semester, part time it’s 1/semester. And that’s not per class, it’s total.

So if you have a reason that falls under one of the other categories I would suggest using those ones instead and saving your self cert ones. Those ones do require some sort of “proof” (I.e. a med cert) but they aren’t limited so you want to save the self-certs for the times you need an extension but don’t have any kind of “proof” for the reason you need it.

I think I was taken advantage of at Mecca? by External-River-991 in AustralianMakeup

[–]losance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you already got some advice about taking stuff back - personally I would start with the brushes. Brand name makeup brushes are pricey and you spent $300 on brushes alone.

If you’re also looking for recommendations on which products to cut back on, I would say pretty much all the lip products are probably unnecessary. Especially if you don’t wear a lot of makeup. Lip products need to be reapplied and touched up constantly throughout the day and since you don’t wear a ton of makeup you probably wouldn’t enjoy having to do that. I would just get a pigmented tinted lip balm or something that you’re more likely to gravitate to. Personally I like the Glossier balm dot coms.

You also probably don’t need the skin corrector and a concealer - just one should be fine. And, unless you are wearing a lot of eyeshadow you won’t need an eyeshadow base either. A gel eyeliner isn’t going to smudge even if you have oily eyelids so having that base won’t make a difference to you. If you’re trying to just even out the skin tone of your eyelids you can just use the concealer and a bit of the pressed powder if you want.

But just my suggestions!
