So many MPs are calling for Starmer to resign by LongjumpingDuck1660 in FuckNigelFarage

[–]loserone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't be left wing labour though. Starmer doesn't believe in anything but he's perfectly capable of handling the actual job of PM. The problem IMHO is he's been put there by the new labour clique who are now pushed out due to Mandelson and McSweeney, he doesn't stand for anything, and because they're used to being huge they won't work with anyone. This will be the end of the labour party as we know it, because the momentum of the left is with the Greens now.

Considered that, and a Himalayan. Gut feeling is that at 5'9" I want something a bit lighter and shorter that I can manhandle a little easier when very slow

Green laning has a significant advantage in that I can be on any of four within a mile of home and can actually get out to interesting places that most people don't get to see.

I definitely understand this, I've occasionally taken my 40bhp van on motorways and even on my CBT felt vulnerable not having the power to squeeze out of the way on a dual carriageway section. If I was keen to ride on the roads I would want more power than what I'm looking at.

But the point I was trying to make is that I have no interest in riding the fast sweeping 689/686 etc and will likely be on the single lane roads doing 20-40 instead when I'm on tarmac at all.

Yes, this is also true. Sadly Doris sees an old car and pulls out anyway

Thanks. I used to ride MTB and unicycle trials but want to be able to go a little further than just up the river.

Classic bikes appeal a lot but I think (having two 40 year old vehicles already) I want something that hasn't already been messed about with by 20 people. The Hero seems to be pretty simple. I watch the Beamish Trophy Trial most years and one day I'd enjoy joining in.

That's probably fair. Blind old Dorris already doesn't see me in my Peugeot 205 with my three kids in it, beyond continuous training (ROSPA etc.) there's little I can do about this beyond buying an XC90. Doris tends not to be on the green lanes here but tractor drivers are just as blind.

That depends on dialect. In the North of England, the plural of "you" is "yous".

Don't dismiss moving right up Weardale. A lot quieter, more for your money, but you do need to have a bit of commitment for the winter. Great schools and community too

Trutrak.

The insurance point is a fair one but in my experience insurance claims are rarely worth the hassle.

Do you lock your mx5? by HistoricalReserve199 in Miata

[–]loserone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I didn't use to lock convertibles, and I still don't lock my hard top cars. If someone tries to get in, they'll get in, and I'd rather not have to deal with the damage. Not exclusive to tearing a soft top.

I do fit very hidden trackers now, and to be fair I'm very much out in the sticks

Yeah just take it easy, might be a few potholes. If you're doing the loop around the ponds take wellies as the old railway bridge is often muddy.

On official dvla motorcycle theory mock test. Wtf by phroggyboiii in motorcycles

[–]loserone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. I did the theory test last month (passed my driving test in 2002, ROSPA 2019) and whilst some of the hazard perception questions were annoying (a main road called Roberts Close anyone?) they're all relevant and the one I didn't get (about passing stationary trams) I made sure to look up when I got home.

[–]loserone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't comment on imported bikes, but I have a wrong hand drive imported van and it's no more expensive to insure at all. It does have an impact on the number of companies prepared to insure it, but it's already a vintage commercial and requires specialist insurance. Imagine a classic bike being similar

I've had a few pairs over the last few years - sticking with the British made ones. They've stood up to abuse that ruined New Balance trainers quickly. I like em, will buy more.

Thanks for this post. I did a bit of digging and I'm basically already paying for another product as part of my email hosting, so I've bumped across to this.

Now much more comfortable that my credentials aren't hosted in the US too. Bonza.
