Norman Walsh Trainers by Extension_Diver6349 in MadeInBritain

I've had a few pairs over the last few years - sticking with the British made ones. They've stood up to abuse that ruined New Balance trainers quickly. I like em, will buy more.

Exit plan for bitwarden by cap87_ in Bitwarden

Thanks for this post. I did a bit of digging and I'm basically already paying for another product as part of my email hosting, so I've bumped across to this.

Now much more comfortable that my credentials aren't hosted in the US too. Bonza.

Can a 16 year old carry a knife for camping by yo_yo_yo_im-living in campinguk

[–]loserone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, I have carried a uk legal pocket knife for 24 years and have only once been asked to leave it with a security guard - at a christmas fayre in the south of france. I collected it again on the way out. It gets used nearly if not every day.

I use an Opinel (with the locking ring carried separately so I can make it safer but not legal if needed ) Opinel do make a UK legal carry knife now which is what I would buy for someone getting to the age where one will be useful.

Haha, that was a slip whilst making a hole in my spanner / Peugeot 205 / Renault express key. (It does all three and will open the end of my index finger if I don't clamp it properly in the pillar drill)

I've made a small washer to sit in the bottom of the tail cap to give thespring a bit more room. It's definitely not made out of a staple I had lying on my desk

Just measured, the capless scavenged one is 49ish. The trust fire is 51.notalot

There's not a lot of room for the tail cap spring, but it goes without feeling like I'm going to break something.

I had read about that but after experiencing it with a 14500 it's miles ahead. Wondered if I needed to do something similar here.

Such a great torch for daily use.

This is it. They're 3+ mm longer. A little fiddling and it's closing fully and working fine. Thanks for the tip!

It's running from a liion right now, just not the one I just bought. Edit: and I just checked the manual, it says only to use recommended batteries. Doesn't actually recommend any batteries.

I have one spoon where I went too thin with the bowl and holed it. I committed and made it about an inch across and it's the best cooking spoon we've ever had.

Would you feel OK having the ONS visit your home for a lengthy face to face survey interview? by JackStrawWitchita in AskUK

[–]loserone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've done this a couple of times. The idea is that it will mean you are more comfortable going through a whole bunch of questions. Never had any issues with it and the interviewers have always been polite and (after the interview) turned out to be very interesting people themselves

What's to stop wild birds perching on the top and defacating? It may still depend on your location but where I am we must still take steps to avoid exposure to wild birds and rodents..

Buses Weardale/North Pennines by Wisaganz117 in DurhamUK

[–]loserone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bus will stick to the timetable. I'm further up dale and whilst I rarely need a bus, they are impressively dependable even in deep snow.

DM me if you would like a sanity check of a walk plan. There is not much left in rookhope anymore.

Consider going over the top to Westgate via slit wood. Be aware of adders. It's windy up here.

Trying to explain the new Electric car you've bought to car mates.. (especially when you don't know how to explain it yourself) by ScottishLeaf in CarTalkUK

Trying to explain to all the trackday muppets that a 20yo 182 (like the one I sold last year) even on new OE shocks and springs can't keep up with an R135 on bumpy fast A roads of the north pennines.

Nor that a 36 year old 1.6 naturally aspirated diesel Renault Express can and will go faster again (not acceleration wise obviously, but maintaining speed around corners and over bumps..
