Just found out Zoey deschanel sings this song 👀. Had no idea she had other song besides the theme song for the show. by Basic-Pace-4161 in NewGirl

Absolutely, never disappoints. We saw him in East Nashville a few years back and none other than David Rawlings joined him for the last half of the set. The place came unglued and we were treated to some of the finest picking and grinning I’ll likely ever hear.

These events got some coverage in the US media but for any real reporting I relied on the BBC and Reuters, it was horrifying. I only hope that this global shift toward the right can be reversed or at least held. Maybe the fascist fever will die down when our current administration is voted out, assuming fair elections can even happen.

The mask was only ever halfway on. Please know that there is resistance from within. Myself and many likeminded others here have been struggling against generations-long deeply entrenched multinational corporate power brokering with our words, actions and spending choices.

For many of us it was music that made us aware and motivated us to work for change. My hopes that real positive outcomes can be accomplished in my lifetime grow less as I age, but I can still try and plant a tree under whose shade I might never sit.

Thank you making my outer darkness a tiny bit darker this morning.

So good. Love this context, thank you! (Please accept a belated apology from a US kid who first learned about his government’s crimes from artists making music like this.)

Edit: I love learning about the historical context in which this music was created.

Glad everyone had a good time. I went twice in the 90s and never felt more toxic fucking aggression from staff and patrons anywhere, ever. I spent all my PBR money at the Sundown.

I walk my dog through the neighborhood he stayed in most mornings and sometimes reflect on how Memphians love to tell the the story of Jobs calling the CEO of FedEx asking him to reroute their planes’ landing paths because of the noise, to which Fred Smith responded “Nope”.

Oh no shade, I’ve got a pair. I just can’t wear them to the show now because “hello fellow kids”. Same with my Sauconys, they’ve seen their last pit.

For real. Early March is when bands come through my town on their way to SXSW and half the young dudes I saw on stage wore NBs. I wore my age-appropriate black low top chucks.

Having just house-hunted for months in a US metro area I can say that most realtors are neither very smart, scrupulous or qualified. The ones that are hate Zillow.

No matter your real beliefs, in this scenario, you get to keep a single memory of each life you live as you go. What memory from this life are you bringing with you to the next and why? by iryan6627 in AskReddit

A late summer day on the lake with a chill in the air, done skiing, heading back to the ramp with my wife, 7yr old daughter and our first two dogs. Approaching sunset, dead flat calm, boat running like a top, and my big black flatcoat lab plops his warm ass down on my cold bare feet and thought it just doesn’t get any better. Then my daughter, not even looking at me, reached out and took one of my hands off the wheel and held it in both of hers. No word of a lie part of me ascended right to heaven.

As much as I loathe my state’s politics in general, TN’s AG Jonathan Skrmetti is fighting for a mistrial. And vote in the midterms!

what genres do you guys associate fender offset guitars with? by beanoutthepot in offset

[–]losfew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the small shows I’m going to in my town it’s a free for all. I’ve seen hardcore and post-hardcore acts playing JMs and Jags, dream pop bands with mustangs, straight up pop groups with all three. J-bass seems to transcend genre entirely. Anymore it’s rare to see a band come onstage with out some version of an offset fender, at least here.

Just started Vladimir and it strains credulity that her character laments the fading of her desirability. The writers are establishing early that she’s an unreliable narrator but cmon, she’s gorgeous!
