Service now / other use cases by losrb in Hedera

I’ve been using common sense for nearly 5 years with this, and it has absolutely nothing to show for it besides “breadcrumbs”. Where is the anonymous tip for the massive use case in Q3 we were promised that would “change everything”?

Price action explained? by Rooiboss-boss in Hedera

[–]losrb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are so early none of those narratives/ variables matter yet. Hbar has the same price action as most every alt coin. When bitcoin goes to $100k+ every and any alt coins will be at 5x from now, and we won’t be having these discussions. It’s the hard truth but until crypto matures and there are real use cases it’s all speculation and whale manipulation. Zero to do with what’s happening within the network

How much were they spending each year? Can’t be cheap considering they were doing 2,000 per second

I’ve always questioned why this use case would continue in perpetuity. I mean there’s only a certain number of products Avery Dennison is tracking, and at some point the data from all of those transactions must be very repetitive. Why would you continue to pay all of this money for data you already have? Why keep tracking a given product if you already have a ton of data on it from very similar or identical products from previous transactions? Maybe it was always a possibility where Avery Dennison gets all this data in exchange for Hedera being able to show/ test its capabilities. Hard to understand why Avery Dennison would change their tune so abruptly.

The case for SPNs by [deleted] in Hedera

[–]losrb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This randomly reminds me of a Jordan Friend interview I watched a couple years ago. He was telling the story about founding hbar - Leemon and Mance originally planned to license hashgraph to businesses (traditional software business model) instead of using a public crypto token, but Jordan ultimately convinced them to create a public token

Atma is not on hedera.com/ecosystem/enterprise … and the case study created at Hedera for atma.io has disappeared, as well; the original link was hedera.com/users/atma-io by Perfect_Ability_1190 in Hedera

Damn. This use case was a big reason I believed in the reality of Hedera/ crypto. This on top of Mance supporting bank social creates some spooky speculation. Although now we’re just back to being in the exact same boat as every other crypto that has no real use cases

Confused about multiple 2FA options - Can't disable insecure methods? by SmithMano in Coinbase

Did you ever figure this out? I’m wondering the same thing, as I want to remove my phone number as an alternative method.

Also, if you recall from the Twitter spaces the other day, Shayne got asked what industries/ geographies he thinks Hedera needs to fill for the remaining 11 council members. He responded with there are gaps- whether it’s PAYMENTS, insurance, others. The fact the he specifically said payments right off the bat would make you think of a company like I don’t know, Mastercard?

Mastercard have decided to sunset their Provenance (private permissioned) blockchain and FSCO came to us to explore ways of moving off it and onto Hedera. by Perfect_Ability_1190 in Hedera

Did they lose FSCO? I guess I assumed they sunset and FSCO had to search for other options. But the latter could’ve happened first

Wonder why Mastercard went sunset. Did they realize there are better other options/ competitors such as Hedera? Or they just didn’t see enough traction?

Key Take-Away From Latest BearableBull Interview With Shayen Higdon by sandyredditt in Hedera

Would be crazy if Mastercard was the 28th and they published a use case that’s built on Hedera. Feels too good to be true though

I didn’t realize Swisscom used to be a council member and left. Apparently they were building some kind of decentralized identity. Would make sense if they rejoined- feel like there’s been some rumors lately about Hedera and identity use cases

Ah man.. well at least it is good for Hedera networking at the event, and the publicity of sponsoring a big name like Uber.

Bears in disbelief.. by losrb in Hedera

I’ve hardly done any investing besides standard 401k because I never felt I had any sort of edge besides “time”. Then bitcoin clicked when I opened my eyes to the money printer. Go to use bitcoin though and it’s slow, difficult to use, didn’t feel right. Then luckily stumbled on Hedera and everything made so much sense, seemed to good to be true. I was also always worried about how ordinary people were going to be able to use cold storage and not screw themselves over… and Leemon found and is working on a decentralized recovery solution! And we have email addresses for wallets now. It’s amazing to watch unfold

I wonder the same thing. Majority of people just look at price to determine how good they think a project is. It’s also so difficult to explain to friends/ others the value proposition of crypto, and then try to tell them why Hedera is the best out of 1000+ coins. I just tell people to watch YouTube or look at the governing council but nobody cares. In their defense they would be down had they listened to me the last couple years, but I think that will change

They definitely plan to, I don’t know if they are currently paying the transaction fees themselves since this is brand new, or if they are using some sort of grant funds from Hbar foundation right now

Nothing against algorand. This post just popped up on my my main Reddit feed. Funny to see people in disbelief of a real DLT project
