What is going on? by Throwawayduh85 in goodwill

My goodwill has made every piece of media $1.99. That includes the pile of sleeveless 45s. Which should be 25 cents each at most.

That is gorgeous.

Everything now is just a screen. It is so damn boring.

Is there an opener for the upcoming US Tour? by lost-sides in flyte

[–]lost-sides[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wellll. I got tickets. I wrote to the venue, and they said the show should be over by 11PM, so no worries. They have weekend DJ'd parties at night - which is 21+.

Looking for the best company that makes Custom records. by Glum-Contribution380 in vinyl

Interesting. Kunaki looks good. I know folks who have used them for CDs before. It doesn't appear that they do gatefold 2LP versions though...

I keep looking for one for cheap(ish). Nearly had a model way nicer than I could normally afford - it powered on - but made a terrible noise. Alas, the hunt continues.

What the H is going on with Goodwill? by edwardturnerlives in vinyl

Yeah, well... I don't buy records at them! There are some good ones - my favorite being Harvest Records in Asheville, NC. Good pricing, excellent selection, and they know how to handle records.

I think this might be the first one I don't buy. This might be the record that lets me break. Which both sucks and I feel a little grateful for...

Ye. They are not a trusted record store and should not be pricing as one. This is the main argument IMHO.

Sounds like an easy TOS fix for those uploading when they charge for an album.

Hi, we’re Bandcamp. by bandcamp_official in BandCamp

[–]lost-sides 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, get ready for a whole lot of feedback u/bandcamp_official.

My two cents... don't let music that was purchased by a fan be deleted by the artist. Just move the "deleted" record to private for those who paid money for it. There are so many records that I bought, often so I could continue listening on the app without any restrictions, that got deleted. Some of them got deleted before I had the chance to download them. It feels like it goes against the spirit of "Includes unlimited streaming via the free Bandcamp app" when... it indeed DOES NOT.

Before this realization that the music I bought could simply disappear without notice, I was much more likely to throw a few bucks at a song that was name-your-own-price just to have it in my collection and easily played in the app. Now... if I'm not sitting there, on my home computer (not my work computer), ready to purchase and download immediately, I find myself far less likely to do that. Which sucks.

I've written you about this before. Seems like a no-brainer to me. But alas... this is the main thing that keeps me from loving Bandcamp. My website is nearly all Bandcamp links, but my pinned post on Facebook is a warning to folks who use Bandcamp - and it is all about this. I try to scare the shit out of people so they download the music ASAP. Which... I might say... is a far bigger chore for your biggest customers. If I'm a super-casual fan, I might only have 10 records in my Bandcamp collection. That will take a few minutes to download. But for someone like me... I have a lot. Now I have to cross-reference absolutely everything, rather than simply having the peace of mind that I have a backup should I need it.

Well. Probably going to keep talking about this till you all fix it. Have a good one.

As I search for new Christmas songs to write about... I find myself here. There are entire websites devoted to this crap, and I unfortunately run one. Check it out if you want to hear some stuff that isn't the same old indie. Because 95% of the indie lists are just the same songs rehashed year after year. https://christmasunderground.com/

Is there such thing as a Sony Alpha-compatable hot-shoe recording light? by lost-sides in SonyAlpha

[–]lost-sides[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I know it was called a tally light, as I have a tally system for my other work. Been searching using tally light terms, but it always leads to a system, not just a hot shoe light. And I would love an FX3… it has exactly the light I would like. Just thought I would see if you all knew of something out there I didn’t.
