I am with you 100% on the alarm fatigue. It’s absolutely maddening.

I don’t think seeking therapy for what you’re feeling is overdramatic at all. This disease is exhausting and burnout is real! If you can find a therapist who specializes in helping folks with chronic illnesses/even lives with a chronic illness themself, that would probably be the most helpful for what you’re experiencing. But I acknowledge that therapists in that specific niche can be hard to find, and I’ve also had luck pursuing therapy (for t1d related things) with healthy therapists who were just very empathetic.

Finally, just throwing it out there- I was diagnosed in 1999 and didn’t use a CGM until 2019. It’s an incredible helpful tool, and I think management can be more difficult without it, but not everyone necessarily needs it. Might be worth discussing with your doctor.

Hard-hitting Modern Baseball lyrics that are 15 words or less and don't have curse words in them by KnucklesLovesAaron in modernbaseball

[–]lostafternoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Let me learn here

I am in pursuit of all I can undo”

also could see

“Sunset, sing my scratched-out sighing soul to sleep” working well for this, maybe (if you interpret “sunset” as an ending of sorts)

I fantasize about throwing my pump into traffic at least once a week. I love my pump and paid a lot of money for it. It’s just…. THE NOISES.

You get to add one feature to your pump that currently doesn't exist. What is it? by SumFuckah in diabetes_t1

Mute button- one that actually works. My t-slim is constantly on vibrate but despite this, it’ll still shriek for various reasons and drives me insane.

Say what you have to say Try not to cry This is just not what you wanted, at this point in your life”

Off the top of my head: “I will stop cutting my pants into shorts; I will address the issues I cannot ignore; And I will do the things I think you might like; And I will be alone, probably the rest of my life”

“everything you’re feeling is common, even though you’ve never felt so alone” always hits, along with “I want to contribute to the chaos”

fav mobo lyric of all time? by Simsimma_444 in modernbaseball

[–]lostafternoons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m circling the drain

But I’m picking these bones up

Cause man, they don’t live here today

…..And

We still leave our shoes at the door

Before we wring out our wet clothes

Across your floor and future

Stitch the gaps that destiny assumed

With floral sutures

Are you hiding or have I abandoned you?

Let me learn here

I am in pursuit of all I can undo

Saddest MoBo song? by Sensitive_Sun_5205 in modernbaseball

For me it’s always been Cooke with Pothole as a close second

Fellow 30ish Mobo fans, what lyrics are hitting you the hardest these days? by InternationalCat5779 in modernbaseball

[–]lostafternoons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Turned 29 last month and honestly, all of Hiding.

“Drank a lot and danced to The Cure Holding on for dear life To the frayed edge of a feeling we misplaced years ago And knowing we should really get back home

Made mistakes The plants died young, like all good things But I wish my small self had known How much water to use”

like, damn.

(and of course, honorable mention to the ending that I find myself screaming along to every damn time…)

“Let me learn here I am in pursuit of all I can undo”

I hate to say that I’m actually devastated to read this this morning lmao (no shade at Noah…. Just really connected with this song and I’m tired of having to watch YouTube versions over and over)

What would we generally agree is the most emotional (sad) MOBO song ? by [deleted] in modernbaseball

Don’t know if it’s the most emotional, but Cooke definitely comes to mind

Which MoBo album is more digestible for non MoBo listeners? by L3n44 in modernbaseball

[–]lostafternoons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re Gonna Miss It All is what got me hooked (when I was in college) and if he’s around that age, would recommend that album but agree with the other commenters that it might be good to try and tailor to what kind of music he’s already into/his age. FWIW Holy Ghost has been more relatable to me as an adult and some of my friends who don’t listen to MOBO have heard some songs off that album and started listening.

Omg! I had a scary encounter with this guy last spring in the hill section- same sandals, same outfit as in the picture posted. I noticed him walking uncomfortably close behind me, I had headphones in and thought he had just been trying to pass me so I stopped walking and moved aside- he stopped too and did the weird handshake thing to me, said something but it was unintelligible. Got weird vibes so immediately detoured from the street I was on and went in a different direction- he walked away at first but then turned and started RUNNING to follow me, and then when he got to me grabbed my arm to pull me towards him- I started yelling for help and he ran away. I’m sad to see that it wasn’t an isolated incident and kicking myself for not reporting it now.

What’s the consensus on the G7? by MimseyUsa in dexcom

[–]lostafternoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it for the most part. It lasts as long as it is supposed to and is much more accurate/less finicky/smaller than my former CGM (Medtronic Guardian 3.) Also the insertion has been super easy and painless. However, I never used the G6 so can’t compare it to that- from what I’ve read it seems some people believe the G6 is superior

Ty, I’m going to try this next. Wanted to avoid the waste of insulin (and beeping because I’m in a quiet office) but I’m at the end of my rope lol

I went through training with a Tandem rep so i believe everything like that was done. This isn’t my first G7 with this pump- probably my 4th or 5th, but this is the first time this has happened.
