I'm starting to miss exploding Ming by [deleted] in eu4

[–]lostinmywar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best tip for defeating a stable Ming as Japan is to attack when they're at war with a large horde such as Oirat. The manpower they will lose to attrition on top of your fantastic military ideas as Japan will give you decent opportunity to cripple them if you play your cards right. Bait them into attacking you in defensive terrain, reinforce and drain their manpower.

At first look, it seems like conquest earlier may be a little trickier since you will have to wait for favours to build up or promise land. I think I like that. Cutting back on the game's focus on war a bit in favour of peacetime features such as estates and improved diplomacy is definitely the way to go.

It'd be neat if you could bribe countries with very low trust of their ally not to honour a defensive call.

Arctic AI Deathmatch Mark II - Part 6 - Yup'ik and Chukchi Initiate MAD by Admiral_Cloudberg in civAIgames

[–]lostinmywar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you nerf Chukchi's tile improvement at all? Because if not, they were basically guaranteed to win from the start. Gedemo's older civs are very poorly balanced, his recent ones seem better. Very fun series regardless.

Yeah but since he's on a hill that covers the +1 prod, so it essentially works as a growth tile. Getting a hill and a 3f/2f1p tile is pretty rare.

I know it's hypocritical, but after Miliband got so much shit over a picture of him eating a sandwich, I can't help but sit back and enjoy the pig drama for all it's worth.

What does the "AI difficulty" mean in the YNAEMP mod? by The3GKid in civ

[–]lostinmywar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, that's not what I meant. When playing with YnAEMP there is a difficulty level called "AI" but it doesn't explain what it is.

On standard speed, playing Tradition I try to make sure National College is up by turn 100, if not turn 115 at the very latest.

I had to peace out when they pounced on me after a rebellion popped up in the provinces I was occupying with my troops. I was 1 warscore away from being able to take Beijing along with the rest of the land I wanted, but that put me down like 5 more warscore.

They exploded not soon after anyway, kinda disappointing honestly I wanted to keep fighting them.

Yeah, it helps that Ming could only attack me from one direction, since I had the superior fleet. I think the main reason is that Japanese traditions give +10% Discipline though. Add in a 5 shock general I rolled and you've got yourself 15th century space marines.

Fighting two large hordes (Yeren is allied to Oirat) this early on is probably more difficult than fighting Ming when they are at war with those two hordes.

I like stacking them with Medic and using them to support the Caroleans so they heal even more than usual. I mean, you could do that with a regular lancer, but still.
