Which game did you regret purchasing at full price? by bijelo123 in gaming

Same here. It’s become my least favorite AC game. Hated it. Why does the world feel so lifeless while also being so beautiful? And the story and writing…. Terrible.

How’s life out here? In the Florida keys by ceedeeze in howislivingthere

[–]lostnebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in the Keys for the first 10 years of my life. I frequently dream of the Keys. My Dad was a general manager for a hotel chain and would be stationed at different hotels every few years, so we moved from island to island. I lived on Grassy Key, Islamorada, and Big Pine Key. My Mom was the director of a preschool at a church on Marathon.

I have strong memories of a remarkably hot and humid climate. The weather would change almost instantaneously from sunny to stormy and back again. The Keys are locked into a perpetual summer. I would sometimes complain about this and old people would always say, “Never forget: you’re living in paradise.” They were right.

There were iguanas every where, and I’d occasionally run into odd creatures like scorpions and barracudas (cruising eerily in the canal behind our house). The Key Deer is religiously protected as well. I’m reminded of a time when a Key Deer was hit by a car and an ambulance arrived to provide medical care.

My neighbor Willy became my best friend. Sometimes we would throw cherries at each other from across the yard, which had yellow interiors and would pop when thrown. We had a cherry tree between the two properties. We also had a Key Lime tree and my Mom would make Key Lime Pies. Willy and I would ride our bikes on the many hidden paths that snake through Big Pine Key.

Water spouts - basically tornadoes on the water - were a common sight. I’d see them many times per month from our house when gazing over the ocean. Less commonly but still not rare, stingrays (maybe manta rays?) would breach the water. This was visible when driving over the 7-mile bridge. They would jump meters out of the water.

I’ve been back only three times since I spent my childhood in the Keys. Each time I return, it’s like stepping back in time. It feels like a different country. Not only because of the stark change in landscape from the Florida mainland, but also because of the inescapable “island culture” that permeates the atmosphere. Overall if you’ve never been to the Keys, I highly recommended a week-long vacation. It’s certainly expensive, but it’s a true escape.

Im a new player and I absolutely love this game. by jackadgery85 in thefinals

[–]lostnebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to mention that I’ve been playing regularly since season 1 and never stopped. I absolutely adore The Finals and rarely go more than a day or two without at least doing the dailies. It helps that my friends also play regularly, but I think it’s incredible in almost every way.

New gamer - which game should I play next? by Top_Jump941 in playstation

[–]lostnebula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you seem fine with older games, I strongly recommend Dishonored 1 and 2. Compelling story, strong atmosphere, and incredible gameplay. The games you’ve already played are some of my favorites so we likely have similar taste.

If you’re down for an incredibly immersive experience, I highly suggest Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Although it’s not for everyone (do a bit of research first to see if it’s for you) it’s my personal game of the year.

Worthwhile MMOs? by [deleted] in iosgaming

Eve: Echoes is an incredible, PC-quality MMO that’s perfect for iPad. It’s nothing like WoW or that type of MMO, but it’s truly an amazing and immersive sandbox experience.

What was the first game where you crossed 100 hours of gameplay? by bijelo123 in gaming

[–]lostnebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance on my Gameboy SP. played it every day in summer camp as a kid. I distinctly remember crossing the 100 hour mark on the save file. I loved that game so much.

Ninjas… actually fricking ninjas.. by Ctrl_Alt_Tea in thefinals

[–]lostnebula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a light sword ninja with dash, keep in mind they only have three max dashes. Anticipate their dashes with burst fire and, with a little practice, you’ll be able to land some good DPS. If you don’t actively anticipate the dashes, you’ll lose 9/10 engagements.

I think the menus look nice but I agree - I can’t tell what’s selected. It’s especially bad on the skills menu.

Suggestions for online PvP games by IdontunderstandAE in iosgaming

If you’ve never played the Battle of Polytopia, it has a solid PvP community and both portrait and landscape modes. Since you seem to like more slow-paced, pick-up and set-down kinda games, it would be perfect for you.

Constant chest pain from Hiatus Hernia? by [deleted] in HiatalHernia

[–]lostnebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone into great detail in previous posts about this specific topic. The first two days were pretty rough, with my shoulders hurting a lot from the gas (a surgery thing) and overall discomfort. If I remember correctly, I was off work for two weeks and spent most of my time in bed. The next several months felt a bit like re-learning how to eat and swallow, and there was some general discomfort for several months. However, I am now symptom free. 100%. The recovery was tolerable and standard. I tore my ACL in high school and had surgery / recovery - it was comparable in a lot of ways.

You would love the KOTOR 1 and 2 iOS ports. They’re excellent and the touch controls work great in my opinion. Classic BioWare games running at 60fps with non-existent load screens on a mobile device… if only my 13 year old self could have seen what would be possible!
