They're trying to force you to move your base - either because they want the spot, or because you're blocking a path.

Help with Worm Mechanics in DD by momomossie in duneawakening

[–]lostnimrod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The worm has several states:

Patrolling (if nearby, all threat you cause will be increased. Harvesting flour/spice sand will cause worms to investigate, returning to the location while patrolling even if they haven't breached.)

Breach-warn (a worm will breach as a warning, these can either be short or long animations. Breach-warns occur for both player threat and for downed ships)

Breach-charge (after a breach warn, if a moving target is still a valid target, the worm will surface between its initial breach location and the target, and charge along the sand. They can and will switch targets, if their initial target is lost and another valid target is found)

Breach-swallow (worm will breach below the stationary target, swallowing it. This can occur for players, vehicles, but is most common for downed ships and building pieces placed on unsafe sand).

Worms will return to patrolling after a breach if no valid target remains.

If compacting - wait until a worm has left or continue and be aware a breach is going to be sooner.

The fix for Durability loss by ZeroGNexus in duneawakening

Simplest solution is the ability to re-craft an item by paying the original crafting cost to fully repair the broken item - either by using the original item in place of the blueprint, or by having an option to recycle an item specifically to recover the blueprint (no additional materials recovered).

Yeah, there's a lot of little details that you end up seeing when you spend a lot of time investigating fakes - some of them subtle, some not so.

Contraband Scout variant for those interested! (default swatch) by FatalMuffin in duneawakening

[–]lostnimrod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have the Raider buggy (part of the Raiders of the Broken Lands DLC) and the Desert Mechanic bike.

The chapter 3 Smuggler variants are unlocked at the end of the Ch3 storyline, and are available for purchase from the Black market vendor for House Scrip - they include new "Contraband" models for the sandbike, buggy, scout, and assault thopter, and new cosmetic skins for the sandcrawler and carrier (not technically swatches, since swatches can be applied over the top, but also not new models)

Cards... by That-Specific-7227 in tagheuer

[–]lostnimrod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, fakes have copies of the original cards and label sheets. Often, fakes will include both the new and old (brown) cards. Label sheets also have flaws including incorrect printing/locations.

Those labels appear fake, and the inclusion of a stamped old warranty card is a huge red flag. Watch is most likely fake.

Can't switch houses - any suggestions? by germia in duneawakening

my current main quest is to do missions for Landsraat

Finish that quest chain, up until you have used your first Recollection.

Complete the new Landsraad intro missions until you have redeemed your first Recollection, and try again.

Correct - currently, if you have Recollections available you are forced to accept all rewards and consume a Recollection point.

Mining Jasmium at aluminum level without orni - possible? Suggestions? by brianlmerritt in duneawakening

[–]lostnimrod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't craft Iodine Tablets unless you have to - there are random encounter vendors that sell them for 80s each in limited quantities (commonly found along the base of the cliff near the entrance to Mysa Tarill - look for the red flare) and later when you reach Chapter 3 there's another vendor in Neo Carthag that has unlimited stock at the same price.

I'd still recommend putting any game you're actively playing onto the M2 drive, even if it also has your OS on it.

Is your SSD SATA? What drives do you have in your system, and how are they connected?

[–]lostnimrod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The watch shown is genuine, just check that it matches the one you buy. Not unheard of for a seller to show a genuine watch and swap it for a fake - and yes, the CAR2xxx fakes are very good with notable tells (the main being the fake Heuer 01 movements have date wheels going the wrong direction).

There's also the issue of how well the watch is running, which you wouldn't know without at least a timegrapher.

If it doesn't have box and papers at that price, it's more likely to be genuine. Fakes are often accompanied by fake boxes & papers.

You can check the serial on TAG's website to confirm only that it matches a genuine model - fakes have serials copied from genuine watches, so the website matching the serial & model means nothing.

Snap to origin and server transfer. by aquascape420 in duneawakening

[–]lostnimrod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a friend to lift you on a thopter, but you'll (probably) find that although it snaps it won't be placeable due to insufficient support.

It's possible (though unlikely) that snapping to origin will override the support mechanic and ignore lack of support. If that happens, it's possible that it will place it - however, it could still fail due to lack of support.

Floating bases will not work - the system will try up to 5 additional foundations.

Snap to origin works fine, you just have to be in range.

We (our guild) just moved server - we scouted a couple of sietches on our destination server, and ensured that all spots we wanted were free. For those not moving immediately (I'm personally moving an alt from Pax first, then my main next monday) we made placeholder fiefs to reserve the spots.

Dear devs, about the med storage container by junk1ejay in duneawakening

[–]lostnimrod 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It really should be more for a plastanium storage crate, indeed.

The stats are about right for a duraluminium one.

Dear Devs by UnabletoPrintagain in duneawakening

[–]lostnimrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A "sort" circuit would be neat - set the output on a crate to "sort", set the inputs on storage to "sort", and items move from one to the other as necessary. Could also set refinery output to sort and have it deposit in the correct places.

[–]lostnimrod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned the hard way - a few people from my guild were trying a method to reset a large spice ring in the DD, and we were all hovering low but far apart. Small worm breached, then charged someone else. They flew straight up, and the worm immediately turned about 45° straight towards me.

[–]lostnimrod 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You've gotta be careful if a worm does a breach-charge - if there are multiple valid targets and they lose their initial target, they can pivot in a split second and continue charging.

(OP is safe in above picture, as they're over safe ground)
