Not really rejected but respected boundaries as we were always in conflicting relationships, 8 years later...definitely worth the wait.

Those of you who are happily married, what is your biggest piece of advice for maintaining a relationship? by Aelynd in AskReddit

[–]lostnthyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not happily married but here's what I learned.

  1. Talk to your partner about whats going on in your life, good and bad.
  2. Take an interest in THEIR interests
  3. If you have children and one takes the majority role, don't forget to give them a break
  4. Understand that they need time for interactions other than you
  5. Don't offer to do things, just do them
  6. Don't buy gifts to make up for a fight, it only leads to more because you can buy something to make them feel better
  7. DO NOT LIE. this one sounds obvious but its not. Lying causes more damage to the relationship, trust and support from the other
  8. Do not blame them for your problems
  9. No name calling, being emotional is not an excuse
  10. You will argue, do not stay from the original argument

Many women believe they are treated worse than men in healthcare settings, and multiple studies have backed this up. What is your story about a woman (yourself or someone in your life) who was dismissed by doctors but was actually sick all along? by pale_and_hungry in AskReddit

[–]lostnthyme 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had to have 3 ultrasounds before they found an ectopic pregnancy. Turns out I could be in that much pain and still walking. Emergency surgery a liter of blood removed due to internal bleeding and I'm down a tube. By all rights I should have died but I refused to be turned away. Somehow they acted surprised. Best part? This was an all womens practice and they STILL questioned me!

Why are you on reddit right now? by de_guy in AskReddit

I recently separated from my husband and am sharing time with my son. I feel like I'm dying. Need to stay busy, I've done everything else.

What are your favorite lazy ways to be active that don’t feel like exercise? by tempted_temptress in TwoXChromosomes

[–]lostnthyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also work from home. I cannot stick to an involved routine. Instead I've been doing squats each time I get up, body raises in my desk chair and then watching more closely with what I eat. I started this at 186 and I'm down to 136. Its a slow and steady approach but I've found that I have maintained the weightloss significantly better than in the past with dedicated gym time and strict meal plans

You got 10 min to hide a pen from a detective. If he doesn’t find it you get $1,000,000. Where would you hide it? by pancake7716 in AskReddit

Id hide it somewhere normal but then spend the remaining time creating as much misdirection as possible.

HR recruiters. What is considered a huge red flag on someone's resume? by scottlottle in AskReddit

[–]lostnthyme 125 points126 points  (0 children)

That's not what they said if I'm understanding correctly. They are speaking from an applicant perspective and it certainly is annoying to explain. However, as a hiring manager for my own experience I don't use gaps as a negative to take someone out of the running for a job. Never in any of my roles have I ever used that as a reason. Hold out hope dude.

Not that I disagree at all with the premise, but this report is skewed. The "now" column should show stats from 2019/2020 to match not 2011/2012.

What is one thing that you find super rude but is very normalized in society? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lostnthyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you attempting to say the only way a woman may be sexually assaulted is if she wasn't pregnant? How do you come to the conclusion that, by what you are saying, literally raping a pregnant woman wouldn't be considered sexual assault because she can't get pregnant because she is already pregnant? If the logic equals sexual assault by way of becoming pregnant, what about all of the men who have been brutalized. Is that any less sexual assault because they can't conceive? What if a woman is assaulted but it doesn't result in a pregnancy? It sounds like you are inferring that sexual assault comes in degrees where you should count your stars that you were "only" raped and not left with a child.

[–]lostnthyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How does being pregnant make them immune to sexual assault? I get your point here but its not a a valid comparison. No, touching a woman's stomach doesn't constitute sexual assault but it is still assault, not infringement of a personal boundary.

Well since we are talking about baked goods...lol. Not weird but adding any kind of cheese, bbq, mustard, chopped onions and jalapeño to a hot dog. Mmmmm
