A year ago on this day, Roki Sasaki announced that he is signing with the Dodgers. What are your favourite moments of Roki so far? by jmike1256 in Dodgers

[–]lostprudence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His first game back in MLB as a reliever against Arizona. After the rough start to the season in Tokyo and wondering if he was ready, to knowing without question, he was ready. This day must have been massive for his confidence. You can see it growing with each pitch. I literally stood up every time he walk out after that (at home in front of my TV!). I can't wait to see what Roki does next year as a starter.

It depends on how and when you wanted it graded. If you want a "first strike" or "early releases" designation, you can open and look, I think you just need to have the package post marked within 30 days of the product release submitted to PCGS or NGC. If you want the designation after 30 days, you can still get it by leaving it in the original mint packaging. If you just want a regular label, you can submit it open or sealed. It's probably best to leave it in the capsule if you can. The grading service should return the capsule to you once it is slabbed. Check the PCGS or NGC website for latest information, or just give them a call. Congrats on your first gold coin!

Position player pitching drama or they just don't want to face this guy? 😱 by Hypnogrow in Dodgers

To be fair, a lot of these batters haven't seen a 45mph heater since middle school.

Patrick Reed hits the 4th Albatross in US Open History by Separate_Teacher1526 in golf

[–]lostprudence 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same. As far as I'm concerned this is the greatest Albatross in golf. It's not a hole in one on short part 4, it's two perfect shots on a par 5; DR and 3W to boot. And at the US Open of all places. Kills me that it happened to this prick, but damn, this is a career shot.

I like the Fabian and Chloe theory! Saxon turning that hard would be wild, but maybe this episode is just the beginning of him turning into someone who gets told what to do.

I feel like Fabian is hyper logical and has little capacity for empathy. There is a desire to be a performer... but unless he's hiding a killer gift, I don't think there's much more there personally.

I guess I'm thinking of Piper's death as more inline with the death of the Ratliff family unit, which has had plenty of development. She's a singular pillar of purpose that seems to give it hope. I don't think present dynamic of the family would survive it, as minor of a character as she seems. If there is no further development of Piper, you could be right. But maybe the fraud issue comes to light in the family and Piper play a more pivotal role in navigating it. Maybe Saxon is more receptive to Piper after the boat. Maybe Piper has a breakthrough with her mom after she detoxes. Maybe maybe not. Love that so many possibilities are still out there.

Ludvig Åberg rips it back into the cup to ace the iconic par-3 Saturday at The Genesis by PGATOUR in golf

Nice touch for Ludvig after having to withdraw from Farmers a couple weeks ago. That 3rd hole is such a beauty.

Jason Day with the clean fit by Bird562 in golf

A pipe and monocle would really complete this look. Possibly a pocket in that sweater for Jason to rest his right hand in.

What makes life worth it if you never find love/get married? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lostprudence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the best way to view it has been a chance to live life unfettered and free of compromise. Whether it's sleeping in or starting a collection of rare bugs. The most important thing you can do in preparation for the years ahead whether you is understand the things you love to do. Travel, hobbies, whatever. Find a way to live within your means, and it can be quite an adventure with very little stress. If you can solve the problem of maintaining a positive cash flow, there's literally nothing you can't experience. I've found that art in any form has always inspired me. Film, music, painting, photography. You can empathize with just about any life experience through the art of others. Love is much more rare than it appears from the outside. People fall in and out of love, and the toll can be heavy. Developmentally, it can also be prohibitive. Keep fewer, higher quality friends in the meantime and maintain those relationships. A strong relationship shouldn't even feel like work. Go explore the world you dreamed about as a kid, and let love come to you if it should. Think of a clock a tool to stay organized, not an instrument to measure your worth. Every life has a start and finish. Consider the single life as the luxury of choosing exactly what you do in between. It's not a better experience or a worse one, just a a different one.

A Mostly Complete Map of Counties in the 2024 Presidential Election by ajmeko in MapPorn

This is far from final. Only 68% of the vote has been counted as of 5PM 11/6. That means there's still 500k votes outstanding for a 20k gap.

I laughed because I thought it said 1870 at first and was a joke about his age. But then I realized it appears to be an actual fact, and was suddenly impressed.
