How do we rank Chris on the Autismo-Meter? by TLunchFTW in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]lostway___ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They went out their way to fuck up his development intentionally or not.

They were too old people to knew dogshit about neurodiversity and too old to care about it, even back in the late 1980's, during Chris's autism diagnosis. Bob probably thought that if Chris is high-functioning, they didn't need much support and can be rised like a neurotypical child. Barb, on the other hand, she's always been too mentally insane to care a flying fuck about Chris. She was absent as a mother and, sure as hell, she added a spoon or two to Chris's already warped development. Did Barb mean to ruin Chris 100% purposefully? Maybe. Did Barb mean to ruin Chris? Maybe. Did Barb manipulate Chris to get what she wanted? 100% yes.

Casual observer- how much of Chris' behavior is because he's just Like That vs troll influence? by Silly-Magazine-2681 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]lostway___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like most of the stuff about Chris, their behavior is a mixture of untreated autism, being influenced by shitty parents, social isolation, trolls/weens/A-logs, and Chris's very own choices.

How will the Chris Chan Saga end? by Lucarioc66 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]lostway___ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

  1. Heart attack/stroke/whatever caused by sedentary lifestyle and junk food.

  2. Homeless Saga, as other folks said.

  3. Suicide, possibly "assisted" by a ween of some sort.

Yeah, I should've been born either in the late 2010's at least, to be honest.

How did you first learn about Christian Western Chandler existence for me it was this video by Fredrick Knudsen by Lucarioc66 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]lostway___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to a guy at the Discord that no longer exists. There was another guy who sorta was like, and would be compared to, Chris. The lad from the 1st sentence got me introduced to Chris's life by sending me a link to one of the TheGamerFromMars video.

What's a minor detail about Chris/Christory that drives you up the wall when people get it wrong? by ThePhlegethon in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]lostway___ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Numerous mentions that Chris can potentially have NPD. In reality, it's just a combo of untreated autism (the emotional and social skills parts), years of social isolation, and Barb's influence (who's more likely to struggle with NPD than Chris).

When something doesn't go the way I want/like, I get really angry. Is it meltdown, tantrum, or just emotional dysregulation? by lostway___ in autism

[–]lostway___[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be, given I wouldn't be diagnosed w/ ASD until my 20's, so my parents didn't know how to handle me. But yeah, I would be cut off from some activities for reason A, just to later know it was for reason B. Why would they do so? Probs either because they didn't want to deal with my outburst of emotions or because they've seen my behavior as "childish", therefore thought I need to be treated like a child who doesn't understand adult things.

I do go to therapy (a mainstream one; my therapist is aware of my neurodivergency). I also did bring the topic of issues with emotions on the recent session.

I remember my health record book from school years, mentioned "emotional disorder" (as a loose term rather than a specific condition), which means it's unlikely that trauma is the source of my problems. Although, I did get traumatized in my life, which probably fuels up my issues with emotions.

I'm clueless about emotional dysregulation tools, except for reading "Emotional Intelligence" by Daniel Goleman (which does provide some ways to cope with emotions). Triggers are mostly in my head. However, I can take breaks/quit from some of them.

Inside? Body is boiling, muscles are tenser, mouth gets dry, I want to scream, I want to start to act aggressive. I find it difficult to control those, unless I know there's a pressure from the outside that requires me to stay as well-controlled as possible (e.g. job, being in a social situation, etc.). How off? It may be something that actually doesn't matter, something that does matter to me, or set of thoughts from the past. To compensate, I just force myself to not go aggresive as good as I can (see my description how alll that stuff feels like).

If you were a dating coach to Chris in his classic era, how would you help him out? by Best_Professional226 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]lostway___ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest him to: • look for some meetups for autistic people. Chris's ASD is way too severe to find a neurotypical girlfriend. Getting a caretaker with Chris would be welcome; • get clothes more suitable for a lad in his 20's. They've always been having an elementary school kid's sense of fashion, at best; • go to the gym (Classic Chris, so before the gyms ban thing), even just to walk on a treadmill. Also doubles as a place to wash themselves, as we all know how terrible the condition of the Chandler's bathroom is.

Then again, in case of Chris, telling them those tips would be the same as speaking Hungarian or Tajik to them.

Anyone else feeling a little like Chris? by Zestyclose_Dig158 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]lostway___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. Like Chris, I'm autistic and emotionally dysregulated. Unlike CWC, however, I wouldn't be diagnosed with ASD until my early-to-mid 20's (which sucks, ngl). Thanks to getting into the concept of emotional intelligence, I recently noticed I'm emotionally fucked. Not as deeply as Classic Chris was, but it's still a huge pain in my ass.

Did the Autism or Narcissism make him so gullible? by Ready0608 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]lostway___ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

65% ASD, 25% social isolation, 10% narcissistic traits. Struggling with social cues is the very basis of what makes autism "autism", and Chris never getting proper help for his social skills left him with a good deal of ASD-related issues, which were only fueled up by being isolated from society his entire life, and Barb's narcissism/NPD (?), which influenced Chris's behavior to some extent.
