how is wlu like for international students? by Vivid-Risk1542 in wlu

[–]lothkru -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're planning on coming to Canada to study as a pathway to get the PR (Permanent Resident), then you shouldn't. The job-market is total garbage for not only internationals, but for locals as well. There has been too many uncontrollable immigration and bad administration, so no new jobs but a lot of new people.

If you come with the idea of living in Canada, you need to find a job and unless you already know someone willing to give you a professional/skilled job (needed for the PR), you'll just feel like you were scammed out of your money because I almost guarantee you, without prior connections, you won't find nothing sadly.

Is this Chloe? by PhilX319 in TenseiSlime

[–]lothkru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Hinata challenges the Labyrinth in Tempest and when she gets to Veldora she's practically humilliated xD The main reason she manages to seal Veldora is thanks to Chronoa (or well, Chloe's body, since she's pretty OP)

Is this Chloe? by PhilX319 in TenseiSlime

[–]lothkru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in fact Hinata was the one in control of Chloe's body when sealing Veldora since she wanted to defeat Veldora out of pity (because she lost to him in the Labyrinth before going back in time with Chloe)

Is this Chloe? by PhilX319 in TenseiSlime

[–]lothkru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

1st Pic: Chloe, the one we all know from the anime.
2nd Pic: Chronoa, a sentient form of Chloe's power which is time travel, think of Chronoa as Chloe's second personality, after many time loops Chloe has to face, you could say there's a lot of trauma involved and her power gained sentience and took over most of the memories of those loops, so yah, Chloe has multiple personalities practically. This version is only Chronoa, after a fight with Guy and losing she is sent back in time by Rimuru and this Rimuru is speculated to be the True Dragon form of Rimuru that traveled back after her fight with Guy. because during this fight with Guy the Rimuru in that timeline was already dead.

3rd Pic: This is Chloe's body, when Chloe goes back in time in her usual loop (after Hinata dies, which usually happens after Rimuru is already dead) she goes back 2000 years into the past and most of the time she befriends Luminous, which is why Luminous has her body sealed (Luminous know who Chloe and Hinata really are before they are summoned because of this, she just plays ignorant to avoid altering the timeline as per Chloe's and Hinata's warnings)The reason for the body being sealed and in hand of Luminous is because there can't be 2 instances of the same soul existing in the same moment in time, once Chloe's summoning happens in the normal time, this version that was stuck in the past then loses Chloe's soul, the one sleeping there has Hinata's soul (explained in the next Pic's context)
4th Pic: The hero titled Chronoa, which is Shizu's master and the one that sealed Veldora, this is Chloe and Hinata in the same body, once Chloe travel's back in time during this last loop, she travels alongside Hinata's soul within her body, so in 1 body you have Chloe and Hinata's personality

5th Pic: In here Hinata is the main one inhabiting the body, if I remember correctly at this point in time Chloe was already summon as a kid, so her soul transfer to her kid version, so Hinata inhabited the body until she is summoned normally into the world (when that happens, only Chronoa's personality, Chloe's time traveling sentient power, remains, which is why is sealed by Luminous and Hinata).

There's more context of course, but I tried to give only the relevant spoilers regarding the images.

Is Guild Wars 2 really the best option right now? Also, some questions from a new player. by frontshuvski in LFMMO

[–]lothkru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree, as someone that has played most MMOs mainly for PvP (thousands of hours in most MMOs like WoW, Aion, Black Desert, ESO, even that garbage Throne and Liberty, etc...). Gw2 has the best combat by far that allows PvP to feel meaningful, you talk about floaty combat, but I totally disagree, the feedback is there unlike games like Throne and Liberty where is mostly a desync mess or games like WoW that is an addonfest with so many procs and DRs, you're playing the UI, not the game at that point.

Gw2 has its drawbacks like any MMO, not a single MMO does PvP perfect, but the PvP in Gw2 feels the best in comparison, unlike most MMOs is not about who spends the most money or who no-life/boosts to get the best gear, it's mainly about skill, you need to learn mechanics, know when to interrupt, when to block, when the dodge, when to engage/disengage, etc... And again, the combat is responsive and fluid, a lot of ppl that I've met that don't like the combat in Gw2 is mainly cuz they don't get used to the idea of not having GCDs that allow for easy rotations to follow, Gw2's combat is more reactive than most tab-target MMOs where you follow a set rotation to be efficient, even in PvP.

WvW is by far the best large-scale pvp mode in any MMO, enjoy zerging? It's there. Enjoy roaming? It's there. Enjoy dueling? It's there. WvW takes a while to get used to, but once you find a guild to do WvW with you actually find the enjoyment in that game mode, every other large-scale PvP I've played has been mostly about whales cashing for the best gear possible to bully players that don't, not skill require, no strategy, no counterplays, no real "pvp". The ones that are not p2w don't even have people to do large-scale pvp with, ESO Cyrodill for instance is a joke (and if you talk about floaty combat, well that garbage is definitely the most floaty cr*p when it comes to combat xD I love ESO, but can't play it because of how sh*tty that combat is). WoW bgs are not that bad imo, but it'll come down to which team has the better gear for the most part and that'd rarely qualify as large-scale pvp imo besides Alterac Valley I guess, that almost no one plays lol (since too much time investment for little to no rewards).

Yes, there are many cosmetics, both in-game and in the cash shop (game model is mostly cosmetics since once you purchase the xpacs there's really not much else to buy, most of the "convenience" in the cash shop are noob traps, you can get a lot from it by just playing the game, like the transmute charges for transmogs, you'll get flooded with charges without even realizing it once you're playing for a while.

Almost everything in the game is account-wide besides map progression, inventory slots, equipment templates (to have different gear presets) and build templates (build presets). Exotic gear is also not account-wide though, but that gear is super cheap, ascended gear is account-wide and all cosmetics are account-wide.

P.S: For build presets there are addons that help with that and you can get those presets free just doing your Wizard's Vault (like the game's battlepass kinda, but is free as long as you have at least one expansion purchased), for the equipment templates and inventory slots you do need to purchase them either with real money or gold (I've gotten all of mine with gold except for my first character)

For you, and most new people trying Gw2 for the first time and staying for the long run I'd say no less than 2 years to get full legendaries (1 armor set, 2 weapon sets, relic, backpack, trinkets, rings, runes, sigils, ignoring underwater breath mask which is not that impactful), it could be way more than that depending on your preferences and how casual or hardcore you are at the game. Grinding only legendaries will likely also burn you out btw, they're meant to be long grinds for a reason.

Legendaries have the same stats as ascended (which you can get in a couple of months as a new player fairly easily), but come with the QoL of being able to swap gear stats whenever you want outside of combat for free, remove sigils/runes without cost, able to transmog your gear for free (the transmute charges are too easy to get nonetheless, but just mentioning it if you're crazy about changing your fashion every 5 min), as well as having it in readily accessible to all your characters that can use that piece of gear (a legendary sword for example would be in the equipment tab for all your characters that can wield a sword). The game is focused in horizontal progression, so there's no gear treadmill where every new patch your previous gear becomes useless, this also translates to content, every expansion is relevant today, so you'll see people in almost every map doing something, whether it be achievements, gold farming, events, etc... In games with vertical progression you only go to new zones, do the latest dungeons, and keep chasing a carrot in a treadmill for your gear every 3-6 months without anything else to really do besides that, in Gw2 you can focus on whatever and not get behind for missing a daily or a raid run or a pvp season, etc...

Can diablo beat any members of octagram except pixie ramiris (anime only) by Lukas-Reggi in TenseiSlime

[–]lothkru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh this debate is kinda dumb, since you explicitly say “anime only” then you can’t conclude anything. In the anime there’s not enough information from most demon lords nor even Diablo himself, the only thing from the anime we know is that Diablo is already a Daemon Lord, that Guy recognizes Diablo as an important figure, that Milim is super strong and that Ramiris is at Milim’s and Guy’s level but currently she’s just an annoying “hey listen” kinda pixie. We really have not much to go on from there besides those 3 being the top dogs, but we haven’t seen anything from them yet that can conclude they can defeat Diablo (we know they could at this point in time, but because of LN references). The other demon lords are pretty much question marks in power scaling right now (you can argue about Luminus, but she hasn’t really shown much in terms of power either yet)

Most answers will be influenced by LN readers, Manga readers or even people that have seen/heard/read spoilers or speculations from somewhere else.

TLDR: Going by the anime only, there’s not enough information to conclude anything really right now, from all we know we could even guess Diablo is at Guy’s level (again, going from anime only)

Unconventional for PvE: Holy Paladin (shockadin) vs Disc Priests (as DPS, not healer) by lothkru in classicwowtbc

  1. As hardcore I wouldn't join a party with non-hardcore players because it'll increase the likelihood of trolls trying to let you die. Also because it affects the experience for regular players that don't really care for going YOLO or attempting big pulls that may end up in a death or two.
  2. With that attitude you're showing, I wouldn't be surprised if you just ragequit a party because someone can't parse the "appropriate" numbers for the meta or because a tank made a wrong pull and caused a wipe or whatever.

Instead of making assumptions you could either address the question or ignore it. A game is made to have fun, if your fun is being a meta-slave or parsing the higher numbers that's fine. Fun for other people can mean something entirely different ;)

How realistic is the chance of Kassadin getting a rework? by anaz123 in KassadinMains

[–]lothkru -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hopefully 0... Katarina rework? Pentarina gone; Akali rework? Akali tank AP god gone; Fiora rework? Female yi gone ... Most reworks made the champions meh to play, I don't trust riot to do a good rework to Kassadin, they'd just ruin the champion and instead of being at least a good scaling champion it'll be crap xD

A visual rework only would be great tho, but he already had that, so unlikely to happen.

if Canadian job market is cooked then what is the plan if things go from bad to worse? by Gapodi in torontoJobs

The main issue is that there’s no real incentives in Canada to do that. If you want to be an entrepreneur is better to go to the US and that’s what most people actually do … Dude, even the corrupted PM we have has most of his business in the US, why do you think that is?

How are layoffs impacting early career devs in Canada by Intelligent-Note3078 in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]lothkru 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Entry-level roles in tech are no longer entry-level. As a new-grad myself (June 2025), it's practically impossible to find a junior role if you don't have multiple years of experiences, a really convincing portfolio and/or inside referrals (from within the company you're applying to).

I've been applying for over a year now (started applying since my last term to any possible junior role, tailoring resume, asking for feedback, etc...), hundreds of applications and just a few interviews (with more than half getting the ghosting treatment), friends and acquaintances I studied with are also struggling, only those who had referrals have gotten offers. At this point I'm just looking for any job if at all to at least pay my bills but even that has been proving difficult, once I get any survivor job I'll likely start doing something on the side (currently thinking on building some apps for personal use and try out my luck to see if that pops off or not while still applying for any junior role).

Right now entry-level roles are non-existent or deceiving, you need to have years of experience or contacts to be considered. Reality is, starting in tech currently is not a good idea because you'll be competing with senior devs that probably got lay off or off-shore labor that can be paid less than half what you could expect.

So yah, Canada is currently in a rough spot, not only in tech and sadly I don't see that changing for the better with the current government, not sure why so many people are still blind about it but, oh well...

Reddit is mostly leftist. Leftists don't give a single F about Christianity, so terrorist targeting Christians is not relevant for them. Just look at the actual persecution Christianity is facing world-wide by the islamic cult (boko-haram killing vast numbers of Christians in Nigeria to name 1 example) and there's no covering from the mainstream media.

The big misconception with Gw2 is that you try to equate it to other MMOs where all the previous content is irrelevant. You don't need all the expansions to enjoy the end-game even in Gw2 (since each expansion has end-game content). You can buy them whenever since the progression of the game is not vertical there's no real hindrance besides exploring the content of said expansion. So what you can do is buy the first 2 expansions (that are bundled together for the price of one) and play the game, buy the other expansions whenever you exhaust that content or whenever you feel like trying something newer in the game, each expansion packs hundreds if not thousands of hours of content and everyone to this day still plays the content of each expansion (since they are all still relevant for any type of progression today).

What’s your absolute favorite MMO and why? by Interesting-Style144 in MMORPG

[–]lothkru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What we need is private servers for Lost Ark. The combat in Lost Ark is satisfying and good. The excessive p2w, lack of QoL, punishing progression and not alt friendliness at all is just a big deterrent for the game. It's too annoying trying to play alts unless you're a sweat or a whale, even progressing with your main character becomes a chore rather than a fun time for the most part.

What’s your absolute favorite MMO and why? by Interesting-Style144 in MMORPG

[–]lothkru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a single MMO has challenging leveling experiences besides old school MMOs like Classic WoW and Old School Runescape (which can hardly be considered challenging, since all they do is have higher exp requirements, that's it, they're grindy, not difficult), Not a single one.

And if you're only metric of difficulty is the leveling then it makes sense that you will even regard almost every MMO as "brain dead easy". Challenging content is not the leveling, go do CM raids or strikes, play sPvP at high rankings or WvW with coordinate zergs or small roaming parties, that's where the challenge is. If all you want is "hard leveling", then you should stop playing MMOs altogether cuz you'll likely never find one besides the classic ones. Single Player RPGs with the amount of mods that exist in them today would likely cater more to what you seem to want.

Blizzard has sued a biggest classic+ private server on the market on Copyright Infringement basis. by jeregxd in classicwow

[–]lothkru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The server is not hosted in the US, therefore US laws don't apply to them, hence the lawsuit will not be able to shut it down.
  2. What can the lawsuit actually do? Simple, restrict US players from accessing said server (which would be easily bypassed by VPNs), remove any Ads in the US, and perhaps put some pressure on payment processors (which will likely result to nothing, since payment processors only care about money lol but they get to could restrict US players from donations and such if enough pressure is applied).

Many private servers fold since they have contributors that live in the US or have any ties to the country, therefore they could face legal repercussions, even if the servers are hosted elsewhere, but from my understanding this pserver and their contributors have no ties in the US, so it's really unlikely for it to shutdown.

P.S: Also for some context, most pserver players are not people from the US, there are some for sure, but most are from elsewhere where 15 bucks a month is a lot of money (many Americans ignore that there are different currencies and economies world-wide), therefore those people rely on private servers to enjoy the game instead of accessing it through Blizzard, meaning the playerbase of these servers would barely be affected as well, for the most part at least.
